Columnist Fired for Believing in Two Sexes

There is no objective fact so indisputably obvious that you cannot get fired for calling attention to it if it contradicts liberal dogma. For example, Jon Caldara says that he was fired as a Denver Post columnist for insisting that there are only two sexes.

His style did not help matters:

“My column is not a soft voiced, sticky sweet NPR-styled piece which employs the language now mandated by the victim-centric, identity politics driven media,” he said in a Facebook post. “What seemed to be the last straw for my column was my insistence that there are only two sexes and my frustration that to be inclusive of the transgendered (even that word isn’t allowed) we must lose our right to free speech.”

What a guy who believes in free speech was doing working for an establishment newspaper in this day and age is a mystery.

Caldara’s column revealed that he does not agree with the declaration by the Associated Press that biology be damned, sex and gender are not binary. Nor does he approve of a Colorado law requiring elementary school children to be indoctrinated with transgender dogma. No worries; the public is safe, now that this thought criminal has been deplatformed.

Caldara was told by editorial page editor Megan Schrader that he was the page’s most-read columnist, but that he had to walk the plank due to what Caldara calls “you-can’t-say-that-ism.” Pleasing the public is rarely a priority when it comes up against ideological orthodoxy.
