Dick Durbin Compares Obama’s Illegal Alien Amnesty Decree to the Emancipation Proclamation, Denounces Constitution as “Fatally Flawed”

If American troops are the equivalent of Nazis and Khmer Rouge killers, then unconstitutionally voiding immigration law so as to swamp the country with Third World welfare colonists must be just like the Emancipation Proclamation — at least, according Democrats’ #2 man in the Senate, Dick Durbin:

“We celebrate that day 152 years ago when a Republican President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, issued an executive order, an executive order, the Emancipation Proclamation, which freed 3 million slaves in America. It is proper that we celebrate that moment because America stepped forward because of that president’s courage and the use of his executive power.”

This comes in the context of Obama ignoring the law to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens. In this context, “courage” means “contemptuous arrogance.”

As for the Constitution that demands Obama faithfully execute the laws instead of governing as a dictator, Durbin opines:

“[I]f we view this document with honesty, we know that it was fatally flawed from the start.”

Yet he swore an oath to uphold it. Since he obviously has no intention of upholding a “fatally flawed” document, he should be removed from power at once — along with the rest of his kind.

As hostile to this country as founded as ISIS is.

The Dick from IL also compared American troops to Nazis.

Can’t wait for him to get down with some of his homies from IS or Al Qaeda.

And it can’t be too soon.

He’s correct, at least from the viewpoint of any and all leftists, socialists, communists, progressives or any of the others groups who would like to see our Constitutional Republic destroyed. The built in provisions in the Constitution (if properly used, which is questionable of late) won’t allow them to simply do what they want to.

When you vote for an incumbent you are perpetuating our government as it is now. Nothing will change.

Here are 3 short sentences, you may find interesting.

These three, short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment :

    1.) We are advised NOT
to judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to
judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few (liberal) lunatics. Funny how that works. And here’s another one worth considering.

2.) Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. How come we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money? What’s interesting is the first group “worked for” their money, but the second didn’t. Think about it…..

    Last but not least:

3.) Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping payments to illegal aliens such as monthly payments for each child, money for
housing, Food Stamps, free education including college and also the right to
    vote?

Am I the only one missing something? If not, pass this along.

This is the thinking we face. They KNOW they hate the Constitution, but lie about it…or did, but now it’s no longer necessary. They can just come out and SAY it, since no media other than Fox or internet websites will report it.

THESE TRAITORS ARE GOING TO KILL US, so we’d better start defending ourselves proactively. It may be too late, but I personally will not go the way of the Jews in Europe, just passively walking to the boxcars.

…and now you know why they’re outlawing .223’s.

The Proclamation of Emancipation was a war time measure to weaken a confederation of seceding states. Lincoln was only to aware that in the normal course of business the federal government did NOT have the power to end slavery where it already existed. That is why the XII, XIV, and XV Amendments were needed. As far as the Constitution being flawed there are two methods of correcting that state. a Constitutional Convention and the amendment process.
President Lincoln had a strong belief in the Constitution and it took a war to make him use the war powers. Perhaps Senator Durban would care to explain with whom we are at war and how granting amnesty helps us with that war.

I see at least one other poster covered the facts I am about to present, but let me do so in my own inimitable way:

The Emancipation Proclamation did not free a single slave, and furthermore it was deliberately written to avoid freeing any slaves it COULD HAVE freed:

It was written so it applied only to states designated as being in rebellion, those places where the words and dictates of Lincoln had no power at all.

In the slave-holding border states of Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, and Missouri and areas of the Confederacy that had already come under Union control it did not apply.

Further, most people apparently don’t seem to know what Lincoln thought about blacks – basically that they didn’t belong here. His idea, his goal, was to send them all back to Africa ‘where they belonged’.

Well it was argued they did not have the authority to secede in the first place, but I agree that if a state’s people are determined to leave the union (foolish as that would be under normal circumstances, not so foolish now) one would think a valid argument could be made they have that right.

What he didn’t have was the authority to tell people in states where he had no control what to do with their slaves. So he did it anyway, knowing it was a gesture, not anything that really was meaningful.

A lot like Obama’s promises, two of which were to close GITMO and to roll back the Patriot Acts, or at least important parts of them.

On his last day in office, who knows… maybe he will order it?

  59. Mr. Freemarket says:

Good comments. Under the Articles of Confederation, our first constitution, there was the provision that states that had once joined the union couldn’t leave it. For whatever reason, those provisions were left out of our current constitution.

It is inconsistent to found a government dedicated to preserving freedom and liberty that would deny states the freedom and liberty to leave the association which they had voluntarily joined.

Of course this issue may be revisited in the not too distant future.
