Andrew Cuomo Discards Choice

If you think the socialist overlord of the People’s Republic of New York is hard on gun owners, you should see the treatment unborn babies get. Christians who take their faith seriously don’t fare well under his rule either:

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo seeks to impose a radical new abortion regime on the state, one that goes far beyond the euphemistic byword “choice.” The bill would in fact limit many choices, for instance the choice of Catholic hospitals and other institutions with moral objections to decline to allow abortions to be performed in their facilities. It would limit the choices of organizations that counsel pregnant women if their counseling were held to be insufficiently enthusiastic about abortion. It would limit the choices of organizations that seek to help women in crisis without involving themselves in the politics of abortion.

But Cuomo’s “Reproductive Health Act” proves that sometimes even liberals can favor deregulation.

It would among other things allow persons other than physicians to perform abortions. That is an innovation borrowed from Jerry Brown’s California, where midwives and nurses are permitted to perform abortions. The State of New York will not permit a burly man to lift a box without a state permit to operate a moving company, but gynecological surgery apparently is to be considered a matter for immediate regulatory relief.

That’s because our liberal rulers don’t care whether boxes get lifted. They do care that abortions be performed — although they already are in great number.

Two in five pregnancies end in abortion in New York City; the rate for black women is 60 percent. The statewide figures are lower, but they are high enough. There are about 250 abortion clinics in the state, and 93 percent of the state’s women live in a county that is home to an abortion facility, according to the Guttmacher Institute. Nationally, abortion kills the equivalent of the combined populations of Atlanta and Cleveland every year. All that with no help from Governor Cuomo.

You couldn’t increase abortion access for New Yorkers without putting a baby butchery on every street corner. What then is the point?

The issue is political domination. The abortion party does not brook resistance, and it steadfastly seeks to ensure that everybody has a hand in its grisly business: taxpayers, employers, priests. All must be implicated. If a religious hospital declines to provide abortions, then it must be forced to do so. If a counseling center treats adoption as preferable to abortion, it will either change its mind or have its mind changed for it by the gentle persuasion of the State of New York.

Like the abortion provisions in the Patient Protection Act [a.k.a. ObamaCare], Governor Cuomo’s proposal is a gross assault on individual liberties.

As its avatars Cuomo and Obama have been making increasingly clear, at bottom leftism is tyranny for the sake of tyranny; evil for the sake of evil.

Not just tyrannical. Satanic.

On a tip from St. Gilbert.

Homo, ie Cuomo worked for an a self Confessed PEDOPHILE for years and continued to collect checks from him while his boss was in prison and Cuomo was HUD Secretary.

Look up the name Michael Blutrich and you will find all of the information with just a bit of research.

If Cuomo knew of and allowed dozens of underage boys be raped in the office next to his, what concern would he have for unborn children being scraped out of their mothers or forcing Catholic institutions to allow it to happen in churches, let alone hospitals?

How about this choice: Bullet or Noose?

  3. Wilberforce says:

Dave, before I could even scroll down to see his picture, I was only going to leave a one-word response: Satanic.

  4. StanInTexas says:

I am amazed on a daily basis the lengths Liberal will go in order to justify the killing of a child.

It’s almost as if the bloodlust of their Master cannot be slaked. The sacrifice must be increased.

Catholic hospitals have made it clear that they will shut down rather than perform abortions.
    Cuomo knows this full well.
This is really a NY state grab up of hospitals.
A state owned hospital will not be bankrupted by Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement rates.
They will simply have their subsidy increased and RATION CARE.
Moonbats have long had Catholic hospitals in their bullseye, precisely because they value life over death panels
NY is now the abortion capital of the world
Liberals don’t care how many children are saved, only that (just like Stalin) everybody equally share some of the same blood on their hands.

The state doesn’t tolerate competition if it can help it. They don’t like Catholic hospitals, or charitable services providing adoption assistance. And they certainly don’t like competition to government schools.

Remember the commandment, which may be the only one that Liberals believe in?
Thou shalt have no gods before me.

Christians and their God will not be tolerated.

