Yet Another Hidden Cost of ObamaCare

Nasty Pelousy said we would have to wait until after they had rammed ObamaCare down our throats before we could find out what lay within those 2,700 pages of power grab. But we still don’t know how much it will cost. Day by day, we are finding out:

Supermarket owners argue a pending federal food-labeling rule that stems from the new health care law would overburden thousands of grocers and convenience store owners — to the tune of $1 billion in the first year alone.

These costs will be passed along to you the consumer. No doubt John Roberts would call them a tax.

The proposed regulation would require store owners to label prepared, unpackaged foods found in salad bars and food bars, soups and bakery items. Erik Lieberman, regulatory counsel at the Food Marketing Institute, said testing foods for nutritional data will require either expensive software or even more costly off-site laboratory assessments.

Lieberman said failure to get it right comes with stiff penalties: “If you get it wrong, it’s a federal crime, and you could face jail time and thousands of dollars worth of fines.”

The monstrous bills Democrats have been shoving through against public resistance are only outlines. The true horrors will come to light as the details are worked out by scuttling armies of unaccountable bureaucrats.

The smirk that will sink millions of household budgets.

On a tip from Bob Roberts.

When will the “shock” and “surprise” end? Everything this
monstrous Cloward-Piven Ideologue has put in place is designed to collapse the United States.

Not one thing he has done was to improve the nation, only setting yet more kindling at the pilings of its foundation ready to be set alight. It is beyond obvious now.

They are already implementing the next phase as the opposition is still analyzing their past actions and discovering the extent of the undermining. It is like looking in amazement at the work of hordes of termites while they have already moved on to the next part of the house.

So in the name of “public health” instead of picking up that prepared salad, or fruit container, people must now reach for the pre packaged doughnuts, the candy bars, chips ect.
Well at least they have “nutrition” labels on them.

Think about it: You can go to prison because you didn’t put a label on food.

    Food fascism come to life.

  6. Henry says:

“There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.”

I think the most important point, which we MUST find a way to communicate effectively and repeatedly, is that this was sold as a way to help the middle class and the poor, to help seniors on limited, fixed budgets, yet they will be the ones most adversely impacted by it. From death panels, which ARE a reality, to all the many costs which will crush those struggling just to get by, this was perhaps one of the best examples of the worst government can be.

I’ve admitted we live in a police state for decades.

We do so willingly to avoid the sort of nonsense you see in Europe and the Middle East, yet Democrats are determined to see that we are reduced to their level regardless, giving us THE WORST OF BOTH WORLDS.

Well we all know what is going to happen because of this crap!. You can forget getting food at your favorite grocery store deli, or convenience store. Not mention anything found at movie theaters or roach coaches. Soon fast food will be out and then all you will be able to buy will be some type of green soy cubes in some crumbling city market place that is over populated by sheeple
