Bill Nye Wants Liberal States to Impose Economic Sanctions on States That Don’t Buy Into Global Warming Hoax

Bill Nye the Pseudoscience Guy still won’t give up on the global warming hoax. Now he wants states dominated by his fellow moonbats to punish states that won’t play along:

“There’s a lot of emphasis from conservatives on what are writ-large states rights. Just watch out, conservatives, if states rights include California, Illinois, New York — these places that, where people voted in a progressive fashion — watch out if all those places start to address climate change and then impose economic sanctions, either overtly or by default, on places that have not embraced the work that needs to be done. Then you’ll end up with this states rights working the other way.”

He went on to refer to people in other states, where the hoax is regarded with more skepticism, as “eloquently stated as hillbillies.”

California, New York, and Illinois had better hurry up with those sanctions while there is still someone left to impose them. By an interesting coincidence, these are the three states that people are moving out of the fastest — presumably to get away from moonbats like Nye.

On a tip from J.

The interesting part is that the constitution’s interstate commerce clause was included to prevent just this sort of thing from happening so liberals are fine twisting it to mean that the federal government can insert itself into any transaction between citizens of different state but its original meaning is out the door.

Probably not the best week for the fruitcake scientist to be bringing up climate change.

  3. James McEnanly says:

It is not a good idea to impose sanctions on the people who raise your food.

Y’know, if he had played any sports as a kid, he’d know that “I’ll take my ball and go home” doesn’t really bother the other kids (most of whom are glad the huffy kid left anyway). What does he mean by “economic sanctions”? “Do it our way or we won’t buy stuff produced in your Hillbilly Hellhole”? He is aware that there are consumers other than Red State governments, isn’t he?

Bill Nye makes so many mistakes, but the one that stands out for me is his assumption that the people in New York, California & Illinois are all in the tank for progressive politics. While the metrics seem support that, he should bother to talk to those actually living in this places. I am a born & raised downstate New Yorker, and I know many of my fellow New Yorkers were relieved Hillary did not win, even if uncertain by how Trump would perform.
I would agree there’s climate change, after all, like people, the earth cycles. But the Left would have us all believe it is because of human existence that we have global warming/climate change (that’s the beauty of being a Progressive, you can torque your words to mean other things).
But the truth is, climate change happened at least one other time we know of and that we’re not technically out of yet: The Ice Age.
Last I checked, we weren’t around to affect any such thing as the weather.
So Bill Nye should go back and actually read meteorological & geological history. He might learn something.

apparently this half wit doesn’t understand the commerce clause in the Constitution of the United States.

  8. Occam's Stubble says:

There’s climate change and then there’s man-made climate change. Everyone with a lick of sense believes in the former. It’s the latter that’s been called into question.

Good luck with that pencil neck, them hillbillies are pretty self reliant and tend to make very dangerous enemies…

There’s been alot of talk lately about states punishing each other. Preventing states from conducting economic war on each other is one of the legitimate reasons the Commerce Clause was included in the Constitution. But CC clause isn’t used properly anymore thanks to the utter debasement of the legal profession, so I doubt the Union will exist in anything like its present form 20 years from now.

Leftist coastal areas might find divorce more difficult than they imagine. Parasitic extraction of tribute at seaports only goes so far. Could be problematic finding electricity, food, garbage disposal, defense, and even water in the case of California.

As much as I don’t like the culture of those places, it’s still unfortunate that the mainstream sore-loser Left and some on the Right are determined to blow it all up – I guess. But maybe I’m just being sentimental.

California emits only rainbows. But how much CO2 are we producing here in NYC? So much talk, it’s heating up the streets. Lucky for us climate change has caused a huge snowstorm, it’s really cooling things off right now.

No, to a great extent it is the moonbats, who have ruined these states, who are moving out, moving to states that haven’t been ruined yet, because they’ve ruined these states – do not like the policies, taxes and fees the politicians they’ve elected have imposed – and so they’re now going to do their best to ruin the states they’re moving to!

The one hope on the horizon is that enough of them move out of California, for instance, that sanity can return to the state – but that is unlikely. They’ve institutionalized the rot and it may be here to stay.

  15. Bodhisattva says:

climate change happened at least one other time we know of

Climate change has happened CONTINUOUSLY ever since the Earth’s atmosphere and oceans existed… and a form of it happened even before that AS they formed.

It has been warmer, it has been MUCH cooler, it has been wetter, it has been drier, than it is now. Changes from warm to cool, from wet to dry, and back again, have occurred much more quickly than anything we’ve observed in the past 100-200 years.

Global temperatures, sea levels and other indicators have changed much faster and much farther – that is to say they have changed at a much greater rate of change/to a much greater magnitude, to greater extremes than they are changing now. One reason the climate alarmists insist we not listen to “other scientists”, only to them, is that this FACT is literally written in stone and geologists will tell you exactly this. And one way climate alarmists get around this is they write “new studies” which deny established, data-proven facts about the past.

  16. Franklyfrank says:

    Perfectly stated.
As has been proven time and again, Leftists are delusional. They believe if they think something, that it automatically becomes fact.
    Truth be damned to them.

  17. dilsin says:

States imposing economic sanctions on other states? Does he really think they could do that? Someone better give this guy a copy of the Constitution.

  18. chesterarthur says:

Dear Bill Nye:economic sanctions can go both ways.
