Profiles in Countermoonbattery: Tim Thomas

Bowing to Jesus has earned Tim Tebow derisive contempt from the liberal establishment. Conversely, star goalie Tim Thomas of the champion Boston Bruins has earned the same — by refusing to bow to the Moonbat Messiah:

Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas says he didn’t attend the White House ceremony with President Barack Obama honoring the team for its 2011 Stanley Cup Championship because he believes the federal government “has grown out of control” and threatens rights and liberties.

Thomas said on his Facebook page Monday night he was exercising his rights. He said it wasn’t “about politics or party,” and he blames both political parties.

Like many others not pleased with either party lately, Thomas is of the countermoonbat persuasion — much to the dismay of liberal establishment sportsyappers like Joe Haggerty.

After denouncing Thomas as “pretty radical” for not buying into the global warming hoax, he opines:

Thomas has always seemed to lean very far to the right perhaps reaching all the way over to radical tea party range with his personal politics, and there’s no doubting it played into his decision. …

“I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People,” said Thomas in a statement. “This is being done at the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial level. This is in direct opposition to the Constitution and the Founding Fathers vision for the Federal government.”

The funny thing is that the Hollywood-actress thin statement brought very little to the table beyond tea party rhetoric.

Thomas is accused of not participating in Obama’s photo op because he is not a team player.

Thomas was playing for himself first and the team second. He’s obviously captured a Stanley Cup with that mentality, but it seemed to again be the case on Monday at the White House.

Forget your convictions and do what your rulers tell you is best for the herd. This is liberalism in a nutshell.

Other sportslibs were less sophisticated in their attacks. Here’s what TSN’s Dave Hodge had to tweet:

Apparently Hodge is suggesting that since Thomas wouldn’t kiss Obama’s ring, he must be a secret member of the KKK.

There is no haven from moonbattery, not even in sports. That’s why we have to fight it.

Thomas isn’t kneeling for Obama.

On tips from Shawn, RICH, TheWrightWing, and Gregory of Yardale.

I bet if he refused to meet with GWB when he was in office, say to protest the Iraq war, the left would call him a true hero or brave in his convictions.

  2. StanInTexas says:

Free Speech is all fine and well, so long as the speech is what LIBERALS think it shoudl be.

Classy move there, attacking his CHILDREN to make a political point!

  3. RICH says:

Tim Thomas has his pulse on what is NOT being reported by the mainstream media. If you want to understand, then stop listening to the liberal controlled propaganda emanating from your TV’s. Our country is and has been heading in the wrong direction. Yes it started in Bush’s late second term but has gotten exponentially worse under Obama. Massive government power grabs, record debt and welfare with no end in sight. We are turning into the United Socialist States of America. If we simply did some research and disect what he’s talking about, we’d probably conclude that his “radical” beliefs are much more real than we thought. Tim Thomas isn’t putting himself before others, he is putting his country before everything else. I applaude him for standing up for what he knows is right. Although his style is unorthodox at times, he is an outstanding goal tender and citizen.

  4. Very true Akrob (Politely thanks DB for the acknowledgement).

  5. Hagansport says:

If I was Tim and the next time I met up with Dave Hodge I’d remind him that there’s another word that begins with K and it’s KNOCKOUT!!!!!!

  6. RICH says:

Great find on the KKK point. Have these people no shame? If you stand up for what you believe is right, but you’re against the mainstream mentality, you will get knocked down. Fascism in action.

  7. good knight says:

“to lean very far to the right perhaps reaching all the way over to radical tea party range”

I’ve seen this tactic pulled a thousand times by radical leftist progressives and so-called “liberal independents”.
Portray your opponent (in this case everyday average americans, conservatives and populist constitutionalists” as radical right in a feeble attempt to move radical leftist policy and agenda toward the right and considered mainstream centrist.

While even so-called “liberal independents” are minority leftist fringe group of everyday independents and are even left of those that label themselves Democrat-independent.

Koby, Kory, Kacy , and Kody

    Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney.

  9. rickyd says:

God Bless you Mr. Thomas. My gosh……………..a man of conviction besides being a hell of a goalie.

  10. RICH says:

    Have Dodge… hahaha… nice.

  11. rickyd says:

And another thing. Hodge lives in Socialist Canada so he doesn’t have a thing to do with Barry and his angry wife. Vancouver use to be a wonderful city………now watch video of when they lost the Stanley Cup last year! Freaking losers.

  12. Kronos says:

Thomas was playing for himself first, just like during the season. Some teammates have gone so far as to call him a puck-hog.

  13. BigJoe says:

Good for him! As a Flyers fan I don’t like the Bruins, or much about New England for that matter, but for this he has my support and thanks!!!

  14. h. says:

    He’s a goalie dipshit.

  15. StanInTexas says:

Kronos, as a golie, being a “puck-hog” IS HIS JOB.

If you are going to try to insult a person, at least put a little effort into it, instead of mindlessly parroting what other people tell you!

  16. Agnostic Conservative says:

Dave Hodge’s nickname in high school was Kunt Kunt Kunt.

  17. RICH says:

I thought Kronos’ post was funny. Please tell me it was a joke. If not; FACEPALM.

  18. Jan says:

As Time Thomas is vilified here’s some liberal hypocrisy on display:

When the Red Sox won the World Series in both 2004 and 2007 their uber-Democrat GM Theo Epstein refused to join his team at the White House when Bush was President. By some fantastic coincidence this was passed over and ignored by the press here in Boston.

  19. Ogrrre says:

I had five kids whose first initials were A B S E S. That does not mean I am in favor of infections, boils and eruptions. (Yes, I know that type is spelled “abscess”) Only a commucrat would think that the kids’ first initials signified anything other than the fact that those were the names liked by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas. I wonder what Hodge would have stated if the Thomases had four or more children whose first initials were all “K”? No wonder Hodge is a member of the Dumbasscrat Party.

  20. Ogrrre says:

My bad just above. Hodge is a citizen (subject?) of Canada, and therefore not legally able to be a member of the Dumbasscrat Party. But, given the propensities and practices of ACORN and other Dumbasscrat voter registration organizations, he may very well be registered to vote in this country. After all, if necro-Americans, illegal aliens, cartoon characters, and convicted felons are all registered to vote, why not Canadians?

  21. Kronos says:

@RICH – yeah it was a joke, but don’t be surprised if you hear it on MSNBC later as “news”

  22. Logic Mine says:

Really DAVE ? You’re going to go there?!

Okay, let’s go there. He may have three children whose names begin with the letter “K” but it didn’t seem to bother the Democratic Party that much by allowing a person who ACTUALLY WAS A GRAND DRAGON FOR THE KKK (…That’s Ku Klux Klan just in case your mistaken) as a MEMBER of the DEMOCRATIC PARTY!!!!

So go soak your head in the nearest freshly used toilet you race baiting sack of SH**!!

  23. Kronos says:

I’l see your Kiley, Kelsey and Keegan and raise you a Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie, which I believe is a full house, sucker.

  24. Lucky13 says:

He’s a white man playing a white man’s sport. No K’s needed Joe! Look in the mirror Joe! Your racist!

  25. jim says:
