Bureaucrats Suppress Gadsden Flag

The Gadsden flag is a famous symbol of an American spirit that does not bend to authoritarianism. Variations of it have been with us since the Revolutionary War. You can see why the moonbats running a New York City suburb would suppress it:

A group of New York veterans is preparing to march into court after a town ordered the Gadsden flag removed from a military armory.

The city of New Rochelle, N.Y., has removed the Gadsden “Don’t Tread on Me” flag from the New Rochelle Armory after the city council refused to let a veterans organization display the flag, World Net Daily reported.

The stated reason for the refusal is that the Gadsden flag is associated with the Tea Party, which exists to defend the limited government, pro-liberty philosophy upon which our country was founded.

According to the U.S. Navy website, beginning Sept. 11, 2002, all U.S. Navy ships have flown the First Navy Jack flag. The flag, first used by the Continental Navy in 1775, consists of a rattlesnake superimposed across 13 alternating red and white stripes with the motto, “Don’t Tread On Me.”

According to the site, Commodore Esek Hopkins used the First Navy Jack as a signal to engage the British in the American Revolution. The Jack in today’s fleet represents a historic reminder of the nation’s origin.

If the mighty British Navy could be bested under the Gadsden flag, there is hope that liberalism can be too.

What are they fighting for that isn’t represented by that flag?

I think the article is confusing the two “Don’t Tread on Me” flags.

The Gadsden flag is yellow, with a coiled rattlesnake with the motto, whereas the first Naval Jack is the one pictured above.

New Rochelle is in New York which – like all deep-blue states – has long since lost any right to claim to be American and free.

Isn’t that where Rob and Laura Petri lived, until the divorce, she changed her name, and moved to the Twin Cities to work with Ted Bakster.

Civil disobedience folks… ignore the morons on the city council. Fly the Gadsden flag. Are the city council members going to go out and physically remove it? If so, be sure to have the media there, and if dinosaur media won’t cover it, get hundreds of supporters to use their own social media access to spread the word.

Many of the bullies that rule over all these small government bureaucracies, will slither away at the mildest scrutiny of their heretofore unseen actions.

Citizens need to take charge of their lives and governments again – expose these mini-tyrants for what they really are; the legacy media sure won’t do it.

  8. Sam Adams says:

I’m with Henry; time for some civil disobedience. These are vets. They have earned the right to fly any flag they wish. In reality, that is part of the first amendment.

Let the local cops show up and start arresting the old men for putting up a flag. Then let the civil rights lawsuits commence.

  9. Flu-Bird says:

Any city buricrats that ban residents from excosing their FREEDOME of EXPRESSION deserve to be taken out and lynched and that inclueds their stupid mayors as well
