DHS Characterizes Patriotic Americans as Terrorists

Did you honor the 4th yesterday, if only by thinking patriotic thoughts? Then the gang of oligarchical collectivists calling itself your government considers you a likely terrorist:

A new study funded by the Department of Homeland Security characterizes Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority,” and “reverent of individual liberty” as “extreme right-wing” terrorists.

Entitled Hot Spots of Terrorism and Other Crimes in the United States, 1970-2008 (PDF), the study was produced by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism at the University of Maryland. The organization was launched with the aid of DHS funding to the tune of $12 million dollars.

$12 million is a lot for a report consisting essentially of ultra-left talking points that any MSNBC host could have jotted down off the top of his head. Fortunately, Homeland Security ingeniously finances its anti-terror programs with money confiscated from the suspected terrorists themselves (otherwise known as taxpaying American citizens).

While largely omitting Islamic terrorism — the report fails completely to mention the 1993 World Trade Center bombing — the study focuses on Americans who hold beliefs shared by the vast majority of conservatives and libertarians and puts them in the context of radical extremism.

According to the ideology of our rulers, it is Islamophobic to associate Islam with Islamic terrorism, leaving them with no choice but to pretend it doesn’t exist.

The report takes its definitions from a 2011 study entitled Profiles of Perpetrators of Terrorism, produced by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism, in which the following characteristics are used to identify terrorists.

• Americans who believe their “way of life” is under attack;

• Americans who are “fiercely nationalistic (as opposed to universal and international in orientation)”;

• People who consider themselves “anti-global” (presumably those who are wary of the loss of American sovereignty);

• Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority”;

• Americans who are “reverent of individual liberty”;

• People who “believe in conspiracy theories that involve grave threat to national sovereignty and/or personal liberty.”

That is to say, according to the federal government, every American is either a moonbat or a terrorist.

Opponents of abortion also qualify as suspected terrorists. An earlier document denounced as potential terrorists Ron Paul fans, libertarians, owners of gold, and those who display the US flag. Even liberals can qualify as terror suspects by paying cash for a cup of coffee.

If the moonbats in Washington comprised a legitimate government, they would execute their responsibilities, which consist primarily of upholding the Constitution and defending the borders from invasion. Since they consistently and deliberately fail to do both, we are not governed, but ruled.

The relationship between the federal government and the American people can be characterized in a single word: enmity.

A likely terrorist.

    A right wing extremist terrorist? Moi ?
    no, but I can tell you where the terrorist in chief lives

  2. Henry says:

    Pay attention to the absolute numbers of “extreme” left-wing terrorism vs. “extreme” right-wing terrorism…

  3. Mikhail Evansky says:

    This is what they need to put all american patriots in FEMA GULAG camps.

    • Americans who believe their “way of life” is under attack;
    …..that would be anything related to the free market, and desire to replace our centrally planned economy with a free market.
    • Americans who are “fiercely nationalistic (as opposed to universal and international in orientation)”;
    …..this is to keep up the facade that the National Socialists were on the far right, and that Nationalism was more important than Socialism.
    • People who consider themselves “anti-global” (presumably those who are wary of the loss of American sovereignty);
    …..Yeah, like I want the good folks of Iran, England, Japan, and China to be voting on my rights to keep and bare arms.
    • Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority”;
    …..No need to be suspicious. The oppressive arm of centralized authority has been laid bare for all to see. It is clearly “their way or else.” Don’t get them mad at you.
    • Americans who are “reverent of individual liberty”;
    …..Maybe it’s collective liberty I should revere. That whole issue about self-evident truths.
    • People who “believe in conspiracy theories that involve grave threat to national sovereignty and/or personal liberty.”
    …..Again no need to believe in conspiracy theories. I’m perfectly fine with the White House posting a copy of Obama’s birth certificate that can be demonstrated to be a forgery in many ways. Or that a self proclaimed communist was a member of the administration, or that there was a ball on the White House Christmas tree with a picture of Mao.
    Suspicious? Not me.

    What we have here another example of twisting the meaning of a word. DHS has so expanded the defenition of the word, as to render it meaningless. It seems to DHS that any one, for any reason now disagrees with the actions of antichirst Obama’s administration is now a “terrorist”. But the emotional content of the word still lingers. Such are the times we live in. Of course there is no real logic to matter, only a political agenda.

    This garbage report might has well have been written by HuffPo or the Obama Regime’s communication department. For any serious report on terrorist threats in the US to not have a large portion devoted to the threat in America of radical Muslims and Islamic extremists (such as Nidal Hassan, or the large concentrations of Muslims in Michigan) and instead focus on normal Americans as threats is sheer lunacy. Yet the report does not contain the word Muslim at all, and mentions Islam just in passing, and just groups them generally with those “who seek to politicize religion, such as Christian Reconstructionists and Islamists.” Unbelievable, our government now believes that Islamists are no greater threat terrorist threat than Christians who believe the Bible. By the way, can any of these eggheads point to any terrorist act of any “Christian Reconstructionist.”

    To claim that patriotic American’s (true Americans) who believe in limited government is to completely divorce itself from reality and enter the make-believe land of political correctness. The academics who write this tripe suck off the teat of taxpayer money to have time to pontificate over their hair-brained conclusions and are of the same politically driven ilk as the global warming nuts.

