Convicted defendants left uninformed of forensic flaws found by Justice Dept. Sadly this gives ammo to those who criticize various aspects of our criminal justice system, which I will be the first to admit has problems – see below.

Barney Frank says Obama made a mistake with his health care reform efforts. NO! yaTHINK? Well it’s not like Frank hasn’t made his share of mistakes…

Taxes Prompt More Americans to Renounce Citizenship This was predictable – in fact many (including me) predicted it… A great way to shrink the tax base and wind up with negative revenue growth is to raise taxes until you send taxpayers fleeing. It already happened in moonbat-controlled states.

Sleepy Air Canada pilot thought Venus was a plane

Venus has been quite bright for some time. There was a period a month or so ago when Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn were all visible in the evening sky. Mercury, though, was quite difficult to see due to the proximity to the sun – you really had to have optimum conditions to see it.

Soros warns euro crisis could destroy the EU

Of course he’s not talking about his ongoing plans with Obama to destroy the dollar and the U.S.

Now note the headline here on this next one – they’re practically convicting Zimmerman prior to trial – any potential juror who reads such trash will be tainted:
Trayvon Martin’s killer showed signs of injury: neighbors

Technically correct but really, in a word, evil that they put it that way.

Clearly the story SHOULD actually have the opposite affect if you read what it says, but by using the words “Trayvon Martin’s killer” deliberately as they have, they’re sowing the seeds of guilt and tainting any potential jurors.

    Here’s the key bits:

Neighbors of George Zimmerman say he had bandages on his nose and head the day after he shot dead Trayvon Martin, supporting statements by the neighborhood watch volunteer that he was beaten in a confrontation with the black Florida teenager. The extent of Zimmerman’s injuries could be crucial to his legal defense under Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” self-defense law, which allows the use of deadly force when someone has the reasonable belief he could face death or great bodily harm.

Police said Zimmerman, who has been charged with second-degree murder in the racially charged case, was bleeding from the nose and the back of his head and was treated by medics before being taken to Sanford police station after the February 26 shooting. Witness accounts have supported Zimmerman’s story that there was some kind of fight between him and Martin. Martin was returning with candy from a convenience store to his father’s fiancee’s home in a gated community when Zimmerman spotted him and called to police to say the teen appeared suspicious.

Zimmerman’s father and brother have said he had his nose broken and feared for his life before taking out his licensed handgun and shooting Martin dead.

The neighbors said they spoke to Sanford police and the FBI in their investigations but did not recall speaking to the office of special prosecutor Angela Corey, who charged Zimmerman with second-degree murder.

You see, Ms. Corey is not interested in exculpatory evidence. She’d rather all of that would just go away.

Anders Behring Breivik could get as much as 21 years for killing 77 – not enough – but what do you expect where moonbats rule?

He’s claiming self-defense as a justification for what he did.

While he may indeed turn out to be right about the dangers of “multiculturalism” as practiced in Norway, that does not justify what he did. Even if he killed muslims it would not be justified but, as far as I know, he didn’t kill any muslims, just people he thought were likely the children of politicians or the elite, wasn’t it?

A psychiatric report presented to the Oslo district court on Tuesday backed up Breivik’s own claim that he is sane, and contradicted an earlier assessment that declared him psychotic.

I don’t care how many people declare him sane. Sane people don’t do what he did. Now yes, certainly I would not say he should be allowed to plead insanity, but at the same time he certainly wasn’t sane, if you understand my meaning.

Since Breivik has confessed to the July 22 attacks – claiming they were necessary to protect Norway from being taken over by Muslims – the key issue that remains unresolved is his mental health.
The 33-year-old Norwegian was found insane in one examination that recommended committing him to compulsory psychiatric care, while a second assessment found him mentally competent to be sent to prison.
It will be up to the judges in Oslo’s district court to decide which diagnosis they find most believable.
If deemed mentally competent, he would face a maximum prison sentence of 21 years.
Alternatively, he could be kept in custody for as long as he is deemed a danger to society.

So way down in the story you learn he could wind up in jail for life. I guess, similar to Charles Manson, they’ll let him come forward and rant and rave every so often. This is a case that screams for capital punishment. Then again, which is more “cruel and unusual” – executing someone like this, or making him live in a cage for the rest of his life knowing what he did and knowing he will never, ever be free again?

Do you suppose low rates are just to do what can be done to prevent inflation or do you think also this is a concerted effort to discourage savings, which are how responsible people ensure that, when the unexpected happens, they don’t have to turn to the government for help?

  4. Bob Roberts says:

Democrats shredding the Constitution once again!

