Injured UC San Diego Student SUES SCHOOL For Failing To Stop Her From Protesting Trump

Maria Ana Carrola Flores and others tried to block traffic on the freeway to protest the president, but got hit by a car instead.

A University of California, San Diego student, Maria Ana Carrola Flores, is suing the school for failing to stop her from protesting President Donald Trump, a decision she says led to her being hit by a car on California’s I-5 freeway.

Flores was one of a number of students, the College Fix reported, who spent the day after election day in 2016, wandering around campus shouting anti-Trump slogans. At some point the “Library Walk” event became a larger protest and the group of students stormed a freeway on-ramp in an attempt to block traffic to make a statement against the president.

Flores was one of the students who locked arms on the freeway, but a car swerved around the blockade and hit her, breaking her leg and pelvis.

Now Flores is saying her injuries are the school’s fault because the school knew about the protest and supported it, and failed to tell Flores and her fellow students to rethink their idea of blocking traffic on one of the San Diego area’s busiest thoroughfares, as though the idea wasn’t clearly terrible from the beginning.

“The complaint additionally claims that UCSD is liable for Flores’ injuries because it allowed the protesters to enter the freeway and failed to warn Flores that there was no one providing security for the demonstrators along the freeway even though campus police officers were present during the protests on campus and shut down the surrounding streets,” the College Fix reports.

She’s also suing the state of California for failing to act quickly to shut down traffic.

Flores does admit, reticently, it seems, that she is at fault for her own injuries, but she also claims that she’s ultimately not responsible for her own actions.

We should be more like Switzerland in this narrow respect:

Switzerland Rejects Citizenship Bids Of Residents Who Were Once On Welfare

    Switzerland doesn’t mess around.

The idyllic nation — where the average annual GDP per capita is nearly $80,000 — doesn’t like deadbeats. The nation recently enacted a new civil rights act that prevents residents who received welfare benefits from becoming citizens until they pay back the money they took.

The new regulations took effect January 1. Asylum seekers and refugees who received handouts in the previous three years can’t become permanent residents without paying back the government.

What’s more, refugees must prove they are making efforts to integrate into society in order to win citizenship. They must show that have “cultivated contacts” with a number of Swiss people, according to Kronen Zeitung. There are also new language requirements, which vary depending on the canton they are living in, the Daily Mail reports.

Dianne Feinstein Says Someone ‘Pressured’ Her To Release Fusion GPS Transcripts, Backtracks

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) appears to have made a startling revelation about why she released the Fusion GPS transcripts on Tuesday — she was “pressured” to do so.

The revelation came from CNN Congressional Correspondent Manu Raju, who tweeted: “FEINSTEIN says she’s sorry to Grassley for not giving him a headsup about the release of the Fusion GPS transcript. ‘I meant to tell him, and I didn’t have a chance to tell him, and that concerns me,’ she told us. ‘I just got pressured, and I didn’t do it.'”

Sean Davis, co-founder of The Federalist, was the first to notice the overlooked detail and was quick to point out its potential seriousness. Davis tweeted: “Wait. She was ‘pressured?’ By whom? That seems like a pretty huge detail. Was it a donor? A party boss? Federal officials? Who ‘pressured’ her?”

Feinstein later claimed, according to Raju, that she was not pressured to release the transcripts and her office claimed that she “misspoke.”

So did she lie when she said she was pressured, or when she said she wasn’t?

Democrat Who Says His Family Obtained Identification Illegally Will Challenge Feinstein In 2018

California Democratic Senate leader Kevin de León announced over the weekend that he will challenge Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) for Senate in 2018.

While leading the fight to make California a sanctuary state, De León claimed in testimony before the Senate’s Public Safety Committee that half of his family would be eligible for deportation.

“Half of my family would be eligible for deportation under the executive order, because they got a false social security card, they got a false identification, they got a false driver’s license prior to us passing AB 60, they got a false green card, and anyone who has family members who are undocumented knows that almost entirely everybody has secured some sort of false identification,” De León said.

Really? Funny, that’s what Republicans have been saying and what Democrats have been denying for years!

Obama Paid Nearly $1 Million To Law Firm That Hired Fusion GPS

“At the same time that Hillary’s campaign, Obama’s campaign organization, and the DNC were simultaneously paying Perkins Coie, the spouse of one of Fusion GPS’s key employees was working directly for Obama in the West Wing.”

Just days after The Washington Post revealed that Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and the Democratic National Convention (DNC) funded Fusion GPS as they produced the unverified Trump dossier, a new report indicates that former President Barack Obama’s campaign organization might have played a part in financing the project as well.

