Ever hear the platitude “Lead, follow, or get out of the way?”

Well Obama CAN’T lead, he refuses to follow, and can’t seem to get out of the way….In this ONE instance he chose to get out of the Seal’s way! He HAS to make this the cornerstone of this re-election campaign…he’s got NOTHING else.

The CA nanny state marches forward!

It could soon be illegal to ride a bicycle and text if a California lawmaker gets his way.

Sen. Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto), who authored the 2008 California law mandating the use of hands-free technology while driving, has proposed extending that law to bicyclists.

Senate Bill 1475 would ban bicyclists from texting or talking without a headset.

First, let me make it clear I believe people should be smart enough to turn their mobile devices off when driving. Driving is a complex, intensive physical and mental task which requires your FULL ATTENTION. I don’t even like hands free devices – I don’t initiate calls when driving and when one comes in the first thing I say is, “I’m driving, be brief”. Then I work to end the call as quickly as possible and recontact once I’m not driving.

But bicycles? Most people are smart enough to just pull over when on one and the phone rings. If someone wants to risk their own life on a bike by talking on the cell phone will riding, I say let them! If they want to text, they’re idiots, let them risk their own life.

And how, exactly, do you text with a headset?

Anyway, this is ridiculous. I can see banning texting while driving cars – my niece nearly killed several people doing just that. But she’s a flaiming liberal moonbat so you have to understand her lack of good judgment.

  9. Sam Adams says:

    Congratulations, Democrats.

Sunday marked the three year anniversary since the Senate actually passed a budget bill.

That brave statesman, Harry Reid, has failed to act on any of the budget bills passed by the house. Further they have not made any effort to come up with a bill on their own, since they apparently don’t like what the house is offering them.

And they have the gall to demand that any American should pay more taxes.

Why can’t the law requiring congress to pass a budget every year be enforced? If Harry Reid won’t do it, he should be replaced with someone else.

Solyndra doesn’t want to clean up its toxic waste.

So much for another responsible “green” company.

Swardenski told CBS 5 the disposal process is going smoothly in Fremont, but what about nearby Milpitas? Solyndra leased a building on California Circle for the final assembly of its solar panels. But the cleanup at the leased building in Milpitas is in limbo, because Solyndra doesn’t want to pay.

CBS 5 found the building locked up, with no one around. At the back, a hazardous storage area was found. There were discarded buckets half filled with liquids and barrels labeled “hazardous waste.”

The building’s owner, a company called iStar, claimed in court documents, “there may be serious environmental, health and safety issues” at the premises. According to the documents, they include, “numerous containers of solvents and chemicals…and processing equipment contaminated with lead.”

“Essentially it looks like they left a pretty big mess behind,” San Jose State Assistant Professor Dustin Mulvaney told CBS 5. Mulvaney has written a white paper (.pdf) on solar industry waste for the Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition.

Just as the slobs who participated in Earth Day left trash and debris behind, showing their actual feelings towards “respecting” the earth, now we see a “green” company leaving behind its environmental mess.

If this were a mess left behind by Texaco, the MSM and Greenies would be yelling at the top of their lungs.

Sounds like nonsense because even a 4 hour erection can be life threatening AND there’s more:

BMW Motorcycles of Southeast Michigan in Canton, Mich., checked out the story and noted the man wasn’t riding a standard BMW motorcycle seat. He was on an after-market seat.

He purchased and installed a different seat and is blaming BMW.

    And there’s also this:

Dr. Michael Lutz, at the Michigan Institute of Urology, said there is no medical data to support the man’s claim.

Obama brags about Government Motors record profits…

… and skips over the fact they didn’t pay taxes! General Motors, in particular, paid less than zero taxes of 2011. And when the Administration brags that GM reported a $7.6 billion profit in 2011, conservatives are quick to note the profits include roughly $100 million in the form of a tax benefit document in GM’s annual report (p. 51) — and, thus, massive untaxed profits.
The outcome: GM paid a negative tax rate, around -1.5%, because of a decision allowing some of the bailout recipients, GM, AIG, and Citi, to avoid actual losses, but to still claim those losses for tax purposes.

The world is in a state of “late Great Depression,” well-known economist and author Robert Shiller told CNBC Monday. “Quantitative easing is not as prominent a policy as austerity … the effect of austerity is not crystal clear because it depends how people react to it,” Shiller said. “It might help, but I don’t know if it’s going to overwhelm the general mood of austerity which is affecting the housing market.”

Shiller said that the U.S. housing market was “really hard to forecast” at the moment, but added: “The general presumption is that home prices are going down and that’s good — it’ll make them more affordable.”

It also has an effect on changing the wind patterns, but not a significant one.

EPA region head resigns after crucifixion comment

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A regional Environmental Protection Agency chief based in Dallas resigned on Monday after a 2010 comment surfaced in which he compared his enforcement of energy companies with crucifixion.

Al Armendariz, who was the chief of EPA’s Region 6 office, sent a letter of resignation to EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson late on Sunday, which she accepted on Monday.

“I have come to the conclusion that my continued service will distract you and the agency from its important work,” Armendariz said in the letter.

A link to a video of a talk Armendariz had given in May 2010, in which he compared his strategy on energy companies that had broken the law to that of Romans taking over towns, had been circulated by lawmakers including Senator James Inhofe, a Republican.

