It is ironic that those who seek to blend and destroy individual racial identities are the biggest enemies of diversity, while simultaneously claiming to support diversity. The end result of that form of diversity is the exact opposite of their stated goal: the destruction of individual identities and ultimately, the destruction of diversity. - Arthur Kemp

Federalist: After Settlement With Fraternity, The Rolling Stone Rape Hoax Saga Is Officially Over: Rolling Stone is only now able to put this travesty behind them, at least legally.

More than three years after Rolling Stone published the most significant false accusation of rape since the Duke Lacrosse hoax, the saga is officially over for the magazine. That’s right, Rolling Stone is only now able to put this travesty behind them — at least legally. The magazine reached a final settlement in late December with the members of the fraternity that were falsely maligned in the story. The details have not been disclosed, but at least two members of the fraternity will be the beneficiary of the settlement. Three fraternity members – George Elias IV, Ross Fowler and Stephen Hadford alleged there was enough information in the article to identify them as some of the potential rapists in the story.

So much for Trump’s conservative record.

Federalist: In ‘Budget’ Deal, Republicans Just Raised Your Taxes Through The Roof

The true measure of the government’s fiscal burden on the people is spending, not taxes. Every dollar spent by the government must be raised somehow — by taxes present or future. There is no such thing as a free lunch after all. So if the government spends more than it raises in revenue one year, it must take from workers and investors the difference in later years. The can is kicked down the road, but the overall cost imposed on the people is the same.

In that sense, the Republican Congress and president increased taxes on the American people by more than $500 billion in a spending deal Friday. The law lifts discretionary budget caps by nearly $300 billion in 2018 and 2019 and adds over $200 billion of other spending on top. The magnitude is significant. It equates to over 6 percent of the federal budget and over 1 percent of economic output. It costs significantly more than Obamacare annually. And the bill pushes the budget deficit above $1 trillion in 2019. Worst of all, the deal sets a higher baseline from which all future spending will be negotiated. The total cost could be fivefold or tenfold or more.

Fox News: Ohio high school rallies around prayer after outside group tries to ban it at events

Members of an Ohio community are fighting back after a Wisconsin-based anti-religion group tried to pressure a high school to ban its long-held tradition of praying before sporting events. Freedom From Religion Foundation Legal Director Rebecca Markert said the organization received a complaint from “two concerned citizens” alleging “serious constitutional violations” at West Branch High School in Beloit. Upon receiving FFRF’s Jan. 18 cease-and-desist letter, the school district halted the custom of having a local pastor give a nondenominational prayer before sporting events.

Here is a statistic that The Hill is happy to trumpet.

The Hill: Report: Turnover rate in Trump White House highest in decades

The New York Times reported that staff departures at the White House have reached 34 percent, following a number of high-profile shakeups and resignations among some of the president’s most senior aides. At the same time, Trump has struggled to fill vacant positions, largely reflecting the president’s unwillingness to hire those that he deems unloyal, as well as hesitations by some Republicans to join an administration that often appears chaotic and freewheeling, the Times reported.

A few years ago, I read that Brazil is the most racially-mixed nation on Earth. The kicker was that everyone there looked for marital partners who would produce offspring with lighter skin so, over time, Brazil will become one of the whitest countries on the planet.
