The city’s Cultural Affairs Committee has demanded the eviction of George Washington and Christopher Columbus and others from public spaces because of links to slavery, along with the establishment of a reparations task force.

Meanwhile, the city is flat broke, having flushed away $12 billion on being a sanctuary for illegal aliens at the expense of the native population. Ten thousand grasping invaders pour into the declining city every month. No worries; federal taxpayers are sure to bail it out.

The Committee plans to remove any public statue or work of art that ‘depicts a person who owned enslaved persons or directly benefited economically from slavery, or who participated in systemic crimes against indigenous peoples or other crimes against humanity’.

From the liberal viewpoint, that means anyone who lived at the time of the nation’s founding.

Dozens of prominent statues across the city are at risk including those depicting Thomas Jefferson and former governor Peter Stuyvesant.

By erasing our history, they erase our identity. Then they can create a new identity as a nation of farm animals content to stay in their pens so long as they are fed free slop until it is time for a trip to the slaughterhouse.

As Todd Starnes jokes,

There are multiple statues and monuments to Washington, including Washington Square Park and the George Washington Bridge. It’s unclear whether the park and bridge will be leveled or just simply renamed.

At this point, maybe they should level the whole city and start over.

After the Father of Our Country has had his hero status revoked, he will be defiled and demonized before he is frog-marched to the memory hole and forgotten. Maybe the authorities will decide he impregnated a slave. That is a favorite liberal calumny against the author of the Declaration of Independence, whose statue leftists have already removed from City Hall.

Catholic University appeared to shrug off responsibility for the painting Monday, telling The Daily Signal that artist Kelly Latimore’s painting “Mama” depicts “the Virgin Mary supporting the body of the dead Christ”—although the artist has indicated repeatedly that his painting depicts both Floyd and Jesus.

Equating Jesus Christ with a career criminal who died of a fentanyl overdose while resisting arrest makes “Piss Christ” almost reverential by comparison.

Students who came to Catholic University of America expecting respect for the Christian faith are kept in check by woke educrats:

“The icon has no place at The Catholic University of America; it is blasphemous and an offense to the Catholic faith, but it is not surprising at all that it was put there,” a junior at Catholic University told The Daily Signal in an email. “It is just another symptom of the liberalization and secularization of our campus.”

“There are many students, faculty, and staff who are concerned about this, but there is nothing we can do,” added the student, who asked to remain anonymous out of fear of reprisal from the university administration. “And if we sound the alarm, we will be labeled racists.”

The student added this:

“The chaplain and the rest of Campus Ministry seem to think that their liberal version of social justice is the highest virtue, even more important than authentic expressions of the Catholic faith.”

The liberal version of social justice is their faith. You can only have one.

There is more to this than childish blasphemy for its own sake. The artwork represents a transition from what Christians worship to what liberals worship.

Tragically, leftists have denigrated our national heroes, and Black Lives Matter thugs have torn down their statues, often with the tacit approval of local Democrat authorities. New statues will replace them. These will represent the values not of the American people, but of our liberal ruling class. For example, Newark, New Jersey has blazed a trail deeper into our national decline by erecting a 700-pound bronze statue of George Floyd in front of City Hall.

Barks Mayor Ras Baraka:

“Hopefully when people walk by and they see it, and they participate, hopefully it inspires them to become active in the struggles that are happening right here in Newark and right here in New Jersey.”

Given that Floyd’s death was exploited as a pretext for hundreds of race riots that prominently featured looting and arson, the mayor’s message is a warning for any remaining business owners to get out of Newark while other parts of the country remain relatively civilized.

George Floyd was a violent career criminal whose record included robbing a pregnant woman at gunpoint. Because he was resisting arrest when a combination of severe heart disease, Covid, and a massive dose of fentanyl killed him, his death was exploited for a cultural Marxist attack on Caucasians, local law enforcement, our system of justice, and America in general.

Floyd is celebrated for personifying America’s death, just as Columbus and Washington were once celebrated for personifying its birth.

T.C. Williams High School, the subject of the movie “Remember the Titans,” will be renamed because its namesake, Thomas Chambliss Williams, held segregationist views.

Anyone who ever held views inconsistent with up-to-the-moment woke dogma is to be canceled, regardless of their accomplishments. “Liberalism” is a zero-tolerance ideology.

The Alexandria City School Board voted to rename the school as part of the ever-escalating War on History. What they will rename it to remains undetermined.

Among the 50 possible names for T.C. Williams are “George Floyd Memorial High School,” “Ruth Bader Ginsburg High School,” “Kamala Harris High School,” and “Diversity High School.”

Diversity High is good. They could make another movie about the school: a prequel to PCU.