Records filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) revealed that Obama’s official campaign organization, Obama For America (OFA), has given over $972,000 to Perkins Coie since last year — the same law firm representing the Clinton campaign and the DNC which hired Fusion GPS to conduct “research” on then-candidate Donald Trump, The Federalist reported.

Marc E. Elias, a lawyer representing the Clinton campaign and the DNC at Perkins Coie, hired Fusion GPS in April 2016 to dig up damaging information on Trump. To carry out the task, Fusion GPS hired former British spy Christopher Steele who then got unverified information about Trump from officials in Russia.

SO LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT – Obama and Clinton colluded with Russia to try and throw the election – though they did it through intermediaries to try and create a buffer between them should it ever come out.

BREAKING: Anti-Trump Dossier Author Referred To FBI For Criminal Investigation

“But, as I would with any credible evidence of a crime unearthed in the course of our investigations, I feel obliged to pass that information along to the Justice Department for appropriate review.”

On Friday, top Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee referred the author of the unverified anti-Trump dossier to the FBI and DOJ for criminal investigation.

Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) referred former British spy Christopher Steele, who was hired by Fusion GPS to compile the anti-Trump dossier, to the FBI and DOJ to be investigated for possible crimes after they said that he may have made false statements to investigators about his communications with journalists in the U.S. about the dossier. The letter states:

Based on the information contained therein, we are respectfully referring Mr. Steele to you for investigation of potential violations of 18 U.S.C. § 1001, for statements the Committee has reason to believe Mr. Steele made regarding his distribution of information contained in the dossier.

In a statement, Grassley wrote, “I don’t take lightly making a referral for criminal investigation. But, as I would with any credible evidence of a crime unearthed in the course of our investigations, I feel obliged to pass that information along to the Justice Department for appropriate review.”

Graham added, “After reviewing how Mr. Steele conducted himself in distributing information contained in the dossier and how many stop signs the DOJ ignored in its use of the dossier, I believe that a special counsel needs to review this matter.”

All-star comic Dave Chappelle is one of the limited few in his field to avoid ripping President Donald Trump with every punchline. The comedy king criticized the anti-Trump angle taken uniformly by the comedy community, telling The New York Times that he doesn’t want to be part of the “chorus.”

Discussing some of his contemporaries still in the field, Chappelle brought up President Trump. “But the whole Trump things makes it harder for comedians,” he said.

“He’s so skewed, it’s hard to find an angle that sounds fresh,” he added. “If you talk about him, it’s almost like you’re part of the chorus and not a soloist.”

Put another way, he wants to be funny, not political in a predictable way.

ANOTHER MINIMUM WAGE FAIL: Red Robin Restaurants Eliminate All Busboys

On Monday, the national restaurant chain Red Robin announced it would eliminate busboys at all of its 570 restaurants, as the company expects it will save $8 million in 2018 by doing so. Red Robin’s chief financial officer Guy Constant told attendees at the ICR retail conference, “We need to do that to address the labor increases we’ve seen.”

Michael Saltsman, director of the Employment Policies Institute (EPI), told FOX Business, “I read that as minimum wage. Somebody like Red Robin, which has a lot of exposure in western states [where the minimum wage is rising faster] … this is sort of a burger and beer chain. If they can’t pass those increases off in higher prices … they have to find a way to do more with less.” editor-in-chief Nick Powills added, “From a business standpoint, [Red Robin made a] very smart move. From an employee standpoint, you just cut out $8 million worth of labor. The interesting thing about the minimum wage hike is that those that made the decisions to do it, did it on behalf of the employee … when intentions are good, and you can’t appease everybody, someone is going to eventually be on the short [end of the] stick.”

The Colorado-based chain, whose outlets are found primarily in western states, already eliminated expediters, who take the food from the cooks and place it on plates for the servers; that saved the company almost $10 million last year.

Saltsman added, “I think the loss, as the minimum wage goes up … [is the] hollowing out of entry-level opportunities,”

As FOX Business reported, “Earlier this year, a study conducted by EPI, which analyzed employment trends from 1990 through 2017, found that each 10% increase in the minimum wage in California has resulted in a corresponding 2% decline in employment for affected employees. The impact was larger, 5%, for lower-paid workers.”

Exactly what Republicans predicted and Democrats denied would happen.

Increase minimum wage – eliminate minimum wage jobs entirely, forcing poor people to become poorer.

OK follow my logic here: Obama and Clinton colluded to hire a company to produce a fake “dossier”, colluding with connections in Russia to do so, with the intent to affect the election outcome.

