Defending Gibson Guitar From Obama Regime

Steps are being taken to prevent Obama’s jihad against iconic American guitar-maker Gibson from going into overdrive:

Lawmakers are scrambling to save the summer concert season from federal agents poised to seize the instruments of rock and country stars because the wood used to make them may have been illegally harvested — and without their knowledge.

“I don’t want the musicians from Nashville who are flying to Canada to perform this summer to worry about the government seizing their guitars,” said Tennessee Republican Sen. Lamar Alexander.

Maybe federal goons storming onstage to confiscate guitars during a concert would get it through to under-30s that Big Government is not their friend.

Why does the Obama Regime have its boot on Gibson’s neck over using American labor to make imported wood into guitars? It could be because CEO Henry Juskiewicz donates to Republicans.

If the American people weren’t so weak, stupid, and gullible, they would have recognized by now that we are devolving back to the Berlin of the late 1930’s.

  2. TrickleUpPolitics says:

Speaking of music, check out this rap against a second term for Obama.

  3. Toa says:

I knew there had to be something political about our “superiors” harrassing Gibson…my questions have been answered this morning.

  4. RKae says:

Hey! How ’bout a picture of Steve Howe? He’s the real Gibson man!

  5. 70Stage1 says:

Wonder how the Moonbat lefty musicians feel about this? I can hear it now……..”Oh, but if Obama says they’re doing something illegal, they MUST be doing something illegal………Capitalism sucks!!”

Gibson guitars: 110 years of American ingenuity and excellence. If only Gibson would make something as twangy as a Strat & Tele to keep the country crowd happy and on our side. Keep up the fight Mr. Juskiewicz.

By the way, Les Paul Standards rule!

  6. Spike says:

Would love a Steve Howe photo.

  7. rockman says:

I would not want to be the Govt. “Enforcer” to try and confiscate Slash’s Gibson Les Paul onstage; Slash might pull a Pete Townsend and destroy it, over a regulators head…change his name to Bash…a show to remember!

  8. AZRon says:

I used to have a few Gibsons. They were stolen by someone that looked like Obamas son.

  9. Sam Adams says:

For every Gibson Company, there are hundreds of companies with less public clout that are being crushed. Where’s the public outcry over coal fired power plants being shut down by EPA regs?

  10. vermin says:

On the bright site, this might lead to one of the most spectacular guitar collaborations in history if Slash and Uncle Ted are force to hide out in a bunker stocked with hoarded guitars and firearms.

  11. dan says:

does Ted Nuggent play a Gibson….ahah,’splains so much !

  12. vermin says:

side; not site. Man, I’m bad at this.

  13. Just a thought says:

what good will it do to conficate guitars that are already made? the wood has been cut and bought…. will the Feds give back the wood and tell the country to remake the trees????
oh, and … don’t we (the government) have better things to do than go after ALREADY CUT WOOD??????

  14. vermin says:

Actually, I don’t know Dan. I kind of assumed he would bring the guns and Slash would bring the guitars.

  15. Joe says:

Just a thought – You’re absolutely right, but if the objective is to intimidate and punish a company for donating to the GOP, then the wood doesn’t matter. This criminal regime needs serious prison time.

  16. Bluesman says:

I’m a Fender man myself. Own a 1967 tele and a 1969 sunburst Srat with maple neck.

However I also own a Gibson ES335, great for Jazz
and yes Steve Howie is a one of the greatest guitarist

America has gone from a great young striving nation of indiduals coming together in unity of spirit and culture to a decadent international joke. We’re still very dangerous with (so far) the world’s best military, but now we’re destined to use that to beat up little punks like Syria and Libya. *sigh* I miss America.

  18. The usual Suspect says:

I believe Gibson Guitars has also been targeted because they’re are a non union shop. As a Michigan resident I wish Gibson was still located in Kalamazoo Mi. Back in 1971 I got a personal tour of the old factory, great memory.
