A leftist mob inspired by Black Lives Matter seized effective control of Portland nearly a full year ago. Since then, it has rioted incessantly. At last Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler says he is going to take back what’s left of the city on behalf of civilization:

“They want to burn, they want bash, they want to intimidate, they want to assault,” Mayor Ted Wheeler said Friday, while announcing the city would extend its state of emergency through Monday. …

“Together we can make a stand … and take our city back.”

Lacking the spine to confront Black Lives Matter, Wheeler squeaked, “If BLM leaders can show the courage to stand up to this mob, then we all should.”

For all intents and purposes, BLM is the mob, even in Portland, where few blacks live. Antifa riots on Black Lives Matter’s behalf.

If Wheeler was trying to drive a wedge between Black Lives Matter and Antifa, he has characteristically failed.

Portland has been subjected to well over 100 riots over the past year. Mayor Ted Wheeler has forbidden the police to use tear gas to keep them under control. From September:

Wheeler, who was also gassed during a protest earlier this year, made the announcement saying “we need something different” to quell more than three months of nightly unrest in Portland following the May 25 police custody death [probably from overindulging in fentanyl] of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

However, chemical agents are okay if brandished by liberal politicians, as Wheeler did Sunday night:

Robert King, Senior Policy Advisor on Public Safety for Wheeler … notified the [Portland Police Bureau] that Wheeler had been involved in an incident in which “WHEELER used pepper spray against an unknown person.” …

According to Wheeler’s statement, he was leaving the Hillsdale McMenamin’s pub, and was confronted by a middle-aged male, who was taking video of Wheeler with a cell phone.

The male suggested he “had been photographing” Wheeler while he was inside the restaurant. The male accused Wheeler of not wearing a mask.

Presumably a constituent, the guy followed him to his car and would not get out of his face, so Wheeler “pulled out my pepper spray and I sprayed him in the eyes.”

Wouldn’t it be nice if police could do the same to rioters? Civil order might be restored.

Neither Wheeler nor [his companion former Portland mayor Sam] Adams indicated that the man who was sprayed posed an imminent threat or had physically threatened him, only that he was “in close proximity.”

But Wheeler fretted that he could have caught COVID-19 from him.

Let that be a lesson to the public. Even Ted Wheeler can be pushed only so far!

Antifa rioted in Portland for 100+ consecutive nights, while Mayor Ted Wheeler wrung his hands and bleated sympathetically. Let’s see what kind of thanks he is receiving lately:

Wheeler and a dinner companion had been seated in Café Nell’s outdoor dining area for about five minutes when a group started shouting obscenities at him from outside the tent, mayoral spokesman Jim Middaugh said in a statement.

The hecklers forced their way past restaurant employees and confronted Wheeler, who asked them to leave.

“At that point, one member of the group started swatting at the Mayor and made physical contact with him,” Middaugh said.

Wheeler was not hurt, but would be within his rights to press charges for assault, not that he is likely to.

Last summer, Antifa laid siege to his home. Only very recently has he expressed a serious willingness to restore order, after handcuffing the police and resisting outside assistance.

The lesson: there is no middle ground with Antifa. If you oppose them in the slightest way, they will regard you as the enemy.

Local media crows that Wheeler will be “the only straight white guy” on the City Council. Moonbats choose their candidates on the ostensible basis of not being straight white guys; this absolves candidates of lacking more meaningful qualifications. Their actual qualification in a place like Portland is that they are barking moonbats:

Looks like “police reform” will top the agenda. Buckle up for more anarchy.

If voter fraud fails to preserve Biden’s slim lead, the violence will be explosive — though only in the short term. Conversely, if Biden or rather Harris takes power, there will be encouragement from DC, so rioting in places like Portland will become the new normal until these cities dry up and die.

Left-wing Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler has sided with Antifa against law-abiding citizens for years. He supports the Black Lives Matter cause. A group of Black Lives Matter protesters chained themselves together inside the lobby of Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler’s condo on Friday night. The sit-in was part of a larger demonstration outside of Wheeler’s apartment, where approximately 150 people gathered to protest police brutality and racial inequality.

If having these lawless bullies attack their neighborhoods is good enough for regular citizens, it is good enough for Ted Wheeler.

The group vowed to stay locked inside the lobby until Wheeler heard their demands. The group left three hours later.