Thanks to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, a recently passed Senate bill, the suitably Orwellian entitled ‘Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act’, includes a provision that allows the federal government to revoke passports of Americans accused of owing back taxes.
The legislation now moves to the Congress where, despite a Republican majority, the IRS provision is expected to be retained in the final version of the bill because it will raise an estimated $750 million dollars over ten years.
“There is no requirement that the tax payer be guilty of or even charged with tax evasion, fraud, or any criminal offense — only that the citizen is alleged to owe the IRS back taxes of $50,000 or more,” reports the Daily Economist.
Empowering the IRS to deny fundamental rights on a whim is completely illegal and unconstitutional.

Meh. No need to follow the link. If you do you get to see my pithy comments on a couple of quotes about the event.

If you follow the link to my post to the original story, you get the same thing without my pithy comments.

Let us bottom line it right now. Seniors are only X% of the popultion. It is not a megre percent, but still, only a portion. LGBT is only 2% of the population.

So we are talking 98% of the senior population are not allowed to buy/rent in this new housing.

Why do you not have a blog?

Through ads you could make a “successful blog.”

And YouTube, if you make a vLog, could make you money.

Mr. Blount is nice enough to make “open threads” which is basically an “Advertise You Thoughts/Site” event daily.

frankie, I have called the effort by people like you and bobby and AC, who want to examine, over and over and over again, the minute, and obviously incomplete details, of what happened between Martin and Zimmerman as Trial By Blog.

I think doing that is stupid and I have no interest in it because it is pointless.
A legal decision has been made. Zimmerman is charged with 2nd degree murder. Presumably he will go to trial. Presumably ALL the evidence the special prosecutor has, that led to those charges, will be presented. Will that evidence hold up in court? Who knows? I’m not going to try to second guess a judge and jury.

Zimmerman may be found not guilty, and if so, I will accept that verdict.

Zimmerman may be found guilty, and if so, I will accept that verdict.

If he is found guilty, I will accept whatever penalty may be levied against him.

Taliban commander turns self in… for reward on ‘Wanted’ poster

Mohammad Ashan, a mid-level Taliban commander in Paktika province, strolled toward a police checkpoint in the district of Sar Howza with a wanted poster bearing his own face. He demanded the finder’s fee referenced on the poster: $100.

When U.S. troops went to confirm that Ashan had in fact come forward to claim the finder’s fee, they were initially incredulous.

“We asked him, ‘Is this you?’ Mohammad Ashan answered with an incredible amount of enthusiasm, ‘Yes, yes, that’s me! Can I get my award now?’” recalled SPC Matthew Baker.

A biometric scan confirmed that the man in Afghan custody was the insurgent they had been looking for.

  26. berlet98 says:

Barack Hussein Obama Will Win Re-Election (Part Two)

Part One of this very mini series examined some reasons why Barack Hussein Obama is virtually guaranteed to win his re-election bid.

My opinion–which I pray to God is wrong– was based on the probability of Obama conducting the dirtiest campaign in over a century, his faux-populist platform setting class against class and race against race, and plans to spend a billion dollars or more to fool the American people into giving him four more years.

However, that prediction was made not as much on those factors as on the fact Obama has locked up various constituencies that will cast their ballots for more of the same no matter what the president has done to the country to date or what else he will do before November 6th.

Most African-Americans, Jews, and homosexuals will vote for Obama seven months from now, giving him some 17% of the electorate.

So, too, will a sufficient number of Latinos and those still suffering from the malady of white guilt to give him the 270 electoral votes he needs to be “flexible” in order to accomplish his goal of changing America into a land that would have caused the Founding Fathers to retch.

In addition, many Republican conservatives will choose to shoot themselves in both feet by staying home on Election Day and thereby help re-elect the president out of pique that Mitt Romney isn’t conservative enough or because he has flip-flopped on issues almost as often as Obama.

. Latinos. Due to Obama’s policies and those of his immediate predecessor, George W. Bush, with regard to illegal immigration, hispanics in America now constitute 16.3% of the population, over 50 million people, an estimated 11 million of whom entered the United States illegally.

Regardless of which president is most responsible for the illegal influx, the reality at this point is that they are here and only an unprecedented, massive, federal deportation program will change the situation, and that’s not going to happen under any administration.

Legal or illegal, with notable exceptions Latinos are an industrious, hard-working, religious, and fundamentally conservative group, characteristics that should classify them as Republicans yet 67% voted for Obama in 2008.

The reasons for that majority are multiple and complex but boil down to the successful Democrat Party effort to make hispanics, legal and illegal, feel at home in the U.S., feel that Democrats care and will take care of them, feel they should vote for Obama because Republicans don’t make them feel at home and won’t “take care of them.”

According to a recent poll from the Democrat campaign, 73% of them will vote Obama in November, adding as many as 10 points to Obama’s tally for a total of 27%.

. White Guilt. The “white guilters” are the wild card in the coming election. They consist of Caucasians who were torn in 2008 over the long-ended horrors of slavery, felt guilty that some white guys like Thomas Jefferson owned slaves, and sought absolution for the sins of their long-dead forbears by voting for the son of Marxists.

    White guilters rarely admit . . .
