Starbucks Says It Will Hire 10,000 Refugees

Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz must have decided that his company did not have a sufficiently irritating corporate image. So he took steps:

Starbucks says it will hire 10,000 refugees over the next five years, a response to President Donald Trump’s indefinite suspension of Syrian refugees and temporary travel bans that apply to six other Muslim-majority nations.

Soon, in addition to smugness and moonbattery, you may also have to deal with poisoned coffee, as Starbucks gives special hiring priority to people with a grudge against the infidel. Dunkin’ Donuts looks better all the time.

On tips from J and Mr. Freemarket.

I am glad that I do not drink expensive coffee.

  2. THOUGHTCRIMINAL2084 says:

Starbucks soon to introduce Blood of infidels flavored coffee at all of its locations.

  3. OldSailor says:

10,000 refugees to get Starbucks jobs. How many US citizens are going to be fired to free up those positions?

People ask me why I don’t take my business to Starbucks, price is only one of the reasons.

  4. Troy McClure says:

The odds that 10,000 refugees would ever line up and apply? I’d say about ZERO.

  5. clendenon says:

You can’t do that Mr. CEO. It’s against the law since it discriminates against non-refugees. It’s like saying “my company will hire 10,000 white people”. Civil rights works both ways.

  6. Auburn Rapunzel says:

New policies that will happen, because they have happened where Muslims become a significant part of the business:

    1. Halal-only foods.
    2. Persons with service dogs (seeing-eye, etc.) will be refused service.
    3. Discriminatory practices galore against fellow employees, new hires, and customers.
    4. Prayer rugs replacing at least some tables (because they must have their space to pray!).
    5. Other employees forced into “sensitivity training”, or fired, every time they do something that triggers their Muslim co-workers.

Media Malpractice in the Coverage of Donald Trump’s Immigration Executive Order
Throughout the weekend, major journalists have called Donald Trump’s executive order a “ban on Muslims” when it objectively is not. It is little different, in fact, from what Barack Obama did in 2011 when he halted immigration from Iraq pending a review of the approval process.

Likewise, with 52 countries having an Islamic population of 50% or higher, and this ban only affecting seven of those countries, this cannot be called a Muslim ban. What this plan is, is a remarkable scaling back of Donald Trump’s campaign promise. In fact, had Trump talked about this plan on the campaign trail, I suspect the coverage would not be so overblown. But the media is committing malpractice by equating what Trump has implemented to his Muslim ban.

And that gets to the heart of the matter. There are serious problems with Trump’s immigration order that the media is not focusing on and should focus on that they are ignoring while misrepresenting what the order does.

The order was put in place without consultation from major departments including State, Defense, Justice, and Homeland Security.
The White House staff did not allow review or editing from agencies before authorization.
The staff level, without consulting Secretary Kelly, rejected a provision on green card holders that caused further complications.
The executive order was not drafted clearly and concisely. It was objectively a muddled mess.
The guidance from the White House to enforce the order was virtually non-existent.
The White House failed to brief anyone, including Congress, on the executive order before it was released and announced the intentions of the executive order before the text was widely circulated. This caused all sorts of confusion.

If the media intends to drive up the Trump-related hysteria to 11 on a ten point scale for the next four years, they are going to miss lots of real stories and cause lots of people to tune out.

Ah but those people are better than we the great unwashed, concerned about Terrorism.. Thus they don’t have to follow the rules. /s

  9. Tchhht!!! says:

I love the aroma of good coffee, but that Starbucks swill smells rancid and burned to me.

  10. magic1114 says:

Like these welfare wanting “refugees” will ever apply for a job… It seems to me that their #1 job is being a pain in the ass!

  11. grayjohn says:

Any Liberal business can take a stand, and so can I by going elsewhere.

  12. jeffunde says:

Isn’t this the same dip Sh!t that tried to get his employees to talk about race relations will making their coffee?

  13. EVERYDAY PRESIDENT ☆ ᵀᴿᵁᴹᴾ says:

Like I care. I have been to Starbucks to have coffee maybe twice. Hated them from the start. Have tasted their nasty coffee which tasted fake with a lingering vanilla flavor I did not ask for. Probably to hide the inferior quality of the beans.

I’m sure libs won’t mind getting nasty coffee “doctored up” by moslems though.

IF Starbucks can find any willing to do the job.

  14. Patti says:

I don’t care who they hire as long as they have legal permission to work in this country. However, if I don’t like the way employees act toward me, I wouldn’t be back. (I wouldn’t pay that much for a cup of chai anyway LOL)

  15. JackisBack says:

Would you like your double mocha latte with or without fecal matter?

