You don’t run up a national debt of $33.5 trillion without finding imaginative ways to waste money — like $100 million flushed away in the name of “tree equity”:

The U.S. Forest Service is allocating more than $100 million for grants meant to achieve “tree equity,” according to a Daily Caller News Foundation analysis.

Even the $100 million is a small fraction of the waste:

The Forest Service announced on Sept. 14 that it had allocated over $1 billion toward expanding “access” to trees, including 17 grant proposals that promote “tree equity” with a total value of $101,096,371.

“Tree equity” means providing trees specifically to people who belong to politically favored identity groups.

The grants are funded through the Inflation Reduction Act, Biden’s signature climate law.

There is zero chance of the grotesque legislation affecting the climate in any measurable way, but it has helped keep inflation high, as wasteful government spending always does.

Tree equity entails spending our money to plant trees even where there are already plenty of trees:

While trees cover nearly half of Atlanta, the most coverage in the nation according to Trees Atlanta, the Forest Service approved a grant to the city for $10 million to “address issues related to tree equity” and develop a “sustainable, diverse nature-based workforce.” Similarly, San Francisco had 14,543 trees per square mile as of 2021, and the Forest Service allocated $14 million to plant more trees this year, the Daily Caller News Foundation reported.

With our liberal rulers, the issue is never the issue; the issue is always moonbattery:

A grant to the Oregon Department of Forestry worth $22,857,196, one of the biggest individual grants approved by the Forest Service, promises to use “Indigenous ecological knowledge” to train people in planting, maintaining and monitoring trees. Another grant to the Ebiil Society for $740,000 will also use “Indigenous ecological knowledge” to teach people about trees.

Biden’s ongoing tsunami of illegal aliens have not been forgotten:

Aurora, Colorado’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Open Space received $5,000,000 to plant trees in neighborhoods with “high immigrant and refugee populations” in order to “prioritize equity, social justice and sustainable urban forest management.”

Urban forests are suitable places to set up Third World encampments. Just don’t try walking through one alone.

Constitutional scholars will search in vain for the clause that grants the federal government authority to waste our money on this nonsense.

Thanks to formerly limited government, the USA’s economy has been mighty for generations. Spending it into total collapse hasn’t been easy. But Democrats are up to the job.

The extravagantly expensive studies have confirmed what common sense would tell us regarding the health hazards of the depraved sexual agenda promoted by the Biden Regime. As Johns Hopkins University College Republicans note,

“It is a gross insult to students and professors, who spend a lot of their time writing grant applications for their scientifically legitimate research, that Johns Hopkins University is receiving $3.5 million dollars to discover something health experts have known since the 1970s: sexual relationships between men increase risk of HIV.”

The Regime will continue to push LGBTism will all its might regardless of what the studies find, rendering them totally pointless.

About forty miles west of Abilene on Interstate 20, Sweetwater has unwittingly become home to what is possibly the world’s largest collection of unwanted wind turbine blades. When forklifts deposited the first of these in a field behind the apartment complex where Pamala Meyer lives, on the west side of town, in 2017, she wasn’t initially bothered. But then the blades—between 150 and 200 feet in length and mostly made of composite materials such as fiberglass with a binding resin—kept coming. Each was cut into thirds, with each segment longer than a school bus. Thousands arrived over several years, eventually blanketing more than thirty acres, in stacks rising as high as basketball backboards.

Like all problems created by the government, the problem was then made worse by the government:

The Sweetwater piles are also at least partly the indirect result of a rule clarification the Internal Revenue Service issued in 2016. Before then, a wind farm could collect valuable federal tax credits for only its first ten years of operation. But the IRS determined that it would restart the clock on the credits if a wind farm “repowered” its turbines—replacing most of their equipment with newer parts. So, despite the expected two-decade lifespan for turbine blades, wind farms across Texas and other states began replacing many that remained in good shape years early.

At least the incipient mountain range of useless blades provides breeding grounds for the rattlesnakes the town is known for. Since rattlesnakes feed on rats, it’s too bad we can’t move the memorial to the District of Corruption where it belongs.

There is no such thing as a free lunch. Someone pays. When the Biden Regime bypasses Congress to expand food stamps by decree, guess who pays for the bags of Fudge Rounds that 5’3″ 300-pounders put on their EBT cards? You do — not only directly through taxes but also through higher prices:

The Biden administration’s “unlawful food stamp expansion” is driving “massive spikes in grocery prices,” a new government watchdog report finds.

The Foundation for Government Accountability reveals that Biden’s 2021 expansion of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program drove up food prices by over 15%.

“In 2021, the Biden administration rushed through the largest permanent increase in food stamp benefits since the program was created, hiking benefits by an average of 27 percent,” the report stated.