    “Religious: groups that seek to smite the purported enemies of God and other evildoers, impose strict religious tenets or laws on society (fundamentalists), forcibly insert religion into the political sphere (e.g., those who seek to politicize religion, such as Christian Reconstructionists and Islamists), and/or bring about Armageddon (apocalyptic millenarian cults; 2010: 17). For example, Jewish Direct Action, Mormon extremist, Jamaat-al-Fuqra, and Covenant, Sword and the Arm of the Lord (CSA) are included in this category.”

    By the way the non-terrorist, non-hate crime massacrer Nidal Hassan will finally go on trial in August, but expect the DOJ to step in at any minute and slam the court for denying him religious liberties by forcing him to cut off his Muslim-jihadist beard.

  7. Winston Smith says:

    And they never mention the Occupy movements goals of destroying “the rich” or that its “time to shoot some cops” or those idiots in Ohio who planned to blow up a bridge who were OccuCommies. Or the New Black Panthers with paramilitary goons who try to intimidate voters or have a leader who declares its time to kill some crackers and their babies. Left wing loon whove advocated rounding up conservatives into camps for re-education and the hard core ones for extermination. The list goes on.

  8. Mr Evilwrench says:

    Yeah, seems like every mass murder or bombing or whatnot is perpetrated by someone with radical leftist writings, or who is at the rightest not political at all, except maybe the abortion clinic ones. Heck, I’m extremely right wing and I’ve done, well, um, none of that. Yeah, the right is what you have to watch out for, for sure. Don’t let your friends stay home this election. Please.

  9. Chris in N.Va. says:

    A wholly expected report commissioned by His Majesty the King’s royal sycophants (suck-o-phants?) emblazoned with the King’s royal imprimatur in response to raucous claims of personal freedom being proffered by “uppity” knuckle-dragging colonialists who refuse to bow and wet-kiss the Kings pinky signet ring.

    So there!!

  10. Laurie says:

    I just had a great idea…..

    Since the Hussein Administration has fingered anyone who’s shown even the slightest bit of patriotism as a “terrorist”, then it’s our sworn duty to report any terrorists we see.

    Therefore….let’s search the archives of YouTube and find every broadcast of any news anchor, talk show host, politician, etc., who even hints at free thinking, independence, liberty, patriotism, etc. and report them to Hussein. A long-term continuous email/Twitter/fax campaign to TV stations, the DOJ, Hussein, and all politicians should make them re-think that report.

    Let’s start with Hillary Clinton. Her ranting about “patriotism” and “disagreeing with any administration” sounds pretty “suspicious of centralized authority”, don’t you agree?

    By their own report, Hillary is a terrorist and deserves an in-depth, as-bad-as-a-cavity-search investigation into her background, lifestyle, finances, and entire family.

    This is going to be fun!!

  11. A terrorist says:

    Don’t worry, even though we are surrounded by terrorists, it’s O.K.!!!!
    Because His Royal HIGHness has claimed for himself the power to assassinate terrorists from the air, via remote control!! So far, it has only been in other countries, but that is just a detail. American citizens can be tried, convicted, and executed by one man, with no defense, no appeal, not even a warning. If that is not a dictatorship, tell me what is!!!!

  12. Jodie says:

    Oh, so now we can use the word “terrorist”?

    The word that Obama and company refuse to use to describe radical Islamic savage killers, but we can now use to describe white Christians?

  13. Jimbo says:

    I certainly HOPE every single liberal dipshit in America is terrified of us. It’s the only thing that keeps them from rounding us up.

    Be terrified, liberals. Be very terrified.

  14. Sam says:

    But meanwhile, we have sitting Congressshits declaring we should model our schools after madrassas.

  15. Ghost of FA Hayek says:

    This “report” is of little consequence other than a toothless dog gumming it’s food
    Let’s see the Lightworker try to turn the military, the police on their own.
    It would take brigades of Zombie pot smoking leftists with nerves of steel and a willingness to die for the cause
    I worry more that these useful idiots will eventually sic the Chi coms on us.

  16. Path says:

    Anyone else think we’re being set up?

  17. 762x51 says:

    They are going to need to redefine terrorism. The damage we can do to them compared to these sissy Islamic terrorists is unimaginable.

    Taking back America by force of arms is all we have left. The time is near.

  18. Jan Penner says:

    The elite hates white Christians of European background.

  19. T says:

    Absurdity once again trumps reason.

  20. TED says:

    Of course, the Taliban, an offshoot of the DHS thinks so also.

  21. greencarman says:

    The fact is, the report categorizes the motivations behind actual terrorist incidents within the US. It breaks down these motivations into five categories: Extreme right wing, Extreme left wing, Religious, Ethno-nationalistic, and Single issue.

    The report accounts for terrorist incidents between 1970 and 2008 and actually finds only 72 “extreme right” and “religious” incidents vs. 364 “extreme left” incidents and 657 “entho/nationalistic” and “single issue” incidents.

    In other words, “extreme right wing” incidents were by far the least common motivation. And those incidents were perpetrated by people with the defined characteristics.

    There is no way that this report can fairly be described as calling anyone a terrorist who has not committed an act of terrorism nor that people matching these categories tend to be terrorists.

    The Moonbattery article is completely dishonest. What a surprise!
