    Same-Sex Marriage Won’t Be Enough
[After my divorce,] I met my new partner, and she had just had a baby, and that baby’s biological father is my brother, and my daughter’s biological father is a man who lives in Russia, and my adopted son also considers him his father. So the five parents break down into two groups of three…. And really, I would like to live in a legal system that is capable of reflecting that reality. And I don’t think that’s compatible with the institution of marriage.

Just in case O Care doesn’t cost enough, the administration just slapped an extra 3.5 percent tax on premiums
Fees charged for use of the federal exchange come on top of a separate annual fee to be imposed on health insurance companies to help offset the cost of expanding coverage under the new law. The annual fees, to be apportioned among insurers according to their shares of the nation’s health insurance market, are expected to total $6 billion in 2014 and more than $100 billion over 10 years.

“Any new fees to pay for the administration of exchanges will add to the cost of coverage,” said Robert E. Zirkelbach, a spokesman for America’s Health Insurance Plans, a trade group.

I knew this would happen! I was sickened when the Obama administration suddenly feigned concern about veterans with psychological issues, such as PTSD. It’s going to become evident, that Obama’s only concern was to IDENTIFY these people, so that he could use it against them later. Now look what’s happening:

“Should veterans deemed too mentally incompetent to handle their own financial affairs be prevented from buying a gun?

The issue, for a time last week, threatened to become the biggest sticking point in a $631 billion defense bill for reshaping a military that is disengaging from a decade of warfare.

Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., sought to amend the bill to stop the Veterans Affairs Department from putting the names of veterans deemed too mentally incompetent to handle their finances into the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, which prohibits them from buying or owning firearms.

Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., objected, saying the measure would make it easier for veterans with mental illness to own a gun, endangering themselves and others.”

Dreaming of a Bleak Christmas and New Year? Then Happy Holidays from President Obama.

This year, in addition to asking to saddle us and future generations with trillions more debt, he has a special present he is giving to America that will stay with us for many years to come — and that is the largest tax increases we’ve ever had:

The poor (single, $0-$8,375) (married filing jointly, $0-$16,750) now pay only 10%, thanks to the Bush era tax cuts. When Obama lets the country fall over the fiscal cliff by raising taxes on January 1, 2013, these folks will get a whopping 50% tax increase and pay 15% in taxes.

Middle class singles making between $34,850 – $82,400 and marrieds making above $58,200-$137,300 will also see their taxes rise 3% as Obama moves them from 25% taxes to the 28% bracket. That couple making $80,000 combined could have used an extra $2,400.

Upper middle class singles making between $82,400-$171,850 and marrieds filing jointly between $140,600 – $209,250 will also get a 3% tax hike as they go from 28% to 33%. That couple making $150,000 and trying to put 2 kids through school probably could have used that extra $4,500 they’ll be paying directly to get closer to their fair share.

Seniors and retirees who have fixed incomes from dividends will get hit with Mr. Obama’s increases on dividend taxes from 15% to 39.6%. If someone needs to sell stock to pay for a wedding, college or finance a new home, they will also pay 5% more in long term capital gains, courtesy of Mr. Obama.

And these are only taxes for those lucky enough to have jobs. With tax increases and Obamacare taxes going into effect on higher wage earners and businesses, the unemployment, as bad as it is, will skyrocket even further, as businesses will be forced to let workers go. But people will still have to pay their taxes.

Obama, don’t you know people are hurting? You once said in 2009 “you don’t raise taxes on anybody during a recession.” We’ve been in a recession since you took office. Why are you raising taxes on the American people now? What are they going to do. Stop your bickering and make permanent the Bush era tax cuts for everyone. Cut spending now and stop killing our future.

  17. Bob Roberts says:

Do as I say, not as I do.

Tree huggers and “the 99%” have reason to join in opposition to Obama.

As Americans face a fiscal cliff, the Obamas make do with 54 Christmas trees.

Amazing how a reelection can reshape an incumbent’s thinking about many things. Now safely ensconced in the White House for 49 more months, the Obamas have decorated the place with 54 Christmas trees this year.
Even allowing for the usual Washington excesses with taxpayer money, that’s a whole grove of Christmas trees.
“We have 54 trees in the White House,” an excited Michelle Obama proudly told visitors the other day. “54! That’s a lot of trees.”
In fact, the Obamas’ 54 trees this year are almost 50% more Christmas trees than last year. That was during the campaign before Obama whispered a reminder to the Russians that he had to be careful until Nov. 6, when a victory would give him more “flexibility.”
Now, how much carbon do you suppose those 54 trees could be sequestering had they not been chopped by this green president?