Congress could repeal the expansion, which it never authorized. But as Democrats know, handouts work like a ratchet, moving us ever closer to their objective. Few politicians have the belly to tell moochers they can no longer force their neighbors to pay for their third helping of ice cream. Every step toward Marxism is permanent — at least until the house of cards comes crashing down.

The Congressional Budget Office estimated that the food stamp expansion could cost United States taxpayers more than $1 trillion over the next decade.

Good thing the government has printing presses to pay for all this spending.

Spending on housing for the illegal aliens they import is dwarfed by the money poured down Ukraine, which is dwarfed in turn by flagrant waste under the pretense of controlling the weather.

Here’s a relatively inexpensive (at this point) but representatively demented example:

As part of President Biden’s Investing in America agenda, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) [on August 11] announced up to $1.2 billion to advance the development of two commercial-scale direct air capture facilities in Texas and Louisiana. These projects—the first of this scale in the United States—represent the initial selections from the President’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law-funded Regional Direct Air Capture (DAC) Hubs program, which aims to kickstart a nationwide network of large-scale carbon removal sites to address legacy carbon dioxide pollution and complement rapid emissions reductions.

This is bad news for plants, which rely on the essential nutrient carbon dioxide, a normal and necessary component of our atmosphere that Democrats demonize for strategic reasons.

If there could be a more insane way to waste money even than carbon capture, it could only be climate justice:

For the first time in our nation’s history, the Federal Government has made it a goal that 40 percent of the overall benefits of certain Federal investments flow to disadvantaged communities that are marginalized, underserved, and overburdened by pollution.

How historic. This was written in the Orwellian language Liberalese, so to translate: “disadvantaged” means politically favored; “marginalized” means placed first and foremost; “underserved” means obsequiously catered to at everyone else’s expense; “pollution” largely means the harmless carbon emissions referenced above.

To meet the goal of the Justice40 Initiative, the Administration is transforming hundreds of Federal programs across the government to ensure that disadvantaged communities receive the benefits of new and existing Federal investments…

The federal behemoth is to focus on throwing money we don’t have to the four winds in the name of making the weather nicer for privileged identity groups. Since no amount of wasted money will change the weather, they need never stop wasting until the entire economy collapses into communism per the Cloward-Piven strategy.

Biden recently admitted that the Inflation Reduction Act, which drove up inflation by wasting hundreds of $billions on environmental posturing, was misnamed. But that doesn’t mean the waste will slow down before Democrats and their collaborators have been pried from power.

Fifty-five nations have been paid by US taxpayers and currency holders to advance the twisted LGBT agenda.

The global funding spree is part of the Biden administration’s larger effort to promote a woke cultural agenda throughout the United States and abroad, even in countries with more traditional social values. In addition to funding LGBT activism across the world, the administration has allocated millions to fight climate change in various countries and teach gender studies in war-torn nations like Iraq. In 2023 alone, American taxpayers have helped foot the bill for Pride Month festivities in Australia, Estonia, Slovenia, and Bosnia.

If we don’t like this sick filth rammed down our throats, imagine how they feel about it in countries where liberalism has not yet corroded traditional values. But at least people in Botswana don’t have to pick up the tab like we do.

“There was a time when America’s most recognizable exports were baseball and apple pie. But now, under the Biden administration, we’re subjecting the rest of the world to drag queens and childhood sex changes,” said Terry Schilling, president of the American Principles Project.

The phrase “ugly American” has unprecedented validity.

The Americans from whom the money is confiscated, mainly through inflation, stand to receive no benefit whatsoever. On the contrary, rubbing LGBTism in the faces of Muslims in the part of the world from which the September 11 attacks were launched is likely to get Americans killed. That’s the price of electing “leadership” that represents liberal ideology, not the American nation.

You can’t say no one benefits from Democrat rule. In fiscal year 2021–2022, the abortion mill Planned Parenthood received $670.4 million in coercive funding from American taxpayers, a large percentage of whom regard the organization as not merely pernicious but satanic.

That is more taxpayer funding than ever before in its history. This is unsurprising, given that we have never been forced to live under an administration that so belligerently disregards the wishes of citizens who are not leftists.

During the same year, Planned Parenthood killed 383,460 babies, its second highest total yet. American taxpayers were forced to pay $1,792 per child’s scalp — or crushed skull, as the case may be.

Compounding the deviltry, much of the money is funneled back into the Democratic Party. Like the green energy industry, Planned Parenthood serves largely to launder taxpayer money for Democrats.

The evil committed by Planned Parenthood doesn’t stop there. It also gives children hormone injections and puberty blockers to prevent their normal development and to set them on course for horrific sex change surgery.