They then used this “fake dossier” to request permission to wiretap Trump’s campaign and transition team and basically did exactly what the Watergate burglars tried to do, only with the knowledge, consent and participation of both Obama and Clinton.

A noted psychiatrist was a guest speaker at an academic function where Nancy Pelosi happened to appear. Ms Pelosi took the opportunity to schmooze the good doctor a bit and asked him a question with which he was most at ease.

‘Would you mind telling me, Doctor,’ she asked, ‘how you detect a mental deficiency in somebody who appears completely normal?’

‘Nothing is easier,’ he replied. ‘You ask a simple question which anyone should answer with no trouble. If the person hesitates, that puts you on the track..’

‘What sort of question?’ asked Pelosi.

Well, you might ask , ‘Captain Cook made three trips around the world and died during one of them. Which one?”

Pelosi thought a moment, and then said with a nervous laugh, ‘You wouldn’t happen to have another example would you? I must confess I don’t know much about history.’

The absolute evil of James Hansen rears it’s ugly head once again.

The Children’s Climate Lawsuit Against The Children

Litigation may be as American as apple pie, but some lawsuits are so destructive that they stand out even among the hugely expensive wreckage wrought by our legal system. The most prominent current example is the “children’s” climate lawsuit (Juliana v U.S.): A group of kids, including “future generations, through their guardian Dr. James Hansen,” claim that the government’s actions and failures to act have caused climate change, thus violating the youngest generation’s constitutional rights to life, liberty and property, and have failed to protect essential public trust resource.

I leave the numerous legal issues to the lawyers, although precisely how the ineffable Hansen came to be the “guardian” for future generations is a question both fascinating and amusing. Instead, it is crucial to recognize first that the fundamental policy assumption underlying this lawsuit — we can make “the children” better off by making them poorer — is preposterous.

More generally, the lawsuit is a blatant attempt to circumvent democratic processes, in terms of both the Congressional power to make policy and the authority of the president to implement it.

Climate policies — mandated reductions in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions — by and large are energy policies, and the constitution is silent on which such policies would serve the interests of future generations, or on the appropriate tradeoffs between the interests of “the children” and the adults alive in the here and now.

Those are policy questions, and this attempt to induce judges to interfere with Congress’ legislative powers is deeply destructive of our constitutional institutions. Should “the children” not be concerned about that? Why are “the children” not suing about, say, the national debt?

Second, the claim about the protection of “essential public trust resources” boils down to an assertion that carbon dioxide is a “pollutant.” No, it is not: A certain minimum atmospheric concentration of it is necessary for life itself. (Merely look at NASA’s time-lapse photo of the earth’s greening over the last 30-plus years.) By far the most important GHG is water vapor; does anyone claim that it is a “pollutant?” Obviously not, and not because ocean evaporation is a natural process; so are volcanic eruptions, and the massive amounts of effluents emitted by volcanoes are pollutants by any definition.

Third, consider a homo sapiens baby born in a cave some tens of thousands of years ago, in a world with environmental quality effectively untouched by mankind. That child at birth would have had a life expectancy on the order of ten years; had it been able to choose, it is obvious that it willingly would have given up some environmental quality in exchange for better housing, food, water, medical care, safety, ad infinitum. That is, it is obvious that people willingly choose to give up some environmental quality in exchange for a life both longer and wealthier.

In other words, the children’s lawsuit is inconsistent with actual interests of future generations, as the obvious underlying assumption is that future generations would prefer the purest possible environmental quality. That is not correct: Future generations want to inherit the most valuable possible capital stock in all of its myriad dimensions, among which environmental quality is one important component among many, and among all of which there are tradeoffs that cannot be avoided.

Well, back in the early to mid-70’s people used to have integrity and expected integrity from elected officials, however today progressives don’t give a shit about anything…. The only thing progressives care about is winning and their politicians can be as corrupt as shit, however just as long as they promote their progressive garbage that’s good enough to hand a bitch like Clinton a free pass to be as corrupt as she wants…. Because a win for progressives somehow in their minds legitimizes their stupid fucking ideas…

Progressives are zombie-sheep that “want stuff” and they want their degenerate ideas to be “approved” or “legitimized” and the only way to do that is to elect a degenerate politician that will force their ideas on the general public, and no amount of corruption or tyranny will sway these ignorant degenerate progressives from achieving their goals, so they could care less if Hillary is a corrupt moonbat bitch — they seriously don’t care.. They will defend Hillary for the sake of defending her because she’s “one of them”… I mean Hillary Clinton could murder a baby on live TV and her approval ratings would hardly be hit, you know why? because in their atrophied brains a “conservative” is by far way worse than a baby killer and it’s not even close….