  9. A. Levy says:

Little Andy Cuomo. You can almost see the drool coming from his mouth, that’s how great is his lust to sit in the Oval Office. If not for his socialist daddy, this incompetent punk would be serving people down at the local Dairy Queen.

But, as we get closer to 2016, you can bet your life that the MSM will make him appear as competent, as knowledgeable, and as worldly, as they did for the Marxist-in-Chief. And, if the MSM is once again successful, the weak, gullible, and mindless American sheeple will have been fooled. Again.

As a NY’er, i can tell you without reservation that this useless “ultra-liberal”, is, and would be, a disaster.

  10. Lentenlands says:

I pose the question, “Why are the traitorous politicians violating their oaths of fidelity to the Constitution not being arrested, impeached and punished?” Politicians who introduce legislation to take away our Constitutionally guaranteed Natural Rights such as religious freedom should be.

In NY, Gov. Cuomo should be arrested, impeached and imprisoned for his infidelity to the Constitution that he swore absolute fidelity to. If this were to happen across the Nation, the forces of evil could not so easily influence politicians to violate their oaths. The reason that politicians and judges spend their careers plotting against and outright betraying the People and the Constitution is that no one ever moves to arrest and stop them.

If we continue to do business in America the way that we have, can we ever expect different results?

If this were to become a popular movement, it could be a game changer and put these rats on their best behavior. Tens of thousands of the People clamoring for someone’s arrest and prosecution can be very motivational.

And the threat of arrest, removal from office and punishment would be just as powerful as actually doing it. If there were an outcry from the mad-as-hell public to arrest these enemies of the People, these vermin would tread very lightly against the Constitution. These are not brave men; they are worms – cowards at heart. A public demanding action against them is definitely not something they want to deal with.

When the mob in Rome was upset with a despotic ruler even as powerful as Caesar, he was forced to consider them.

Funny, how they fight so hard for a woman’s “right” to choose to get an abortion, and then fight equally hard to keep me from making my choice to light up a cigarette.

No matter which way you look at the Left and their positions, what you will never see is, honesty, logic, and/or sincerity.

  17. MissAnthropy says:

So is Cuomo himself Catholic? I would guess being a NYer of Italian background he is, at least nominally.

Why doesn’t the Catholic Church start excommunicating these politicians who claim to be members of their Church while doing everything in their power to violate its most basic tenets? Start denying these political tyrants the ability to cynically use religion as window dressing at election time. If they aren’t going to actually believe in the Church’s tenets, then they should be kicked out.

  18. Jester says:

We Americans are already slowly breeding ourselves out of existence; why do moonbats want to accelerate this process? Oh wait — I know — it’s because they think we are a plague on the environment. What they’re not taking into account, however, is the fact that the world’s Islamic and Latino populations are exploding exponentially. Do progressives really think these two cultures will be any gentler on the environment than ours is?

Jester, it doesn’t really matter, environmentally, if the Dhimm’s can maintain a constant flow of low-class, low-skilled, dependent drones to inculcate into the massive welfare state the country has become. They’ve got to have a continually replenishing underclass, without fail, to maintain their power perpetually.
Cuomo looks like a rougher, less handsome (by a long shot) Al Pacino as Michael Corleone — basically, just a thug (which is perfect, since that’s what he is).

  21. Bob Roberts says:

    Abortions have consequences

When Ayanna Byer scheduled an appointment at Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains to take an abortion pill to end her pregnancy, there was no way for her to foresee the horrors ahead of her. Earlier this month, Byer, through the assistance of the attorneys at Alliance Defending Freedom, brought a lawsuit to hold Planned Parenthood liable for the botched abortion that she did not consent to.

According to that complaint, when Byer arrived at the Planned Parenthood clinic, it was determined that her pregnancy was too far along to be terminated through the use of a pill, therefore a surgical abortion was recommended. Ms. Byer agreed upon the condition that she would receive IV anesthesia, for which she would be charged extra. Although the employees could not get the IV started, the doctor came to start the procedure anyway.

