Burglar’s Guide to NYC’s Northern Suburbs

In the spirit of Christmas, The Journal News (a Gannett newspaper like USA Today that serves the area north of NYC) has reached out to burglars by providing a helpful map indicating the addresses of pistol permit holders in New York’s Westchester and Rockland Counties:

Click the dots on the original and you get actual addresses of where to go to steal guns, and where extra caution is advised when breaking and entering.

One of the many advantages of an armed populace is that criminals never know who is armed and who is not. Naturally “mainstream” journalists will strive to remove this advantage on behalf of outlaws, with whom they share a moral creed.

On a tip from Wiggins.

In the spirit of the season, giving to others! I would return the favor to those activist morons, er, I mean objective journalists by publishing the status of their household with street views and pictures of their families, Merry Christmas, Jacka&&

  2. Sean says:

Great way to advertise to thieves to which houses are easy to break into. They just hung a sign on all the houses that say easy target here and don’t try home owner maybe armed!

    Isn’t that invasion of privacy????

They give the person’s name and address out online, for everyone to find.

These people should band together and sue that newspaper blind. Especially if any of their houses DO get broken into.

  5. HiramHawk says:

This only serves to warn criminals of where it is not safe to commit crimes. This has endangered the unarmed neighbors of the gun owners.

  8. Tax Slave says:

Those burglars stupid enough to try to steal guns from these folks might just end up dead. They’ll check to see if their targets are armed of not.

The neighbors of the folks with guns better get their own guns ASAP.

In either case, when the invader comes or the government goes completely tyrannical, they’ll know just where to go to round up the toublemakers and (TAKE THEIR GUNS).

  13. justme says:

Reminds me of Red Dawn, when the russians invaded 1984 USA, the first thing they did was to raid the gun ownership records and begin confiscation.. Ahh hope and change imitating a Communist Invasion.

Too bad the Gannett didn’t post a similar map of all THE ILLEGAL Weapons in “Da Hood”.. but that’d be racist and risk subjecting the poor illegal gun owners to the same scrutiny, ridicule and danger as LEGAL CITIZEN WEAPON HOLDERS. Once again, the citizens are punished for abiding by the laws.

  14. T.Walt says:

No doubt this is more of a disservice to the homeowners who don’t have a dot. Easy pickens. The idiotic editor of this paper may have blood on his hands.

Criminals will case those properties for those weapons and strike when they are away
Is this proof enough that liberals wish to arm only criminals and government ?

Also, anyone desiring a list of Gannett’s board of directors especially a tech savvy person.

Know what the best thing about this information is? That once published, the search engines will keep this stuff forever.

That is, unless the Google goobers decide to suppress this information. Then, there’s always Bing, Yahoo, and many more that won’t delete it.

  32. Son of Taz says:

Final thought – even if you aren’t a webmaster, you probably have web space provided by your internet provider.

Create a simple page and post the links. That’ll insure the pages climb higher in the search engines.

    Oh boy is this great!

If I were a burglar, I think I would avoid the homes where a gun is present. Same as if you had a sign in your window stating that your property is protected by Smith & Wesson. Many a burglar has been shot trying to break in. Keep it locked and loaded!

Hey commies, how do you like your own medicine?????

Names and addresses for Journal News exec’s with personal information publicly available:

  39. Alphamail says:

This is a copy of the eMail I just sent Janet Hasson and twenty of her employees (individually):

“A letter to your publisher – and individual eMails for all the staff to read.

Obviously you feel your First Amendment right allows you to identify your fellow citizens and neighbors by not honoring their Second Amendment right – by publicly posting their personal information for criminals to view.

I can’t say that is entirely bad. In fact, it may possibly be saving lives.

When I say saving lives, I mean the lives of the criminals.

The people who have gun licenses were able to get them because they have proven themselves to be upstanding citizens of good character from whom you and your friends have nothing to fear.

And, considering they were responsible citizens, they invariably bought the guns to protect their children and home from violent intruders. That means they care about their families and are firm in their resolve to protect them by any means available, even legal means.

That also means if a criminal – say a rapist or a burglar – were to try to enter that citizen’s home, the criminal could get hurt or even die.

As I suspect, you don’t want anyone to get hurt – that’s why your posting the addresses of gun owners could be important.

(By the way, I was unable to find the accompanying long list of names and addresses of gun-crime perpetrators in the area – the criminals of which I speak – which I’m sure as a just and moral person, you also felt compelled to print).

I wanted you to know, out of the spirit of fairness and to reduce the risk of criminals getting hurt or killed, I am making flyers containing as much personal information about you and your staff as I can obtain, and I will be handing them out and publicly posting them – and paying others to assist me – in as many urban and gang-bang areas in NYC as well as in the outlying low-income areas.

Since you were kind enough to print the addresses where the rapists, street thugs, and violent offenders should NOT go because those owners have guns – and criminals could get hurt – I feel it is important to give those thugs the names and addresses of you and your staff, so they know which homes and families are less protected, and their chance of getting inside safely is greater, while the possibility of their getting hurt or killed is manifestly diminished.

Since we both feel so strongly about people not getting hurt, it would be extremely helpful if you can eMail me your employee’s personal information so my flyers are up to date, and I include everyone.”

I’m on that list, just like I was on their list last time they pulled this crap. But last time they didn’t have a scalable map you cold switch to a recent color satellite picture. This is bad news.

I’m also a bit relieved but not at all surprised that at least every other home on my street has pistols … which means that just about every house has at least one gun, given that about 3-5 times as many folks own rifles and shotguns than own pistols.

PS – there is damn little crime in most parts of Rockland and Westchester counties.