Three hours of sitting still pushes the limit of a BLM protester’s patience.

Their demands include cutting police funding by 50% by next year and abolishing the police bureau completely by the following year, so that total anarchy may reign. The money saved is to be redistributed on a racial basis to favored groups.

Also, they have a demand that may resonate with sane people: they want Wheeler to resign.

Protesters painted bloody red handprints on the windows of the lobby and put up signs that read: “Send Teddy to the Hague.”

When they have sufficient power, they won’t need the International Criminal Court in the Hague. They will just set up guillotines in the middle of the street, as they have already begun to do on a theatrical basis.

Agitators shined lights into the windows of the apartment building, and a metal band played live music outside the condos in an effort to not allow Wheeler to get sleep. The security at the condo reportedly called police, but authorities did not respond.

The police may have had more pressing concerns. Also last night, the mostly peaceful protesters set fire to the Portland Police Association building.

“Individuals wheeled multiple dumpsters into the road and lit at least one on fire. The fire was in the road and not threatening any structures. In the interest of deescalating the situation, Portland Police Bureau (PPB) officers remained out of sight,” the Portland Police Bureau said. “However, arsonists put some debris, including a large mattress, against the front door of the building, appeared to spray accelerant on it, and lit it on fire. The flames appeared to engulf the front door area of the building and nearly reach the roofline.”

However, according to the ideology summed up in Democrats’ favorite word “equity,” it doesn’t matter if men work more hours, take more dangerous or tedious jobs, et cetera. Equity entails everyone being compensated the same regardless of what they have earned.

To impose equity requires a government with absolute control over every corner of society, which explains the appeal for Democrats.

The comedian, Alex Stein, wore hospital scrubs and a surgical mask around his neck as he launched into a rhyming routine promoting vaccinations against the coronavirus, a schtick that garnered him national headlines last week when he delivered it before the Dallas City Council.

This time the mayor, visibly miffed, cut Stein off.

Maybe it’s Wheeler who broke his funny bone. The Dallas City Council let Stein go on with his act for several minutes.

The election must really be over. The well over 100 riots that have erupted in Portland since last spring having served their political purpose, Mayor Ted Wheeler is willing to put an end to them by calling in outside help:

Wheeler requested for federal, state, and county law enforcement “to convene to deal with anarchist violence as soon as possible.” He also asked for the state legislature to increase penalties for repeat offenders of criminal destruction and vandalism.

In the past, Wheeler has pandered to the leftist rioters, handcuffing the police and resisting outside assistance despite his obvious inability to handle the situation himself. He even blamed those who offered to help for creating “the hate and the division.”

Time will tell whether Democrats can get the Black Lives Matter/Antifa genie back in the bottle now that they have conjured it.

If Democrats prevail, they plan to pack the Senate by creating new states out of the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. If sanity prevails and Trump is reelected, changes to the nation’s configuration could favor Republicans. Consider Oregon:

This year’s protests in Portland and Bend, Ore., have many wondering how the Beaver State’s increasingly radicalized left will cope if President Trump is re-elected. After the 2016 election, a group of Oregonians submitted a petition for a ballot measure asking voters to consider secession. It went nowhere, but this year could be different.

Portland is an open-air lunatic asylum. Its next mayor is likely to be Sarah Iannarone, an avid Antifa supporter. She is even more radical than Ted Wheeler, who allowed riots to go on for over 100 consecutive nights.

Bend is just as bent:

Consider the hysterical reaction of locals and election officials in Bend when Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents attempted to take two illegal aliens into custody in August. Hundreds of protesters blocked ICE buses, and a 12-hour standoff ensued before agents could remove the men.

Bend’s political establishment defended the protesters.

Both of the illegals have criminal records that include violence against women. But anything goes if you are in the country illegally.

The kooks in places like Portland and Bend will go ballistic if Trump is reelected. Leftists have the time horizon of small children, making them incapable of dealing with temporary setbacks. If they demand their own country, to be run along the lines of Seattle’s CHAZ/CHOP, they are welcome to it.

Several right-wing groups are gathering signatures from residents of 15 Eastern Oregon counties that have had enough of this coastal insanity. They want either to become part of Idaho or form a new state with rural counties of Northern California.

Such a state might be called Jefferson, after one of the Founding Fathers the woke so hate.