Seven minutes later, due to Ms. Byer crying from pain, the procedure finally stopped. She received an apology and a prescription for a painkiller and antibiotics and was sent on her way. Planned Parenthood never followed up with her.

About two days later, Ms. Byer went to the hospital due to pain and bleeding, where it was found that part of the aborted baby was still inside her, resulting in an infection. She had to have emergency surgery.

  22. justme says:

jc14, Michael Corleone is a lot of things, just a thug nor a more handsome Andy Homo are not.

Corleone is an unwilling participant in the life, who is thrust into becoming the leader of the family and had to become ruthless in that role in support of the family – Cuomo was groomed since day one to assume his father’s position, he indeed is ruthless but not in the Michael Corleone way. Michael at least stood for something and protected his family unless they betrayed him. Cuomo is a political opportunist who used his daddy’s connections to get everywhere – You do know that Mario Cuomo had more than just a few ties to the Mafia…

Equating Baby Cuomo with Michael Corleone is an insult -if anything he is more like Fredo – selling out the family, and cozying up to any lowlife..

  23. DJ says:

“About two days later, Ms. Byer went to the hospital due to pain and bleeding, where it was found that part of the aborted baby was still inside her, resulting in an infection. She had to have emergency surgery.”

The abortion industry makes the horrors that happened in Hitlers work camps pale by comparison. You’d think a Supreme Court comprised with six Catholics would overturn Roe v Wade, right? Wrong! E.g. look how John Roberts went out of his way to find a way to make the anti-Catholic Obama-care legal. Moreover 51% of so-called Catholics voted for the explicitly anti-Catholic Obama in the last election. True, that’s down from 54% of Catholics that voted for him in 2008 but still….

  24. St. Gilbert says:

    DJ and MissAnthropy —

The Catholic connection in all this is beyond disturbing. As a Catholic, I think public excommunication is most definitely in order for all politicians and justices who support policies antithetical to Catholic teaching. That the Church has wedded itself to the State and is now seeking different living arrangements is a topic for another discussion.

But I have a question for you (okay, three). Just how “Catholic” would you allow these politicians to be? Here’s a thought experiment: Let’s say that the majority Catholic justices on the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Divine Positive Law, declaring that the Constitution, which finds abortion lawful, should be measured and subordinated to Divine and Natural Law, under the Social Kingship of Jesus Christ… and then outlawed abortion. These are some of the Catholic teachings that could/should be taken by Catholics in public life. Would that even be conceivable in the nation of our Founders, under the dictates of our deliberately Godless Constitution that presumes no greater authority, or within the ideals of today’s “conservative” defenders of liberty? Or does the illusory “will of the people” and the text of a purely and intentionally secular document trump the law of God even for those who would seek (or would demand of Catholic leaders) to defend innocent human life?

  25. DJ says:

    St Gilbert,

The problem as I see it is most Catholics practice two religions: Modern liberalism and Catholicism. Alas the former takes precedence over the latter. That explains why a majority of so-called Catholics voted for the most anti-Catholic president in the history of the USA.

The say this is a Christian nation. That’s about as false as those that claim that the majority of Americans are conservative. But then again I suppose it all boils down to how we define conservative a Christian doesn’t it? I personally know many folks that identify as both conservative and Christian yet support the gay agenda. That’s but one example; multiply it by 200 million and voila! a reprobate nation that allows 56 million abortions since 1973. Slouching towards Gomorrah indeed!

In any event, some say the great apostasy started with Henry VIII of England. One such person is Bishop Richard Williamson. This is well worth the watch:

  27. St. Gilbert says:

    DJ —

Yes, for most American Catholics (bishops included), their politics trumps their faith. In fact, their politics doesn’t just trump their faith, it both informs and defines their faith. They are liberals first and Catholics, well, after. Once that is allowed, it doesn’t take much for one’s faith to fall perfectly in line with one’s political worldview — a very dangerous place to be.

And yes, God is the prerequisite for all politics, lest government become the God. Our Godless Constitution, unfortunately, doesn’t do much to stop that reality, as evidenced in America’s slow evolution from deistic secularism to atheistic secularism.
