Ammo Shortage for Marines

As Big Government spends $1.5 million investigating why most lesbians are obese and the Department of Homeland Security acquires enough ammunition for domestic use to sustain a hot war for 20+ years, the Marines still hanging out to dry in Afghanistan for political purposes have been told to “save every round” because the slight temporary reduction in the rate of increase of government spending entailed in the sequester spectacle supposedly renders the military unable to pay for bullets. No really, I’m serious:

The leader of the Marine Corps urged personnel to preserve ammunition and gasoline to brace for automatic spending cuts in Washington which are about to hit the Pentagon.

‘Save every round, every gallon of gas,’ Marine Corps Commandant James Amos told service members in a video that went live on YouTube on Friday.

Couldn’t they borrow some ammo from Uncle Mort? Or does she expect to be needing her literally billions of rounds right away?

To state the obvious, something is wrong here.

Uncle Mort’s alarming ammo requirements take priority.

I wonder how many rounds could be purchased for our brave and dedicated warriors if the Marxist-in-Chief and his fat-assed wife took fewer vacations?

I also wonder how long it’s going to take our brave and dedicated warriors to figure out how very little their govt. actually cares about them? Every single one of them should simply shoulder their weapons, get on a plane, and come home. Let the elected lying crooks go and build nations.

    WTF

“Tell Sarah Palin to Renounce Her Extremist Comments

Sarah Palin recently declared that the United States Federal Government is “stockpiling bullets” to use against Americans.

Accusing our government of actively stockpiling weapons to use against its own people is not only offensive and wrong — it’s downright dangerous. For Sarah Palin to insinuate that the United States is similar to the tyrannical governments in Syria and Iran who do carry out those types of atrocities is completely reprehensible.

Enough! Use the form on the right to stand with the Democratic Governor’s Association and demand that Sarah Palin apologize for her outrageous comments.”

Well, they why IS out government stockpiling ammo, if not for this reason?

The esteemed Moonbats at the NRA have this to say on the topic:

You may recently have seen some in the Internet rumor mill feverishly repeating the obvious truth above, in an effort to stir up fear about recent acquisitions of ammunition by the Department of Homeland Security and a number of smaller agencies. The mildest writers have questioned why seemingly mundane agencies would need ammunition at all; more incendiary authors suggest that these government agencies are preparing for a war with the American people.

Much of the concern stems from a lack of understanding of the law enforcement functions carried about by officers in small federal agencies. These agents have the power to make arrests and execute warrants, just like their better-known counterparts at agencies like the FBI.

As most gun owners will agree, skepticism of government is healthy. But today, there are more than enough actual threats to the Second Amendment to keep gun owners busy. With two key Supreme Court decisions hanging by a one-vote margin, the Justice Department deeply involved in a cover-up of a disastrous Mexican gun smuggling operation, and President Obama touting a ban on popular semi-automatic firearms, there is no need to invent additional threats to our rights.

    Damn moonbat Obummer shills

  13. Skyfall says:

I guess this comes down to people just not being able to believe what they see because it’s so far-fetched.

    @SaltRifle.
Please re-read what the anti-gun crowd has been saying. Yes they really do want to ban ALL firearms. And what part of the word ALL has you confused. They will go door to door to confiscate your “hunting” guns. Also they are willing to kill you. They, the Dept of Homeland Security and the other federal depts have listed any one who is not a full supporter of TPTB and a worshiper of antichrist Obama as a terrorist. Civil war is coming. The drones, the MRAPs and the 1.6 Billion rounds of hollow point ammo are but one purpose; to wage war on the American public who did not vote for antichrist Obama, and those useful idiots who are no longer needed.

Maybe you could read the NRA article I quoted from and linked to. Duh!
Winston Smith says:Why dont they borrow some of those millions of round from DHS. They have quite a stockpile
No they don’t. They haven’t bought them yet. They’ve entered into a 5 year supply agreement, to be supplied as-needed. There is no stockpile.
Jeff says: … anti-gun crowd … door to door … confiscate … kill you … worshiper … antichrist … terrorist … Civil war … drones … wage war on the American public …. antichrist …. idiots.

The NRA is not the ‘anti-gun crowd’. They say you’re nuts. I say you’re nuts. You are the stereotype nutter that responsible gun owners fear most. Rants like yours push more Americans towards gun control than anything Obama could come up with. Hell I wouldn’t want you living in my neighborhood either.

Take a deep breath, unload your guns, put them away somewhere safe before you hurt yourself or someone else, and seriously chill out.

Unfortunately 40 cal S&W hollowpoints don’t fit well into the AR-15 magazines. Sometimes the bullets also get stuck going down the barrels.

BTW, hollowpoints are illegal to use in warfare. They can only be used domestically.

  26. Sam Adams says:

    BTW….why are lesbians fat?

  27. fav says:

and they can’t borrow any of the 1.6 Billion bullets from the government because it is against NATO regulations to use hollow point bullets in war.

  28. Sam Adams says:

You know….if the government really can’t afford ammo for the Marines, that could explain a lot. No help was sent into Benghazi because we just didn’t have any ammo left of the shelf for a fire fight.

Also, Fast and Furious was an effort to sell guns to Mexican gangs because we didn’t have any ammo to put in those guns either.

Here’s an idea…how about a bake sale to buy some ammo? In fact, I have a couple of boxes I would be proud to donate to our fighting men and women.

  29. SaltRifle says:

Soft or hollowpoint ammo is not banned by a “NATO Regulation” they’ve been banned since the Hague convention in 1899.

They’re not useful in modern high velocity rifles but they’re used by law enforcement in handguns since they stop in the target and don’t pass through and cause collateral injury. Rather important if you’re an air marshal or have to take someone out in a crowd

    ___________

Does that mean that I shouldn’t buy any .223 hollowpoint for my evil black gun?

  31. SaltRifle says:

Sorry, I didn’t phrase that well. Should have said not as useful,

A handgun with it’s lower velocity needs a soft/hollow point to expand. It’s not necessary in a rifle as various bonded jacket designs and the higher velocity can achieve the same effect without fragmenting. Depends on what you want to do with it and whether you want to use the fur or meat afterwards

    ——–

Acually you have it backwards. The purpose of a hollow point is to expand thus widening the bullet path ergo maximizing bodily harm whilst limiting the possibility of overpenitration. Hence that’s why they call hollow points self defence rounds. However, some ballistics experts recommend FMJ rounds in the smaller calibers such as .380 ACP because of the slower velocities and low ft/lbs of energy produced via a handgun. Instances where a .380 JHP may not produce the necessary penetration (especially if it hits bone) the FMJ will.