Note how Reuters spins this event by stating that the comments were made about oil companies that had broken the law. Check out the video….he makes no such distinction. Like the Romans, the first five men were crucified without concern as to whether they had broken laws or not.

Interesting – but may just be coincidence. Still, the best way to keep someone from eventually admitting they took part in a coverup is to “tie up that loose end” quickly.

Brietbart was a candidate for a heart attack and so it’s not surprising that he wound up having one – though it’s also true it might have been induced. We will probably never know for sure but, for now and until some more substantive evidence comes to light suggesting otherwise, I’m going with the official verdict.

  22. Bob Roberts says:

When the left dreamed up “occupy” they were playing with fire. The movement became one of “the 99%” against the ruling “1%” and it was a very short distance from there to becoming an anti-Obama movement due to his running the executive branch like some sort of personal empire. His wife going on all sorts of lavish vacations, sometimes with him, sometimes alone while he golfed, didn’t help.

It would be ironic if the right was able to help steer the “occupy” movement towards the useful task of getting rid of imperial Democrats, but that’s not likely to happen.

WTC’s Freedom Tower to rise higher than Empire State building today.

The PA is even taunting the owners of the Empire State Building.
Tonight, the agency will light the new tower in a blue-and-white color scheme, in celebration of surpassing the Empire State Building’s 1,250 feet.
Those colors, sources said, are supposed to mock the Empire State Building’s controversial 2010 decision not to light the building in honor of the 100th anniversary of Mother Teresa’s birth.
The owners of the 82-year-old Empire State Building declined to comment on their rivals’ plans.
“The world’s most famous office building, the ancestor of all super-tall towers, welcomes our newer, taller cousin to the skyline,” the Empire State operators said. “We’ve watched you grow, and now we salute you.”

  26. Bob Roberts says:

At what point does this nonsense become an arrestable offense? I suppose the answer, in part, is “Once Obama and Holder no longer have any power”.

    According to Loony Louie:

America is a part of a “Synagogue of Satan”
Obama is the spokesperson for this “Synagogue of Satan” and does its bidding
Obama was “really not in favor of the attack on Gaddafi”
Colin Powell was “a black man in front of a policy to kill black people”
Obama & Powell want a “pat on the back” from their “former slave-masters and their children”
There are “bombs coming” America’s way that are self-inflicted, given the country’s foreign policy
Serving in America’s military is “fighting for the enemy”
America’s wars are “engineered by Zionists who love Israel more than America”

    Anti-Semitism, anti-Americanism, anti-military.

These are his dominant, recurrent themes.

    Abducted generations?
On Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 8 ET, Dan Rather Reports on HDNet investigates the disturbing accounts of forced adoptions.

In the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s, being an unwed mother carried a significant stigma in America. It’s now called the “baby scoop” era and during this time young women — usually in their teens — were either hidden at home, sent to live with distant relatives or quietly dispatched to maternity homes to give birth.

Estimates are as many as 1.5 million young mothers who say they were forced — some just minutes after delivery — to hand over their babies for adoption during this period. It was a decision that they seldom made on their own. Mostly, it was preordained by the young woman’s church or her parents. Often too, it was a decision that was dictated by the social customs of the time because having a baby out of wedlock was seen as a disgrace to a family.

I remember well the stigma associated with an unmarried girl getting pregnant. At the time, about 2% of babies were born to unwed mothers…er..single parent families.

How much better to have 40% of children born to unwed mothers, not including the million or so babies aborted each year.

Dan Rather is searching for relevance.

New Obama slogan has long ties to Marxism, socialism

The Obama campaign apparently didn’t look backwards into history when selecting its new campaign slogan, “Forward” — a word with a long and rich association with European Marxism.

Many Communist and radical publications and entities throughout the 19th and 20th centuries had the name “Forward!” or its foreign cognates. Wikipedia has an entire section called “Forward (generic name of socialist publications).”

“The name Forward carries a special meaning in socialist political terminology. It has been frequently used as a name for socialist, communist and other left-wing newspapers and publications,” the online encyclopedia explains.

The slogan “Forward!” reflected the conviction of European Marxists and radicals that their movements reflected the march of history, which would move forward past capitalism and into socialism and communism.

The Obama campaign released its new campaign slogan Monday in a 7-minute video. The title card has simply the word “Forward” with the “O” having the familiar Obama logo from 2008. It will be played at rallies this weekend that mark the Obama re-election campaign’s official beginning.
Actually, I’m thinking that maybe he DID consider the slogan’s history when he chose it.

Obama administration continues to press with “See something, say something” meme.

A significant three per cent of adults fall into a so-called ‘digitally dominant’ group which will mainly communicate via text, email or video calls.
It suggests technology – from smartphones to iPads – is helping to kill off physical and social interaction among those obsessed with the devices.

By removing the prescription requirement from popular drugs, the Obama administration could ease financial pressures on the overburdened Medicare system by paying for fewer doctor visits and possibly opening the door to make seniors pay a larger share of the cost of their medications.

The change could have mixed results for non-Medicare patients. Although they may not have to visit a doctor as often, they could have to dish out more money for medications because most insurance companies don’t cover over-the-counter drugs.
