Dems Want to Force Lowe’s to Advertise on Pro-Muslim Program

This is ominous — authorities are going after Lowe’s for refusing to advertise on a TV show devoted to propagandizing on behalf of Islam:

The retail giant stopped advertising on TLC’s “All-American Muslim” after a conservative group known as the Florida Family Association complained, saying the program was “propaganda that riskily hides the Islamic agenda’s clear and present danger to American liberties and traditional values.”

The reaction of liberal politicians has been strident and alarming.

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) … said Lowe’s is choosing to disregard the First Amendment.

Not even George Orwell could have predicted the sheer lunacy of government goons implying that the First Amendment requires companies to advertise on programs favored by our pro-Muslim rulers.

Ellison is a Muslim himself, a product of Louis Farrakhan’s maniacal Nation of Islam. Other Demorrhoids are apparently motivated out of sheer moonbattery.

Calling the Lowe’s decision “un-American” and “naked religious bigotry,” [California State] Sen. Ted Lieu, D-Torrance, told The Associated Press he would also consider legislative action if Lowe’s doesn’t apologize to Muslims and reinstate its ads.

What the hell country are we living in?

If Lowe’s holds firm against these thugs, do-it-yourselfers will have another reason to prefer it to Homo Depot.

TLC also runs a program for pedophiles called Toddlers and Tiaras. Democrats have not yet made it mandatory to advertise on the show, but give them time.

Lieu wants dhimmitude imposed by force.

On tips from FrankW, Scott, SR, and Karpet.

So Lowe’s, a private company, is allowed to advertise in favor of Muslims, but is not allowed to NOT advertise? And if they do not advertise the way the government thinks they should, then there should be “legislative action” taken against them?

So Liberals, where is the 1st Amendment or the “separation of church and state” here?

  2. Right Reason says:

Private inviduals declining to air another individual’s views, with which the person controlling the podium disagrees, is bigotry and will be regulated, per Congress’ leading Muslim (Keith Ellison).

Congress passing a law that imposes speech on private individuals in their private business functions is legal, per the same jackwagons.

I realize that it is easy to forget what the hell the first amendment actually says, but a refresher can tell us a lot:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Hmmm …. maybe Ayatollah Ellison and his ilk should re-read that amendment.

Or read it for the very first time.

who in the hell does this senator think he is—file a law suit against lowes?????—-he is crazy and what the hell is he in charge of a town—–is this communist sneaking into our gov’t like we all suspect they are doing—talk about ruffing up business??? this is so unbelievable—now you see the TRUE COLORS????

  5. blue says:

Does this mean we can force the DNC & Obama 2012 to advertise on Fox??

  6. StuartN says:

I suggest calling LOWE’S, and offering them your support.

  7. Sgt Stadenko says:

So, when left-wing activist groups force advertisers to quit Glenn Beck’s TV show, or Rush Limbaugh’s radio show under threat of boycott, should “legislative action” be taken to remedy this, too?

Over the next two weeks, we’re doing a bathroom remodel; probably going to spend a few thousand dollars on tiles, fixtures, plumbing supplies, etc. I just called Lowe’s corporate (336-658-4000), and asked to speak to Tom Lamb, Senior VP of Marketing & Advertising, and I was put through to his office. While I wasn’t able to speak to him directly, I told his executive assistant about our remodel plans, and that we support their right to choose where they spend their advertising dollars, and that we would be buying our supplies at Lowe’s. The assistant thanked me, told me he would pass my message along to Mr. Lamb, then he took down my name and address and said that he was going to send us a $50 gift card!

Gift card or not, we need to let businesses know when we approve of their decisions just as often as we let businesses know we disapprove of other decisions.

All Muslims or Muslim sympathizers must be removed from any government office and the military. These people are our enemies within! Muslims are not a religious group! They are a political militant group plotting and planning the overthrow of our Republic. If Obama is left unchecked along with this sidekick Holder, we are in serious trouble. In fact, if he isn’t removed before the next election it could be curtains for all of us! The Chief Muslim, the Usurper of the White House should also be removed and tried for Treason!!

