NOTE: I prepared these posts yesterday and before this open thread came up was called away to do some stuff so yeah, others have got to a few of these already.

Apparentoly Obama didn’t like the results and put out the word they needed to stop!: GALLUP SUSPENDS DAILY TRACKING POLL.

And you thought the storm surge was big: GOP voting tsunami coming.

Just imagine if Bush sent Katrina victims to the INTERNET for help: White House sends storm victims to Internet for help.

A quarter of a billion dollars and just 400 jobs?

And those jobs didn’t last: Federal job-tracking figures show only a few hundred positions were created before the company joined a growing list of federally backed energy businesses that ended in bankruptcy.

So jobs, that did not even last, were created at a cost of $300,000 each.

And even many of those jobs were known to be temporary:

The Massachusetts-based battery maker received a $249 million grant in December 2009 through President Obama’s stimulus program, of which the company received about $129 million before it went bankrupt this month. Like all other recipients of stimulus loans or grants, A123 Systems was required to report job creation statistics to
Officials also say the grant was used for manufacturing equipment, so the jobs reported included workers responsible for installing the factory equipment, but would not go on to use that equipment during the assembly process.

In 2000, a Democratic operative orchestrated an “October surprise” attack on George W. Bush, revealing that 24 years earlier, he’d been arrested for drunken driving. The media went into a feeding frenzy.

Where is the Benghazi media feeding frenzy?

Tyrone Woods was screaming for air support and Barack Obama did nothing.
Then he lied about it. Hannity later said there are three tapes the Obama administration is holding onto including audio of Tyrone Woods begging for air support.

‘Don’t ask, don’t tell is back … Obama’s new policy for questions about Libya’.

SO… how’s that GM bailout workin’ for ya?

Thanks to Obama and the Democrats gutting our military, essentially destroying our economy and cheapening the dollar we are unable to help protect our interests, and those of our allies, in this area.

A DISTURBING TREND: First in NC, now in OH, votes cast for Romney come up for Obama instead!

Joan Stevens was one of several early voters at the polls on Monday. But when Stevens tried to cast her ballot for president, she noticed a problem.

Upon selecting “Mitt Romney” on the electronic touch screen, Barack Obama’s name lit up.

It took Stevens three tries before her selection was accurately recorded.

Now what if the machines are deliberately programmed to randomly turn Romney votes into Obama votes just a small percentage of the time, but enough to ensure that Romney loses?

Are there more Benghazi e-mails, specifically some which detail why the stand-down order was issued and perhaps who was behind it?

Of course, we know who was behind it – Obama.

  19. Bob Roberts says:

ADP changed their methodology for tallying job creation. Apparently the goal is to manipulate less and actually give a true picture of what’s going on.

Naturally, the result was a significant drop in jobs created.

ADP’s new calculations put the monthly job creation at just 88,200, down from the 162,000 the firm originally reported earlier this month.

That’s approaching a 50% drop in what was previously stated.

    Guess who Obamacare exempts?

In just 14 months, Americans will be required to prove that they have federally “qualified” health insurance or face an Obamacare tax of $695 to $2,085. That is unless you are in prison, below the poverty line, or are an undocumented immigrant, according to the anti-tax group Americans for Tax Reform.

When added together, those three groups total up to one-sixth of the nation’s population of 314 million: 218,929 are in federal prisons, 12 million are illegals and 42 million are below the poverty line and eligible for welfare, though some fit into all three categories, according to federal reports.

ATR highlighted the groups eligible from the mandate to get health insurance in a mock Internal Revenue Service form they developed to show the extra paperwork Americans will be required to fill out once the full Obamacare law kicks in, January 2014. It is based on testimony from the IRS given in September that said, “taxpayers will file their tax returns reporting their health insurance coverage, and/or making a payment.”

Based on other IRS requirements, ATR said that Americans will have to show that they have health insurance “qualified” by the Department of Health and Human Services. They will also have to disclose if they were covered by a qualifying plan during the year and for how long. And they could be subject to penalties and interest on unpaid Obamacare taxes for periods they were not covered.