  16. Mack says:

McDonald’s began taking its coffee seriously several years ago, and brew a good, honest cuppa joe that tastes much better than that burnt-flavored Famous Name Brand, and costs much less.

“Starbucks Says It Will Hire 10,000 Refugees”
    —that’s reason #6,972,436 to BOYCOTT STARBUCKS !!!!!!!

GOTTA WONDER: does the new policy mean they will now FIRE some of the blacks and woman who now get preference in jobs there ?????

  18. Auburn Rapunzel says:

Their hot cocoa is far better, too.

  19. Auburn Rapunzel says:

You don’t understand! The new edition of the Left Wing Talking Points Dictionary describes discrimination as something that can only be done against people who are not “privileged”–a.k.a., straight white Christian males. No, you can literally torture them in the public eye while stating you’re doing it because of those things, and it’s still not discrimination.

Tumblr says it so it must be true.

  20. WolfNippleChips says:

Snowflakes are gonna pretty pissed when they graduate with that Art History degree and find out that their Starbucks career path has been blocked.

  21. Agrippa says:

Indeed, the new McCafe coffee is excellent, 100% arabica, with great flavor. Also Dunkin’ has improved their coffee recently, and theirs costs much less than Starbutt’s way over-priced stuff. Boycott these a’holes until they crash and burn in Chapter 11 bankruptcy! Buh-bye and good riddance!

  22. Buffalobob says:

Refugees from 3 rd world countries may not have the best hygiene standards. Thing about it snowflakes, did you barista use the bathroom before they handled your double mocha grandee? Did they wipe with their left or right hand?

  23. JeffersonSpinningInGrave says:

Yes. I believe it was indeed the same dipsh!t.

  24. JeffersonSpinningInGrave says:

McDonald’s as a corporation is steeped in moonbattery, too. I think most big corporations are, though.

  25. BPatMann says:

I’ll bet they will have a blast!

  26. geeknerd says:

Order the breakfast items with PORK while you still can!

Didn’t the anti-Trump protesters DESTROY a Starbucks in DC? The CEO can bend over and grab his ankles for the loony-Left, but they’ll STILL wreck he stores.

  27. JayMS says:

I wish I could say I was boycotting StarSucks, but Dunkin Donuts opened here a few years ago and I never looked back.

StarSucks wants muzz refugees? Great! I couldn’t be happier. Bacon on the breakfast sandwich? not happening. Morning commuter rush interferes with prayer time? Gonna love watching that play out. Jewish customers? no service! Not to mention the protests, threats, lawsuits, riots, etc when StarSucks doesn’t sufficiently kowtow and grovel to Islam

  28. ICEvictim says:

I always considered those places snobberies for the Type A wannabes that will never afford the $200,000 sailboat or the $750,000 house with Two Mercedes in the drive. They can be “seen” sipping overpriced coffee by their fellow wannabes thus gaining the American equivalent of “face”.

  29. ICEvictim says:

    LOL! [and oh how true!]

  30. TED says:

I never understood starbucks, I have a coffee maker, it was cheap, Folgers, & Maxwell house are cheap too. It’s still cheap if I buy the occasional bag of Kona coffee.

  44. The Deplorable EtoculusDei says:

Hire Americans First: That’s who buys your ridiculously expensive burnt coffee.

A record 94,708,000 Americans were not in the labor force in May — 664,000 more than in April — and the labor force participation rate dropped two-tenths of a point to 62.6 percent, near its 38-year low, the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics reported on Friday.

When President Obama took office in January 2009, 80,529,000 Americans were not participating in the labor force; since then, 14,179,000 Americans have left the workforce — some of them retiring and some just quitting because they can’t find work.

  45. ICEvictim says:

right on bt2000! For road coffee we just get a McD’s on the fly as needed. Truck stop coffee is a crap shoot at best. Some is really good but we’ve tossed more than one cup of it. Dunkin Donuts has some good brew if you have the time to stop in for it.

Starbucks and Caribou customers come in two types as I see them – folks with no where to go and wannabes.

  46. […] would you rather get coffee, at a place that impudently promised to hire 10,000 refugees (presumably mainly from terrorist breeding grounds), or a place that promised to hire 10,000 […]

  47. […] for Angela Merkel’s “let them all in” approach by announcing that it would hire 10,000 refugees at the expense of unemployed Americans. This turned out not to be such a wise business […]