  11. FrankW says:

    Translated from the liberalease.
Freedom of speech is when you choose to say exactly what we want you to say. You are free to parrot what we approve of. And to think lao calls us sock-puppets. I would like to see his explanation of elison in regards to this one.

  13. Louisiana Steve says:

I think they should go ahead and advertise on Jihad TV. The First Amendment should protect the content of their advertisements….Christmas decorations!

  14. Chris in N.Va. says:

Completely (il)logical extension of Abominational Care.

Soon we’ll also be told WHERE to shop and precisely WHAT we are and are not allowed to purchase with our Government-issued Eternal Debt card (don’t leave home without it!).

Larry, Moe, Curly and Shemp aren’t the only stooges on the airwaves…

  15. whotothewhat says:

So if a Sponsor pulled it advertising from a Christian themed show like lets say the Duggar’s you know the one on 19 kids and counting also shown on TLC. Would the lib’s call for that Sponsor to be forced to apologize and restore support. My guess would be no. And are they going to force me by law watch a show about Islamofascism?

  16. KR says:

In Lieu’s bio, he states that his parents immigrated when he was three yrs. old.

Not sure where they are from, but China is a likely possibility. American freedoms were probably a big motivation to immigrate. Ironic that Lieu sees no problem in doing away with some of the liberty which allowed him to be successful.

  17. Spartan24 says:

We have spent over 3000.00 on flooring from Lowes. I will have to make sure that we do all our home improvement shopping from them. Not only do I think they are doing the right thing pulling adverts from this propaganda piece last year we purchased carpet and scheduled an install when we got word that my dad passed away. Not only were they able to reschedule the install for the next day the carpet manager stayed late cutting our order herself. I would recommend Lowes to anyone.

  18. Son of Taz says:

@Henry: I couldn’t agree with you more. Now let’s call the offices of Ellison and Lieu and let them know how we feel about their position.

At their core, liberals are cowards and when they hear from the voters, they usually back down and hide under their desks.

  19. Son of Taz says:

Oh by the way – I canceled a Homo Depot card with a credit line of $15,000 a while back. I’d been a charge customer for nine years. Not a peep was heard from anyone in that organization.

  20. LogicMine says:

Sounds like LOWE’S stock is about to soar!

  21. IslandLifer says:

Thanks Henry. I’ll be doing the same. Like I said it’s time to put up or shut up! And I think too many have been keeping their mouth shut for far too long. Then those 2 cockroaches will get a call right after that. I’ve been doing that with establishments caving in to the left and usually get no reply (almost zero) but at least I said something.

  22. IslandLifer says:

    Ted Lieu 310-318-6994
    Keith Ellison 612-522-1212
Neither were available but I left a very detailed message expressing my disbelief of their comments and that I stood behind Lowes decision and that those 2 clowns need to rethink their position. I just got an answering machine at Lowes but left a nice message of support.

  23. FrankW says:

Still no troll support for elison and friend? Where is the moral outrage on this one from the left?

  24. 762x51 says:

If the Dummycrats can force Lowes, even by extortion with the threat of legislation, to support such an anti-American POS as this Muslim lie, they can force anyone to say or do anything under threat of legal action. If that doesn’t work they just send the military to scoop you off the streets and imprison you for life.

That will spawn a new generation of libtard reality shows like North American Gulag, The Real Housewives of Muhammad, Suicide Bomber Chef, Hollywood Jihadi, Say Yes to the Bomb Vest, Redistribution Pyramid, Deadliest IED, The Amazing Race Across the Border, Tori and Dean and Sharia, American Infidel, Allah Knows Best, on and on.

The alternative is we stop them, NOW, by ballots or bullets.

  25. Gordy says:

Lowe’s shouldn’t have gotten involved with this to start with, but since they did, they should at least stick to their principles and do what they want, in spite of anyone’s opinion. Now, no matter what they do, they’re gonna look like a bunch of pansies. As it is written, “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” (James 1:8)

  26. FrankW says:

I perused some of the commentary of DU. It seems they can not separate between a company voluntarily choosing how to spend their money and someone having their free speech rights blocked.