  18. Bob Roberts says:

In addition to 54 Christmas trees, Michelle Obama has overseen the placement of thousands of ornaments in public rooms. Many of the ornaments celebrate the Obama family dog, Bo, who seems to have become the First Family’s favorite symbol of Christmas.
There’s several hundred yards of garlands and wreaths all over the hallways and rooms. And, of course, a traditional gingerbread house that has working chandeliers and weighs about 300 pounds.
Last year, according to Mrs. Obama, some 90,000 visitors viewed her White House decorations. The irony is this year the main residents of the White House won’t be there for most of the holiday period and for both major holidays.
According to notices distributed to residents of an exclusive waterfront neighborhood in Hawaii, they can expect to enjoy restricted access and other inconveniences to their homes and normal lives from Dec. 17 through Jan. 6. That’s about a 50% longer holiday vacation than last year.

Obama Aide: With These Republicans, ‘There’d Still be Slavery’ Today

Funny, since Obama and the Democrats are re-instituting slavery in two classes: First, the class that is enslaved by scraps from their table and all they have to do is keep voting Democrat. Second, the class that is forced, with a gun to their head, to keep paying for it all with what they’ve rightfully earned for themselves, not to be ‘redistributed’ to those who’ve done nothing to deserve it.

Harvard approves student group devoted to kinky sex on campus

The group promotes “a positive and accurate understanding of alternative sexualities and kink on campus, as well as to create a space where college-age adults may reach out to their peers and feel accepted in their own sexuality,” according to the school website.
The 30-student club acknowledges that kink is often associated with BDSM — bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, and sadism and masochism — but the group doesn’t seek to define “kink” and accepts “students with any kinky interest,” the club’s constitution says.
“No other group exists as a forum for students interested in alternative sexualities to explore their identities and develop a community with their peers,” the group says on the school website.
The group will have privacy standards for its members, its constitution says.
Formal recognition allows the group to receive grants, post campus notices, and use campus meeting spaces, according to a profile of the group in the school newspaper, The Harvard Crimson.

Group to Sue EPA to Force Backdoor Cap-and-Trade, Raise Fuel Prices

Apparently, gas isn’t expensive enough yet-at least for one environmental interest group that is now suing the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to force the creation of Cap-and-Trade. The Institute for Policy Integrity at the New York University School of Law last week told EPA to expect the lawsuit.
“They want to make cheap energy expensive, so that expensive energy will seem cheap,” said Ryan Houck, executive director of Free Market America.
“We’ve seen this play before, and inventing fictitious markets that traffic imaginary products is bad enough. But asking the EPA to assume quasi-legislative powers so that it can unilaterally enact Cap-in-Trade is a deeply troubling step, even for radical environmentalists. Proponents of this lawsuit absurdly cite Hurricane Sandy as a reason for Cap-and-Trade.

I believe a year or two back I mentioned the collusion between environmental groups and the EPA, whereby the environmentalist group sues the EPA, and the EPA, rather than go to court (is the ostensible rationale), “settles” with the plaintiff — thereby creating new environmental policy while circumventing Congress and keeping their hands clean from accusation of bureaucratic edict. This is by design, and the suits themselves merely ruses for the settlements that follow.
It is my understanding that this kind of thing is routine — and yet another studies corruption of our system being exploited by the tyrants who pose as our moral champions.

House GOP makes a $2.2 trillion debt counteroffer to Obama on cliff

House Republican leaders on Monday made a counteroffer to President Obama in the “fiscal cliff” negotiations, proposing to cut $2.2 trillion with a combination of spending cuts, entitlement reforms and $800 billion in new tax revenue.

Republican officials said the offer was based on a proposal outlined by Erskine Bowles, who served as chief of staff to former President Clinton, in testimony last year before the congressional “supercommittee” on deficit reduction.

Personally the cuts aren’t deep enough and I suspect the taxes are too steep.

The GOP offer is a response to Obama’s opening bid, which called for $1.6 trillion in tax increases and reducing the power of Congress to block an increase in the debt ceiling.

Obama is asking to be allowed to blatantly usurp the Constitution which places the power of the purse in the hands of CONGRESS. Obama wants to take it, which would be disastrous.

    Obamacare “very costly”

Increasingly clear Obama comfortable going off cliff – that’s likely his plan and was all along.

Now that Obamacare has been rammed down and going forward, Obama and minions going after nationalizing 401k’s and pensions next.

“A representative of the liberal Pension Rights Center, Rebecca Davis, testified that the government needs to get involved because 401k plans and IRAs are unfair to poor people. She demanded the Obama administration set up a “government-sponsored program administered by the PBGC (the governments’ Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation).” She proclaimed that even “private annuities are problematic.”

Such “reforms” would effectively end private retirement accounts in America, Crone warns. “These people want the government to require that ultimately all Americans buy these government annuities instead of saving or investing on their own. The Government could then take these trillions of dollars and redistribute it through this new national retirement system.”

Deputy Treasury Secretary J. Mark Iwry, who presided over the hearing, is a long-time critic of 401k plans because he believes they benefit the rich. He also appears to be one of the Administration’s point man on this issue.”

    We’re soooo screwed.
