Al Gore’s Massive Energy Consumption

Global warming profiteer Al Gore’s An Convenient Sequel is currently showing in theaters, making this an opportune time to examine the lifestyle of the self-righteous crusader who demands that we dramatically lower our standard of living so as not to offend the planet with harmless carbon emissions:

In just this past year, Gore burned through enough energy to power the typical American household for more than 21 years, according to a new report by the National Center for Public Policy Research. The former vice president consumed 230,889 kilowatt hours (kWh) at his Nashville residence, which includes his home, pool and driveway entry gate electricity meters. A typical family uses an average of 10,812 kWh of electricity per year, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. …

Last September alone, Gore devoured 30,993 kWh of electricity. That’s enough to power 34 average American homes for a month. Over the last 12 months, Gore used more electricity just heating his outdoor swimming pool than six typical homes use in a year.

When the original A Convenient Lie came out, Gore was ridiculed for his Godzilla-sized carbon footprint. He vowed to mend his ways, ostentatiously blowing over a quarter $million greenifying his Nashville mansion. As always with these sanctimonious gestures, it is unlikely the polar bears will notice much difference. For example, he put in solar panels…

Those 33 solar panels generate about 12,000 kWh of electricity a year – way more than enough energy to power a typical American household. Gore is such an enormous energy hog, however, that his gigantic rooftop solar array produces just 5.7 percent of the electricity he uses in his home, or enough to power his home for a measly 21 days a year.

Gore spends $22,000 per year on energy for his Nashville residence (he also owns two others), the vast majority of which is generated by the Tennessee Valley Authority’s nuclear, coal, and natural gas plants. Yet he has been brazenly lying to the media that his mansion uses 100% renewable energy.

If moonbats can swallow this hypocritical blowhard’s shtick, they can convince themselves of anything whatsoever.

I guess it hasn’t occurred to Gore that he can turn the lights off when he’s not in the room.

Al, you lost in 2000, but look at you now. $millions$, houses, private jet, Nobel prize, worshiped by globalists and Marxists everywhere. You’ve won! Just stay at home (or homes) and take a massage once in a while.

    G. B. Shaw wrote a play called Geneva (1936) just prior to WWII. It used the characters of Hitler, Franco, and Mussolini to state their philosophical justifications for their acts and just before Hitler starts WWII there is a Deus ex mechina to prevent the war.
If you are interested look it up.

Hey he is keeping americans working pumping natural gas, and even better, American coal to run the power plants. a win win for all.

  8. Pork_Soda says:

He may be crazy but that sham artist sure made a shite load of money.

  9. BPatMann says:

Maybe he got some carbon offset credits. I get mine at – it’s great because I go 100,000,000 carbon offset credits and they were totally free! With those credits, I could fly a private 747 around the world 1000 times and I’d still be helping the world! I am such a humanitarian that it almost makes me cry when I think about it.

  10. BPatMann says:

I bought solar panels for my house when the salesman said that they would pay for themselves in five years. It has been five years now, so why is the solar panel finance company threatening me with a lawsuit?

You and Al Gore should do a DNA test.
