Dem Rep Declares War on Small Business

Jacking the minimum wage up to $15 would destroy many of the small businesses that managed to survive the coronavirus lockdowns. For the Democrats, this isn’t a bug; it’s a feature. They even admit it:

Representative Ro Khanna (D-CA) declared Sunday on CNN’s “Inside Politics” that we should not want “low-wage businesses” when pressed on small businesses who would struggle under a federal mandate to pay employees $15 an hour.

Those who can afford to buy a seat at the Democrat table can also afford the $15 minimum wage. As for those who can’t, let them die. That’s why companies like Amazon — which posted its biggest profit ever during the height of the pandemic as its mom & pop competitors perished from the lockdowns — supports coercively raising the minimum wage.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office predicted raising the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2025 would cost 1.4 million Americans their jobs over the next four years.

Democrats would argue that this proves we need a minimum guaranteed income for everyone, so that these people can devote themselves to voting for a living. If they vote correctly, their minimum income will go up every year, almost as fast as inflation.

Barked Khanna:

“It’s absolutely the right time to give working Americans a raise. Let’s look at the facts. Amazon raised their wage to $15 nationally, not regionally. They have more jobs today. It didn’t hurt job creation or business. Target followed. They also did it nationally, more jobs.”

Great news if you work for Amazon or Target. Not so great for everyone else.

The Democrat Party is at war with small business, the backbone of the American economy.

On a tip from Henry.