A document on the school board’s website notes that it did not include feedback from students and parents who suggested keeping the names as they are, “due to the fact that the Alexandria City School Board has already voted to change the names.”

Alexandria’s Matthew Maury Elementary School is getting a name change too, its namesake —an oceanographer who lived in the 19th century — having recently been found guilty of political incorrectness. Possible new names include “Black Lives Matter Elementary School.” Nothing gets schoolchildren off on the right foot like naming their school after an explicitly antifamily organization founded by avowed Marxists that caused $billions in damages with hundreds of riots.

A committee formed by D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser issued a report Tuesday recommending the removal, relocation, or contextualization of the Washington Monument and a number of federal monuments and buildings in Washington, DC.

Bowser formed the District of Columbia Facilities and Commemorative Expressions, or “DC FACES” committee in July, to study assets in D.C. named after individuals to “ensure these individuals reflect contemporary DC values,” according to the report.

“Contemporary DC values” in this context is synonymous with “ultraradical Black Lives Matter dogma.”

Like most left-wing political initiatives nowadays, the purge is explicitly racist:

The committee was asked to make recommendations if a namesake is “inconsistent with DC values and in some way encouraged the oppression of African Americans and other communities of color or contributed to our long history of systemic racism.”

Historical giants slated for the memory hole include Christopher Columbus, Benjamin Franklin, Andrew Jackson, and Thomas Jefferson in addition to George Washington, after whom the city is named.

It isn’t just monuments they are after:

The committee also recommended renaming a number of other assets, including: public schools; residential buildings and campuses; community and recreational centers; parks, fields and playgrounds; government buildings; streets, roads and bridges; landmarks, and commemorative works; and statues and memorials.

“In all instances we believe strongly that all District of Columbia owned public spaces, facilities and commemorative works should only honor those individuals who exemplified those values such as equity, opportunity and diversity that DC residents hold dear,” it said.

The Caucasians who created America were not diverse, so they will be consigned to oblivion.

This is why Bowser had BLACK LIVES MATTER painted in giant yellow letters on 16th Street leading to the White House. She shares the ideology and the objectives of the terrorists who have been tearing down statues of the Founding Fathers throughout the country.

After all the mayhem — with riots in cities including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York City, Phoenix, Portland, Richmond, Seattle, St Louis, and Washington — I have yet to see any evidence that race was a factor in the death of George Floyd. We don’t even know if the police killed him. Evidence accrues that it was fentanyl.

According to a report from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, the figurehead of the Black Lives Matter religion had in his system “a fatal level of fentanyl under normal circumstances.”

Multiple factors contributed to his death. He had COVID-19. He also had methamphetamine in his system. A fourth factor was that he got into a struggle with police by resisting arrest.

The fentanyl could have been primary.

“[Dr. Andrew Baker] said that if Mr. Floyd had been found dead in his home (or anywhere else) and there were no other contributing factors he would conclude that it was an overdose death,” said the June 1 memo, according to KMSP-TV.

It would be nice to think this will help the officers involved get a fair trial. But given that the Minnesota Attorney General is a leftist radical who has supported Antifa and Nation of Islam, a fair trial may be too much to hope for.

All of the violence, the property destroyed, the lives up in smoke — it was all based on a contrived pretext. Even if the police did kill Floyd, the event would not be even remotely representative of the police on the whole, much less society on the whole.

The liberal elitists who control the media/Democratic Party have deployed the underclass to wage physical war against the middle class in the name of a phony narrative based on assumptions and lies.

The media says Black Lives Matter protesters are mostly peaceful. Nonetheless, you won’t get much sleep if they invade your neighborhood — as residents learned in an upscale DC neighborhood Sunday night:

Black Lives Matter protesters marched down the streets of residential Georgetown slightly before midnight on Saturday night and screamed, “Wake your ass up!” One person is seen using a megaphone and shrieking, “If we don’t get no justice, then you don’t get no sleep!” Others are banging metal pots to wake people up.

These tactics are not likely to engender affection for the cause. But the protesters aren’t trying to get people to like them. Most residents of liberal Georgetown probably already do. They want people to fear and obey them.

The protesters demanded people who were dining outside to raise their fists to “declare your loyalty” to black lives. A majority of diners raised their fists as the mob looked on. However, some of the diners did not raise their hands, and the group’s leader attempted to intimidate them by calling them out. The group’s leader said those who didn’t raise their fists were “racists” who would be “voting for Trump.”

Kudos to those who refused to salute. There had better be a critical mass of these August Landmessers, or this country is in for some very unpleasant times.

The leader instructed restaurants to kick out customers who don’t align with the tenets of the Black Lives Matter movement.