Western Oregon is blue as a San Francisco bathhouse. In the eastern part of the state, every day is the Fourth of July. As in California, the state government is dominated by the more densely populated moonbat-infested areas, leaving the rest unrepresented.

Imagine—if Mr. Trump wins, the bluest part of Oregon could forgo becoming a new state and go straight to establishing an independent country, where far-out progressive policies can be road-tested.

That would be good for some grim laughs. Meanwhile, the remaining part of Oregon would reliably provide two Republican Senators. If Portlandia fails to secede but Oregon splits into two states, the GOP would again get two Senators.

All of this sounds less improbable than it would have a year ago. It is becoming increasingly obvious that Biden voters and Trump voters do not belong under the same government.

There is one good thing about Portland. At least it can’t get any worse. Under Antifa-friendly Mayor Ted Wheeler, the city has degenerated as far into moonbattery as could possibly be imagined, with riots taking place literally every night for months on end.

Between the three of them, Mao, Stalin, and communist executioner Che Guevara killed tens of millions of people. In terms of body count, Mao is the evilest man who has ever lived; Stalin comes in second.

Iannarone’s campaign manager Gregory McKelvey openly identifies as a communist. Iannarone herself identifies as Antifa, literally proclaiming, “I am Antifa.”

At least she doesn’t leave anyone guessing as to which side she takes in the one-sided war between leftist terrorists and law enforcement. From her campaign website:

For weeks we witnessed Federal officers commit acts of violence against Portlanders in our streets… Before Trump’s secret police left the city, Portland’s current mayor failed for months to prevent Portland’s police from violently attacking journalists and protestors exercising their Constitutional rights. These failures represent a devastating reality that we must unseat in November. …

Under Wheeler’s watch, 71% of Portlanders do not have a high level of trust in the police, and 79% believe the PPB only sometimes, rarely, or never does a good job reducing or preventing crime. It is time to stop wasting money and stop putting good money after bad.

Portland is already a place where you might be shot in the street like Aaron Danielson for not being a leftist. Imagine the chaos after Iannarone defunds the police.

Reducing the budget of the PPB doesn’t mean there’s nobody there when you call for help. It means more funds available for the alternative types of assistance you may need. We have enough money to help everyone feel safe, and that money should be invested in better housing, transportation, education, health care, and social services that lead to real public safety.

When Marxists start burning your house down in the name of Black Lives Matter, you can call social services, and they will send around a social worker in a couple of weeks to chastise you for your racism.

Now for the really scary part. According to the polls, the communist crazy lady is going to win in a blowout:

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler trails his challenger Sarah Iannarone by 11 points, according to a poll of likely voters conducted by DHM Research on behalf of the Portland Business Alliance.

Some national polls have Biden up by even more.

If current trends are not reversed, Portland is our near future. Maybe it is a good thing that border wall never got finished, because the last sane people are going to want out of here.

Despite Biden finally issuing a vague and tepid condemnation of the political violence that has been going on for months (while absurdly trying to blame it on Trump), the Democrat Party has affiliated itself with Black Lives Matter from its beginnings during the Obama/Biden Administration. The party’s endorsement was made official by the Democrat National Committee, and made into a pageant during the Democratic National Convention, after BLM had become synonymous with rioting. It should surprise no one that a Democrat staffer in the state legislature was arrested for interfering with a police officer during the BLM-inspired rioting that has disfigured Portland on a nightly basis for the past 2 months:

The police arrested Kristina Narayan, who is legislative director for the top Democrat in Oregon’s House of Representatives, along with 58 others during a riot that began Saturday night and continued into Sunday morning, according to a Portland Police Bureau report. Narayan has worked for House Speaker Tina Kotek since 2016.

Yet another riot was declared after the mostly peaceful protesters threw a firebomb at the police, in addition to rocks, fireworks, and mortars.

Leaders on both the right and the left have condemned the Portland City Council and Mayor Ted Wheeler (D.) for “endorsing” the riots and destruction.

Neither Narayan nor Wheeler is the most prominent Democrat to support the riots and the toxic ideology that drives them. As noted earlier, Kamala Harris has raised money to bail out violent felons so they can resume rioting. She is effectively still at it:

Harris called on her followers to donate to the Minnesota Freedom Fund (MFF) in a June 1 tweet, saying that contributions to the fund would help post bail for people arrested during protests against the police-custody death of George Floyd, which sparked nationwide unrest and riots across the country.