    The Benghazi Shuffle

So the question remains: What did President Obama do that evening (apart from spending an hour on the phone with Prime Minister Netanyahu)? What did he know, and what did he decide, and what was the basis for his decisions?

Petraeus has disclaimed responsibility for the decisions of September 11. Panetta has claimed responsibility for decisions that weren’t his to make. Both Petraeus and Panetta have raised more questions than they’ve answered. The only person who can provide the answers the American people deserve is President Obama.

Ironic – he finally gets around to talking to Netanyahu and this happens while he’s doing it.

    Can you say “landslide”?

  20. Bob Roberts says:

Another former Obama supporter weighs in.

“He’s been a piss-poor president, as far as I’m concerned.”

Though he did also state he hasn’t yet made up his mind.

Which suggests he’s going to vote for Romney, because those who are going to vote for the messiah already have made up their minds. Those who hesitate are doing so because they don’t necessarily want to vote for Mitt and are having trouble accepting that they must, but they’ll come around.

Tea Party conservatives are getting their very own news site.

Must be a slow news day…

This has pretty much been the leading theory since I was born, as far as I know.

    Blue or red?

Professor Silas Beane, a theoretical physicist at the University of Bonn in Germany said that his group of scientists have developed a way to test the ‘simulation hypothesis’.
The idea has been debated by the greats of philosphy, from Plato to Descartes, who speculated that the world we see around us could be generated by an ‘evil demon’.
The successful film franchise, The Matrix, also helped spawn the idea that what we think is our everyday life is in fact a simulation generated by an all-powerful computer.
But now more than two thousand years since Plato suggested that our senses only give us a poor reflection of objective reality, experts believe they have cracked the riddle.
Philosophers have cautioned that there is still some way to go before we find out whether the universe is simulated. Dr Peter Millican of Hertford College, Oxford told the programme: “There are two main issues, one is whether the speculation even makes sense and the other is supposing it makes sense whether there is any good reason to think it is plausible.
“The other problem is evidence. It seems to me that the evidence that is looked for is not that convincing.”
Descartes said the evil demon that he believed controlled the universe is “as clever and deceitful as he is powerful, who has directed his entire effort to misleading me.”
But he countered that his ability to think was, at least, proof enough that he was real, writing: “I think, therefore I am.”
Plato said that reality may be no more than shadows in a cave but the cave dweller, having never left the cave, may not be aware of it.

Finally (for now, anyway), remember that video from the movie about Hitler that has been parodied so many times?

  24. Bob Roberts says:

DEMOCRATS: A study in utter deceit.

Here is a chart prepared by a Democrat, obviously.

First, note that Presidents don’t control the national debt – that is CONGRESS, which has the SOLE POWER TO TAX AND SPEND. So the federal debt is directly attributable to CONGRESS.

So even presenting a chart that compares debt to which President is in office is a clear and deliberate attempt to mislead.

    But note the following:

He avoids showing prior to 1975. What was the debt in 1974? Did it go up or down in 1975 and, if it went down, why is 1975 red, not blue. Indeed look at all the following years:

1976, 1986, 1992, 2005, 2007 – all years that debt went down but since Republican Presidents were in office he shows the debt arrow for these years as going up, not down.

Plus the number he uses for 2008 appears to be incorrect.

Finally note he stops at 2008 and doesn’t show how, under Obama, debt as skyrocketed such that, under Obama, spending and debt have reached levels that dwarf ALL THE PREVIOUS SPENDING AND DEBT UNDER ALL PREVIOUS PRESIDENTS.

    Plus note these years:

1978, 1980, 1999 – all years debt went up but since it’s under a Democrat President he showed the debt arrow going down, not up.

While there are exceptions, if you bother to check, you will find that most debt/spending increases occur when Democrats hold one or both houses of Congress and most debt/spending decreases occur when Republicans hold one or both houses, I believe.

Now it’s true Republicans have “compromised” because Democrats have locked up govenment and managed to blame them too often. But, in general, Republican fiscal policy tends to beat that of Democrats in all ways.
