The Nail That Stands Up Gets Hammered Down

There’s one downside to Rick Santorum’s impressive performance in Iowa. The liberal establishment media will now come after him like a swarm of winged scorpions. Here’s a sample of he has to look forward to:

Racist! Papist!! Homophobe!!!

In a few years CNN will be demonizing guys like Santorum for disapproving of pedophilia.

On a tip from Shawn.

First they have to use pedophilia to destroy the Catholic Church, THEN it will be time to turn around and legalize it. (At which point the pedophile priests will be rewritten into history as oppressed martyrs.)

  2. lao says:

For starters, listen to his own words…

Santorum singles out Blacks for entitlement reform

after which we get the spin…

    Santorum Denies Saying ‘Black People’

but do you think he convinced O Reilly?

    Or anybody else?

  3. Belfast says:

    Lao proves the headline.

  4. nobody says:

Hey Van/Dave (I get so confused….) Check out the fact that the Progressive Liberal Prisses even admit it.

    GAME ON!

  5. TonyD95B says:

So Ann Curry feels so threatened by Rick Santorum she is suggesting he be fed into a grinder?

In her own words: “But now after a strong second-place showing in Iowa, he’s about to face the meat grinder of tough scrutiny for the first time.”

H#ll, why stop there? Next she’ll be suggesting Conservatives be killed using a wood chipper.

This is not “hyperbole” or a figure of speech as the Left will claim. It is a known fact that Leftist hero Saddam Hussein used to have his political enemies torn to pieces in an industrial plastic recycling grinder.

At least she didn’t say, “Crosshairs!!!!”

    So much for “civility”.

Santorum has likely peaked in popularity. Just tonight he was booed off a stage in NH by college Republicans over his stance on “same-sex marriage.” I would argue that he doing the country a favor by publicly stating his views on social issues and opening up debate on important topics. He is mostly in line with Catholic teaching on social issues, but unfortunately he isn’t well enough grounded in Catholic reasoning to defend them articulately. Many people are, but only two or three are in politics (Thad McCotter seems to be one).

In a country founded on Protestant values and taught a Protestant version of history, and now one that is largely post-Christian, anything remotely related to Catholic teaching will sound absolutely alien. The historical fruits of Protestantism have played out in what has inevitably become secular/progressive Europe and America. We are completing the full transition from Protestantism to Paganism (now called many things including Naturalism, Materialism, Secularism…), and the Church is once again facing her first and most formidable enemy.

It does seem, as many predicted, that the only thing to counter the complete domination of secularism is the classical, Rationalist, Realist philosophy of Aristotle and Aquinas — the Catholic Church. The Church is the only thing on this side of the fight that has intellectual legs to stand on. This is the coming battle that good people have been sensing for some time. Santorum, for all his effort, can only state these truths superficially; but it’s a start.

I’m so sick of all this PC. So what! I can think of another name for blacks and it’s not African American. There’s no such thing unless you immigrated here legally. Same goes for the rest! And a homosexual is a faggot and nothing less. So take your PC and wrap it in barbed wire and perch on it. Santorum is a decent guy so now I guess it’s his turn to get mauled by the demons. My problem is these guys need to stop putting up with this BS muckraking and stand up
for what’s RIGHT! I’m sick of seeing the evil prix tramp all over decent people. Damn I can’t wait till NOV. And I hope the new candidate rips a new one on these MSM clowns. So glad I don’t own a tv. Soooo glad.

What IL said works for me.

  9. Jay B. says:

Mark Dave’s words. In less than a decade, people will be mocked for opposing pedophilia.

  10. Mrs. C says:

Santorum is a RINO, just like Romney.

In 2004, he joined George W. Bush to help re-elect Senator Arlen Specter over Pat Toomey. Santorum says no one is more pro-life than he, yet he backed pro-choice Specter over pro-life — and later to become 2010 Tea Party favorite — Toomey in a Republican primary. And by the way, the very liberal Specter later defected to the Democratic Party, giving Obama the filibuster-proof majority he needed to pass Obamacare.
Santorum championed No Child Left Behind.
Santorum helped Bush push through a new and wildly expensive entitlement, the Medicare prescription drug bill.
He voted for the USA Patriot Act, then voted to renew it four years later.
Santorum voted in favor of the Homeland Security Act of 2002, which established the Department of Homeland Security.
Santorum voted for the 2005 highway bill that included thousands of wasteful earmarks, including the Bridge to Nowhere; and he supported every Pennsylvania pork-laden bill that came up.
Santorum believes it’s the government’s job to legislate morality and has no concept off what the 10th Amendment means.
Santorum is no friend of the 2nd Amendment either. In the 1990s, he voted for the Lautenberg Gun Ban, which stripped for life the rights of people to own guns if they spanked their children or grabbed their spouse’s wrist. In 1999, he voted for a bill that required Federal background checks at gun shows. In 2005, he voted to mandate locks on handguns. He has campaigned for anti-gun zealots like Specter and New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman. He has refused to return his Gun Rights Presidential Survey to the National Association for Gun Rights and his Gun Owners of America Presidential Survey.
He backed the Iraq war and has advocated bombing Iran.
Santorum is the ultimate Washington insider. Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington named him among the three most corrupt Senators in 2005 and 2006 for using his office to financially benefit those who had contributed to his campaign.
Within weeks of leaving Congress, Santorum had a job on K-Street as a lobbyist and his 2010 income of more than $1 million included payments from a lobbying firm, an energy company engaged in controversial “hydrofracking” and a hospital conglomerate that was sued for allegedly defrauding the Federal government.

  11. Fiberal says:

One can see the appeal of Ronpaul when looking at Santorum and his weepy approach to entitlements and concern over issues that mean little relative to shredding government and hammering home sound economic policy.

Not Romney’s strong points either, but as Ann Coulter points out, by comparison, Santorum is more of a middle-manager than a president.

The Fiberal Ultra Conservative Kenyan Impeachment Team reluctantly, unfortunately still supports Romney.

  12. RICH says:

I do like Santorum but Romney has the best chance of unthroning Beelzebama. That is priority number one. Everything else is gravy.

  13. Dupree says:

Lao, should we care what the black community thinks about the Republican candidates? The vast majority are racists who will to vote for Obama anyways, just because he is black.

  14. lao says:

Dupree, you should care that Santorum feels it’s important to try to lamely spin his way out of what he said.

  15. Sgt Stadenko says:

When did “black” become a pejorative racist term?

    This is a serious question.

  16. Dupree says:

With the vile liberal media spin and defamation and lapdogs like lao, of couse public figures tiptoe around language. But of course, the Left only makes the rules, they don’t have to follow them.

  17. lao says:

Try noticing how Bill O’Reilly frames his query to Santorum.

…but you threw in “black people” when, as you know, most of the people on welfare are white people.

  18. TonyD95B says:

“…but you threw in “black people” when, as you know, most of the people on welfare are white people.”

When compared to the proportions in the general population, there are a higher percentage of blacks and hispanics than whites on welfare / public assistance. There are some clear geographic as well as demographic patterns as well.

The Left plays it’s usual game with “double standards” here – supposedly race shouldn’t matter.

So, if it doesn’t matter, why does the Left always tell us how much it matters?

As I always say, logic and irony is lost on the Left.
