Unlike most Black Lives Matter violence, this has resulted in an arrest.

Fox News security spotted the suspect, later identified as Craig Tamanaha, climbing the 50-foot-tall tree at the center of Fox Square just after midnight. The Sixth Avenue and 48th Street location is in the heart of Midtown.

Tamanaha’s résumé features homelessness and arrests for drug possession and public intoxication.

The red, white and blue-themed tree was 50 feet high, decorated with 10,000 glass ornaments and 100,000 lights. It took workers 21 hours to assemble the decorations.

No matter how much time and effort it takes decent people to create something, lowlifes can usually destroy it easily.

An arson investigation has been launched after the Christmas tree at Oakland’s Jack London Square was partially damaged in a fire early Monday morning.

The flames did more damage to the lighting than to the 55-foot tree itself. It is unclear whether the official tree lighting will still take place Saturday as scheduled. A potential suspect fled the scene on a bicycle.

After the liberal establishment spent most of 2020 egging on rioting, which is now socially acceptable if associated with a left-wing cause, it would be naive not to expect a surge in arson and vandalism by the dregs of society.

On Friday, just over a week before Christmas, the Wallingford-Swarthmore school district in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, issued a memo to school bus drivers saying, “If you have decorated your bus with anything specific to the Christmas Holiday or any other decorations relating to a specific religion, please remove them immediately.”

Clothing that reminds people of Christmas was also banned.

A note adds that the policy is not specific to school bus drivers but “APPLIES TO ALL DISTRICT EMPLOYEES.”

Failing to exclude people who celebrate Christmas would not be “inclusive,” per liberal ideology.

The ultimate objective is to eradicate not only Christmas and not only Christianity but our entire culture, so that it may be replaced with unmitigated moonbattery. The War on Christmas is part of a broader campaign of cultural genocide.

According to Fox 29 Philadelphia, the school district clarified Friday night that their intent was “not clear” and reversed the ban on holiday decorations and clothing, emphasizing instead a need for bus drivers to create “an inclusive environment.”

Regarding Turtle Island,

Turtle Island is a name for Earth or North America, used by some Indigenous peoples, as well as by some Indigenous rights activists.

While the Christmas tree lightning ceremony was under attack, the police actually arrested someone for vandalizing the Starbucks. The only one arrested was Aly Youssef:

Youssef described himself as a transgender, polyamorous, pansexual, anti-capitalist, autistic Egyptian who is an “honorary member of Trantifa” (a name for transgender Antifa members).

Whether Starbucks would cooperate to allow prosecution was unclear. Most likely, Youssef will go unpunished, with a feather in his/her/its cap to flaunt on social media.

Even apparatchiks like John Cornyn — who pushed Juneteenth as a federal holiday — know they can’t keep piling up holidays indefinitely, because if they don’t come to work at all, they can’t steal our money and micromanage our lives. When they decree a new holiday in honor of our official state religion (i.e., moonbattery), it is meant to replace an old holiday honoring the culture they are systematically eradicating. For example:

The largest hospital system in Georgia, Emory Healthcare, has scrapped Christmas Eve from its paid holiday calendar and added Juneteenth. Employees will now have to use paid time off to celebrate the December holiday.

The change, announced August 31, will also let employees earn extra holiday pay for working on Juneteenth—but not on Christmas Eve.

Lest anyone miss that this represents a triumph for leftism,

“We hope this will allow more opportunities for celebration, reflection, and education,” Emory Healthcare CEO Joon Sup Lee wrote in an email to employees. “[D]iversity, equity, and inclusion at Emory Healthcare (EHC) is about creating an environment of true belonging for our patients and team members, while ensuring equitable outcomes for all.”

Such replacements are starting in the private sector due to the more urgent need to get some work done. Then they will spread to the government.

If all goes according to the agenda, Christmas Eve will be forgotten. Holidays used to be holy days. In utopia, they will be unholy days set aside for leftist purposes, as with Juneteenth (or as Jason Whitlock aptly calls it, George Floyd Day), which rewards Black Lives Matter rioters and provides a certain community with a pretext to indulge in even more mayhem than usual.

The policy will leave the hospital short staffed just when its services are most in demand:

Domenick Nati told Insider that he plugged his electric car into a supercharger on Friday when it was 19 degrees outside. The car’s battery level was at 40% at the time.

“Two hours went by and not much changed,” Nati told the outlet. “It was very slow and the numbers got lower as the temperature dropped. Eventually, it stopped charging altogether.”

Then he tried at home, and then at another supercharger. No luck; probably too cold. He had to cancel his Christmas plans and could not see family because the pricey car was down to a 19-mile range.

Sunday morning, Nati told Fox Business that he still had not heard back from Tesla and that his car still would not charge.

Others have had similar problems. Too bad global warming hasn’t been living up to the hype. Then it wouldn’t be so cold.

Our moonbat rulers have made it clear they intend to allow only electric vehicles, on the grounds that according to their ideology, real cars make it be too hot outside. Meanwhile,

The event featured routines that ridiculed Christmas and innocence.

“Crystal Methyd” danced to a song called “S&M” and afterwords had a creepy conversation with children in the audience.

“Oh! A child. Hi! How are you? Oh, it’s another one,” he said as he collected dollar bills from the kids.

The drag queen continued, “Are you having fun, are you enjoying it, are you confused yet?”

Moving on, “Crystal Methyd” talked to a 10-year-old boy who said he’d been to more drag shows than he could count and watched Ru Paul with his family.

It only takes one squeaky wheel to get traditions greased.

You probably already guessed what would become of Craig Tamanaha, the derelict with a lengthy rap sheet who captured the progressive spirit by setting fire to the patriotically themed 50-foot Christmas tree in front of Fox News headquarters in New York early Wednesday morning. That’s right; released without bail:

[Tamanaha] was freed after his arraignment Wednesday night because his charges were not eligible for bail under new liberal reform laws.

Moonbats whooped with delight to see the tree go up in dense black smoke in front of the building that houses not only Fox News but also the Wall Street Journal and the New York Post.

Arson, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, and criminal trespass are among the charges faced by Tamanaha, assuming he ever shows up in court to face them. None of these crimes are considered serious enough in New York to warrant keeping him off the street.

Arson only counts as a big deal if the intent is to harm someone physically or if it is a “hate crime” — i.e., if the victim is a member of an identity group favored by the ruling class. Hatred of Christmas, Christians, and Fox News does not count as hate, because our liberal overlords hate them too.

Two open warrants for desk appearance tickets were also vacated by the judge.

Looks like Tamanaha will have to go full Darrell Brooks before authorities will put him in a cage where he belongs.

He was captured on camera moments after pulling down his pants to show his privates on the first day of the high-profile trial of Jeffrey Epstein’s former girlfriend, said Jeenah Moon, a freelance journalist.