The fundraising page Harris linked to in her tweet, which contains a picture of Harris and the slogan for her former presidential campaign, is still actively accepting donations. The Daily Caller News Foundation verified Harris’s link was still active by making a $1 contribution through the page Thursday afternoon.

Among the people that MFF bailed out of jail after Floyd’s death include Jaleel Stallings, who according to Fox9 faces attempted murder charges for shooting at members of a SWAT Team during riots in late May.

Stallings is far from the only suspected sociopath to be set loose upon the public thanks to the MFF.

At least 13 Biden staffers have donated their money to this riot-facilitating organization.

The initial propaganda blast following George Floyd’s overindulgence in fentanyl spooked the herd into a stampede that made Black Lives Matter seem like a safe side to take. But hitching the Democrat Party cart to a mob of Marxist rioters may not pay off so well with the public, now that an awareness of what BLM actually stands for has begun to permeate the media’s spin.

After not only validating but inciting Black Lives Matter violence for months on end, conspicuously refusing to put a stop to it where they have local control, shunning federal help when offered by Trump, and showily associating themselves with Black Lives Matter at the Democratic National Convention, Democrats learned from opinion polls that American voters don’t share their enthusiasm for burning the country down. So now they are blaming Trump for the riots:

Multiple Democrats on Sunday said President Donald Trump was responsible for inciting violence in Democrat-run cities.

Party apparatchiks were deployed to the Sunday shows, all reading from the same phony script as usual. Just as we were asked to believe that an obscure “Islamophobic” video was to blame for Benghazi, we are now told that Donald Trump is the cause of leftist domestic terrorism.

In reality,

Trump has repeatedly called for “law and order” and offered federal support to cities that are struggling with riots. Some local Democratic leaders, however, have refused federal assistance—Portland mayor Ted Wheeler, whose city has faced violent protests for more than three months, turned down Trump’s offer of federal support on Friday. The mayor previously said that he plans to let the violence “burn itself out.”

However, congressional Democrats agree that Trump has been trying to aggravate the violence. Adam Schiff says the purpose of sending in National Guard to stop the violence is to inflame the violence. Karen Bass says Trump will “do everything to disrupt law and order.”

As recently as August 15, after the riots had been going on for nearly 3 months, Trump proclaimed that “there needs to be unrest in the streets for as long as there’s unrest in our lives.” No wait, that was another congressional Democrat, Ayanna Pressley.

Since Biden doesn’t come out of his spider hole very often, we have to make the most of it when he does. He spoke in Pittsburgh yesterday, enlightening us as to the history of COVID-19 over the past hundred years. He also confirmed that yes, Donald Trump is to blame for left-wing violence, which he has been “stroking”:

A bill is under consideration that would make Minnesota a sanctuary state for subjecting children to horrific procedures, including genital removal surgery, that are banned in more civilized parts of the country. Governor Tim Waltz signed an executive order supporting sexual mutilation on behalf of transsexualism. Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan is on board with the agenda:

Flanagan addressed the crowd as she wore a shirt that read “Protect Trans Kids” with a picture of a dagger on it.

Actually, they are more likely to use scalpels than daggers to cut off children’s genitals so as to recruit them for life into the politicized ranks of the sexually abnormal, but close enough.

“Let’s be clear: this is life-affirming and life-saving health care,” she declared. “When our children tell us who they are, it is our job as grown-ups to listen and to believe them. That’s what it means to be a good parent.”

A primary duty of parents is to protect their children from depraved fiends like Waltz and Flanagan. This duty will become increasingly difficult as leftist kooks consolidate power. Flanagan’s rhetoric implies the threat that if you are not a good parent, the state may have to intervene.

Lest they be subjected to procedures that would have sent Josef Mengele himself rushing toward the restroom with vomit spurting from between his fingers, parents may have to make plans to get their kids out of jurisdictions that have succumbed to moonbattery. The federal government has already weighed in on sex change surgery for children, with the figurehead of the liberal establishment declaring this satanic procedure “close to sinful” not to inflict. If effective pushback doesn’t start soon, bugout plans may have to involve not just other states but other countries.
