Rand Paul Stands Firm

At least one Republican in Washington gets it. Too bad it isn’t the hapless and unprincipled speaker of the House. Rand Paul would rather follow Obama’s legislative tradition of voting “present” than leave GOP fingerprints on the coming tax hike that will tip us back into recession:

“I think if we go halfway, or we split the difference with [Obama], then both parties have their hands on it. When we go into recession, it’ll be confusing [regarding who caused it].”

Split the difference? Obama doesn’t compromise. Why should he, when he is up against pushovers like Boehner?

If all Republicans had Rand Paul’s spine and clarity, the GOP wouldn’t be suffering from an identity crisis and voter turnout problems.

On a tip from Ghost of FA Hayek.

We already know how this is going to end. Anybody want to put up some bets on how long it takes Boo-Hoo Boehner to fold like a cheap suit?

  2. Highway Hospital Student says:

Boehner is exactly why the republicans are where they are today– a bunch of gutless, pandering, quivering RINO amoebae.

……..Ready to cave in at a stern glance from the liberal keepers of politically-correct national bankruptcy.

Boehner marks up failure after failure.

An honorable man would step down—without weeping.

Who says they are the “party of the poor” ?

Charity represents competition to this government.

The Land of the Free is as dead as a opossum pancake out on Route 3. Murdered by the scummy communist cheaters. My main focus until I eventually meet my demise is making certain my grandson has the skills to live in a country of liberal-zombie liars, murderers, & thieves.

If they had Paul’s courage and brains, we would have the WH and the whole congress! Perhaps he and Allen West should start another party. I wouldn’t be surprised if they put the republican party out of business.

Effective Jan 1, 2013, aspirin will be heavily taxed under Obamacare. The only explanation given was that they are white and they work.

Dear Readers, please refer to the Open Thread which follows this one, if you want a solution.

Rand Paul might want to read it too.

    The GOP has finished.

THe republican party put itself out of business in Tampa, as it told it’s duely elected delagates, “We don’t hear you or want you.” The yeas ans nays… didn’t hear it. The calls from the floor for a roll call vote, and “Point of Order!” were just ignored because it wasn’t part of these republicans,(i.e.)progressives agenda. May the Grand Old Party, rest in peace. For me, I’ll seek Liberty, where it might be found. It’s not currently found in the GOP.

Don’t call it a new third party but the New Party. Canada did it and I think Japan is doing it. It can be done.

Surprises me but I agree with Sen. Rand Paul.

Due to the Presidency and the Senate being in DEMONcratic hands Taxes are going to be raised – either by going off the fiscal cliff as they call it or by the Doomsday Option where all Republicans need to sit on their hands during the votes in both houses and vote PRESENT. Let the DEMONcrats own their own warped policies. Sure, it will mean the economy gettinig worse for awhile, but those who have prepared will do just fine, while the fools who voted for the Moonbat Messiah will be screaming like stuck pigs. Then in 2014 and 2016 people whill have had 2-4 years to see what evil leftist policies result in.
