Arrested for Playing T-Ball With Wife and 6-Year-Old Daughter

The Wuhan coronavirus lockdown is producing a golden age for authoritarianism. Police in Brighton, Colorado arrested Matt Mooney for allegedly violating social distancing guidelines by playing t-ball in a park.

At least Mooney’s daughter ought to grow up with a healthy distrust of Big Government.

“She’s like, ‘Daddy, I don’t want you to get arrested.’ At this point I’m thinking, ‘There’s no way they’re going to arrest me, this is insane.’ I’m telling her, ‘Don’t worry, Daddy’s not going to get arrested. I’ve done nothing wrong. Don’t worry about it,’ and then they arrest me.”

Ironically, the only ones violating social distancing guidelines were the police.

“During the contact, none of the officers had masks on, none of them had gloves on, and they’re in my face handcuffing me, they’re touching me,” he said.

He spent about 10 minutes in the back of a patrol car before they let him go, evidently satisfied that he and his family had been sufficiently terrorized.

Police are the good guys only so long as government is limited. The bigger the government, the less benevolence you can expect from its enforcers. The Wuhan virus panic is giving us a glimpse of America under government gone wild.

On a tip from Stormfax.
