California Legislature Bans Plastic Bags

The liberal petty tyrannies that collectively are destroying our standard of living start in moonbat strongholds like San Francisco and Los Angeles. From there Democrat politicians expand them to the state level:

On Friday, the state Legislature passed a bill banning the use of plastic bags at California grocery stores, pharmacies, liquor stores and other businesses. If signed by Gov. Jerry Brown, the bill would institute the first statewide ban on plastic bags in the U.S.

I’m guessing it won’t take Governor Moonbeam long to sign a bill that panders to envirokooks at the expense of consumers.

Californians will still be able to use inferior paper bags for now. But the same law dictates that stores must charge you at least 10¢ apiece for them.

Before long, as our progressive rulers progress closer to utopia, we will only be allowed to purchase what we can carry in our hands. Think how happy the polar bears will be.

On a tip from Franco.

So now they tell you what to buy, where to buy it, what you may or may not carry it in, how much you must pay to carry it, how you must dispose of it…

And now they’ll be cutting down more trees to make paper bags.

    Liberal logic in action.

They still have all those plastic bag loopholes. plastic bag pipelines of illegal assault bags (those that hold more than ten rounds or are black) from Nevada, Arizona, Utah ,and Texas.

One of the liberal’s “talking points” was that the store supplied bag was single use. I use them as trash bags, thereby punching holes in that liberal tale. I will still use a plastic bag for trash. I will have to buy a bag that is thicker, stronger and will, by its construction, decompose in a lot longer timeframe then the current store supplied bags. This ban also applies to plastic produce bags, the kind you use to bag your choice of tomatoes, carrots, peppers, you know – fresh produce. There was a study a couple of years back that 2 out of 100,000 people will die per year from Escherichia coli (more commonly know as E. coli) and other bacteria because of substitute bags. It’s all a power game to California politicians. The people are pawns.

Plastic grocery bags aren’t biodegradable? How come half of them biodegrade before I can get my groceries into my house?

. . . and probably using more oil to make those biodegradable bags instead of the plastic bags that are 100% made from oil.

We can solve the litter problem by ending the practice of giving the purchaser a free trash bag with every purchase…

Pollution will increase anyway. The plastic bags are not the problem. The problem are the millions of third world citizens who will always pollute. Picking up trash is as foreign a concept as not throwing trash on the ground in the first place. Corporations can no longer pollute. Large fines are levied against them if they do. But go to any ghetto or Black or Latino hood and trash is a part of everyday life.

I wonder if that simpering jackhole Gov. Brown – named after the opening he appeared from, knows that plastic bags can be . . . wait for it . . . RECYCLED!

I save mine and then take them back to the grocery store who turns them in for recycling.

I’ll just add this my list of reasons why I will never live in Kalifornia, Vol. 37.

If you already live in CA., know that I think you are a moron who is getting what they deserve.

  17. rex freeway says:

Start writing ten dollar tickets to polluters. States could make millions off the point of pollution.

That’s different, rex. Those are special people who live like animals because 150 years ago, their ancestors were slaves. (Not sure why Mexican ghettos are a mess…must be because white people stole their land.) You have to allow them to express their rage by trashing everything they touch.

You see? It’s WHITE people’s fault. If we weren’t racist, privileged bastards, the blacks and third-worlders would live in beautiful, safe, friendly, pristine neighborhoods.

    (a) That would be “jackwagon”.

    (b) I live in California. It was once a great state. This does not make me a moron, nor do I deserve what I’m getting.

I suppose the idea is to bring your own bag, to be washed and reused indefinitely. I myself use one or two plastic bags for bedroom / bathroom trash bags, put the rest in recycling.

Of course, when people are limited to what they can fit in said bag, chances are they’ll purchase less (about a third of all supermarker purchases are impulse-buys). Look for people dumping excess items at the checkout when they realize they bought more than they can carry. Sales will drop, grocery stores will start closing, and companies will start asking for government bailouts.

Bought some stuff at Save-A-Lot today for the first time ever. Good prices, but no bags. People kept the groceries in the carts and wheeled them out to the parking lot. I only had an armful of stuff, carried it to my car, and flung it in the backseat. No thanks, I’ll stick with Wal-Mart.

Jeez louise, even the libs can’t decide what’s good about reusable grocery bags.

And they can even make you sick.

So, I’m setting up my plastic bag store on eBay today and shipping them to California residents. Each bag will be printed “JERRY BROWN SUCKS”

Don’t worry, they’re not going to take the plastic bags away. Because, I am going to write California the following letter:

    “Dear California,

The Muslims would prefer that you keep the plastic bags. They are very useful as a covering for the face and head. All one needs to do is poke a couple of holes in them and they can be used to cover one’s identity. This is very important when beheading infidels.

    Sincerely, yours,

    Jodie”

Problem solved! I am sure the plastic bags will stay.
