After taping John Stossel’s show on March 16 in New York, the Mrs. and I took the 10 a.m. Acela back to Washington. Once we had boarded the train, who should come waddling up the aisle but Bill Kristol.

The Weekly Standard editor seemed cheerful, and we chatted about the surge in Mitt Romney’s popularity and prospects.

I did not ask what he had been doing in New York, but thanks to the website Mondoweiss, I found out. Kristol was there for a March 16 “debate” with…

A coercive system of lawless government where the least knowledgeable are always elected by personally destroying their opponents which the perpetually unimformed who adamantly refuse to sustain themselves always ignore to ensure they will be continually rewarded with never ending goods and services that are forcefuly confiscated from those who actually are knowledgeable and do produce the only wealth that is ever created which is always taken to sustain the lawless and unimformed.

    Well said Michelle…

    Watch “Idiocracy” starring Luke Wilson…

It might explain our current political environment.

    This also applies:

    “Khakistocracy”, noun, plural kak·is·toc·ra·cies.
government by the worst persons; a form of government in which the worst persons are in power.

Actually, a combination of “kleptocracy” and “khakistocracy” defines our current government the most accurately, IMHO.

  7. Sam Adams says:

Obama was elected because some people still want to believe in the tooth fairy. Despite massive evidence to the contrary, they wanted to believe that Obama would stop the rise of the oceans, would heal racial divides, and be president to all of the people.

For his part, Obama either said nothing, or simply lied. He said he would go through budget bills line by line looking for waste and abuse. No one knew that he would be looking at those bills to make sure the waste and abuse were in there, and that they were targeted for his campaign donors.

BTW, now Obama wants a “do-over” on ObamaCare. And some people will vote with the idea that this time he will get it right. Those folks are socialists and/or brain damaged.

    Another Obama Success:

Millionaire households in the U.S. fell by 129,000 to 5.13 million.

That’s right, friends; We have fewer millionaires in the US than last year. Mr. Hope and Change is reducing the number of wealthy.

    Well done; Mr. President.

“As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

Michael Tomasky: Mayor Bloomberg Is Right to Declare a War on Sugar

“There’s only one way to say something like this, and it’s loud and proud and without apology: I wholeheartedly support Mike Bloomberg’s war on sugar. It’s unassailable as policy. Refined sugar is without question the worst foodstuff in the world for human health, and high-fructose corn syrup is little better. We are a fat country getting fatter and fatter, and these mountains of refined sugar that people ingest are a big part of the reason. The costs to the health-care system are enormous, so the public interest here is ridiculously obvious. Obesity is a killer. Are we to do nothing, in the name of the “liberty” that entitles millions of people to kill themselves however they please, whatever their diabetes treatments costs their insurers? We have this “liberty” business completely backward in this country, and if Bloomberg can start rebalancing individual freedom and the public good, God bless him, I say.”

Leftwingers in Wisconsin were publishing the names of people who don’t vote, as if this was akin to be a blight on society. It turns out the guy running for Lt. Governor in the recall never voted before 2010.