  27. Path says:

I’ve never shopped at Lowe’s – but I will in the future. I called the phone number give a bit above just to offer my support in that they should be able to advertise in any way they wish and the young lady sounded relieved and was very appreciative. To a commentator above – we are already being told what we can and cannot buy, what we can and cannot eat. Does the name Michelle O mean anything to you. How about the banning of certain foods in restaurants/cities throughout our great country – I mean, after all we’re not smart like the elite Demo’s and couldn’t possibly make our own choices.

  28. TexasDoc says:

Good luck on that stupid legislation. Like it won’t be immediately chucked out in court. Part of the freedom of expression is the freedom to choose in which venue you choose to express yourself. Of course, an idiot like Ellison and a moron like Lieu hide behind their constitutional protection afforded to legislators from being sued personally for libel, slander or $h!t they fling.

  29. angryK9 says:

762×51. I agree 100%. These assclowns must be removed. Vote them out or……

  30. Viancome says:

Maby we should let congress go ahead and legislate and force Lows to advertise on the show. Then Conservatives can force radical liberals to pay to have their advertisements shown on ultra-conservative channels. Like force the DNC to pay to have their campaign ads on Conservative channels and radio shows, we could all use a good laugh.

  31. culebra775 says:

Ted Leiu (D, Torrance) is the one who is quoted as saying that the Tea Party and the NRA “manufactured” the Fast and Furious controversy. It seems he is frequenting his local dispensary waaaay to often. While he’s at it, he should introduce legislation forcing Chik-Fil-A to advertise on “Ellen”.

  32. Beef says:

This kind of intimidation is absolute tyranny. It is time for a real “change”.

  33. beforethestorm says:

I won’t even begin to try to argue how deeply wrong these politicians are…if you need to have this explained to you, you are beyond my power to reach already.

I think these “representatives” have a single brain cell that they pass around among them. Maybe suggesting that it’s a whole brain cell is too generous.

  34. Clingtomyguns says:

I wish we had a politician with the guts to tell Leiu that he he is America, not Red China. And if he wants to live here start behaving like an American.

  35. David Wendell says:

Hang in there Lowes ! I do not patronize Home Depot because they partake in parades that honor homosexual practices.

  36. TaterSalad says:

Starting today….I have become part owner in Lowe’s. By purchasing Lowe’s stocks I have voted a voice of confidence in this company for their actions and hopefully it pis_es off every liberal, every Muslim that is behind this BS and especially this Congressman.

  37. Cameraman says:

These Congresscriters need to be Impeached or worse, where in Hell do they think they can force a Corp to advertise on any Show? WTF, Oh I forgot! Dear Leader has forced us to Buy Health Ins, through OBAMACARE,So Elison and Leiu are on Target! Time to starve the Beast!

  38. Mickey Shea says:

Has there ever been a more inappropriate name than The Learning Channel?
It’s actually The Freakshow Channel, with shows about 200 lb tumors,
800 pound women, dwarves, siamese twins, freaks, it’s like the National Enquirer used to be be when I was a kid, lowest common denominator shock trash.

  39. Jeffery says:

While I do not agree with Lowes’ call to pull their advertising…I think they caved to a pressure group. I certainly do not agree with Ellison, et al, suing over it. Lowes should be allowed to pull the ads, no matter what any of us think. Ads are a form of free speech. In a society such as ours, pulling the ads, or keeping them in place will have an effect on public opinion, that has its own rewards or penalties.

  40. Mike Francis says:

You watch too much TV. It’s rotted your brain.

  41. Red says:

Those ads also provide funding to the entity sharing them from their broadcast. Any private company can decide where their money is spent. Maybe after Obama is voted out this next election, this kind of thing will not be an issue of any kind.

  42. David Wilson says:

We are still a “free market” right? Muslims are still in the terriost business right? Has anyone ever seen a “american” muslim protesting terriost???? NO! I will spend my money at Lowes and the muslims can go back to the middle east and kill each other.
