Déjà Vu

“Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it”

“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
—Benjamin Franklin

Just how much damage do moonbats have to do before we stop electing them to the presidency?

Compliments of Michelle.

Are you saying making the movie about Islam was a bad idea or are you calling the person who made it a moonbat?

  2. reality's liberal bias says:

… Wow. a brave card for the likes of you people to play…

“Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it”

… things like tax cuts for billionaires don’t count, eh? Trickle down doesn’t work, hasn’t ever worked, but remains the GOP platform. There are myriad examples. We could talk about deregulation, we could talk about opposing the AIG bailout (which, for the record, announced today that the US has officially made $15.1 Billion profit – a 12% return)… W invaded everything that looked at him funny. What did we learn? That government spending is only OK if the GOP does it, I suppose…

What else has the Right failed to learn from? Oh. Riiiight. That only applies to Dems… just because. Facts are so damned inconvenient sometimes…

  3. Nangleator says:

You gonna pull this post, too, like the tweets one?

Those filmmakers are on bin Laden’s side, and working as hard as they can towards his goals. Sure, the buildings they pretend to worship in are different… but I’ll bet they are deliriously happy than an American was killed already, with more deaths on the way.

  4. reality's liberal bias says:

PS – I called out the bullshit on the Twitter post… and it disappeared! No more post, at all!

Loooove it when I am correct, demonstrably, and the immediate response is to remove it so nobody else realizes that this blog lies to you all the time!

  5. Nangleator says:

RLB, this whole site is based on lies, deceitful editing, and the construction of a false Obama in which to fear. Throw a few facts at them, and they’ll immediately try to find out information about you so they can begin personal attacks.

Look down a little for the Executive Orders post. They blame Obama for executive orders going back into the early 60’s.

Sadly, it takes longer to point out the truth than it takes to lie, so they keep the shoveling up, in order to bury facts. Even more sadly, they will knowingly disregard facts they don’t like. Deliberately maintained ignorance.

  7. FrankW says:

In response to reality’s liberal bitch:
I am sorry the twitter thing disappeared as well. I had a response for you but it disappeared when I tried to post it. So here it is.
I will acknowledge bawwee sent the tweet you have religiously parroted like a good liberal.
These are the facts of the case:
    Romney tweeted a 9/11 thought at 6:10 a.m.(ET I presume)
At 7:07 a.m. bammy tweeted a election day reminder. Over 3 hours later (9:47 a.m.) bammy tweets a 9/11 message.
These are facts and they are indisputable. No twist to them.
This is argument that is likely to be true. bammy’s first thought is not to consider the gravity of the date but to consider the gravity of his election. In all probability bammy’s staff (as it is noted they run his account) noticed Romney’s tweet (all indications are that he runs his own) and then decided they had screwed up by not noting the date. They then had a quick meeting with the boss and decided to play catch up.
This is in keeping with the documented past of bammy. He has never exhibited a country first persona. He has always appeared to have a me-first mentality.
Character reference: Besides didn’t both candidates agree to not politik on 9/11? This violated by bammy and supporters repeatedly.
    Closing statement and verdict:
Based on a simple preponderance of the evidence it is held that bammy (or his twitter controlling surrogates) chose the election as a primary thought over and beyond that of the solemnity of the date.
    Guilty of self-centeredness.
    Penalty:
Hopefully unemployment as of January 22, 2013.

    From your NEWSMAX headline blurb:

Violent protests in Libya that claimed the life of the U.S. ambassador were the result of President Obama’s decision to intervene in the Libyan revolt without a “deep appreciation” for what would follow, former CIA Director Michael Hayden tells Newsmax.

“I’m reminded of Secretary of State Powell’s comments about Iraq going back almost a decade — the Pottery Barn theory that if you break it you own it.

“Here’s a case where we went into Libya for reasons that seemed very powerful for some people at the time, almost all of them in Tehran, perhaps without a true or deep appreciation for what the secondary and tertiary effects of overthrowing [Libyan ruler Moammar] Gadhafi would be.

    You’re a blatant liar.

Bush gave tax cuts to ALL. If they don’t work, why has Obama repeatedly urged a Democrat controlled Congress to continue them?

Trickle down DOES work, absent the regulatory and tax burdens imposed by socialists.

  11. FrankW says:

As far as trickle down goes, how many poor people pay your wages?
I would rather work for a rich guy (having wealth demonstrates an ability to succeed) than for a poor person without the ability to meet a payroll.
I will fully acknowledge that the left and the right both have holes in their memory as far as past failures.
Tax cuts for billionaires do incentivize the economy in ways that more welfare well never do. When a business owner has less to pay in taxes they tend to invest in their company, through either expansion of workforce or investing in facilities (also creating jobs). When a business owner pays more in taxes they tend to be a lot more tightfisted.
This is basic economic theory and has been repeatedly proven in reality. But I really do not expect intellectual honesty from libs so rip away.

FrankW: “As far as trickle down goes, how many poor people pay your wages?”

All of them. There wouldn’t be rich people if the non-rich didn’t buy things every day. Workers get their jobs based on demand. Demand is people buying things.

As for Obama perhaps forgetting “the gravity of the date” well, he remembered it on May 2, 2011, didn’t he?

That demand didn’t make those goods available nor did it magically produce wages.

Of all the Dem talking points you robotically regurgitated, the only one where you were even close to correct is on bailouts – they are wrong in general. There are exceptions – where socialist interference (and that can be tax, regulation or union interference) in capitalism caused the need for a bailout.

And with this I’m inclined to agree, because at least they all got their talking points from similar propaganda sources:

    Who buys things?
Rich people and poor people. Rich people buy things like aircraft (employs thousands), boats (employs thousands on the coasts), cars (employs thousands in Michigan – etc).
There will always be poor people and rich people. Being rich is an ability to find ways to hold onto resources instead of being frivolous with them. Look back at any culture and you will find haves and have nots. In the islands there was always the guy that caught more fish and was able to trade for a better hut, there was always a caveman with more and better spears, there is always going to be winners and losers.
BTW, where do the poor get the money to buy things? From rich people and evil corporations.

The situation now? The sitatuation now is that something bad just happend. Misguided religious fundamentalists have just killed a man. Plenty of demand for food in North Korea, too. Yet no supply. Stalin starved over 12 million Ukranians to death so he could sell the grain they would have eaten to buy equipment only available in the west. Mao starved 50 million Chinese to demonstrate that his farming techniques actually worked.

  39. AC says:

AC: Are you honestly using the economy of the Soviet Union, a command economy in which everybody worked and produced after a strict plan, to teach us how a free market works? Really?

Yes. The Soviet Union is an excellent example of failed economics in action.

Demand does not create jobs nor does it create supply. Producers create supply by employing accumulated capital in the production process. That process is broken under a command economy, because would-be producers are not free to respond to the market’s demand.

Producers create things with capital and work. Bureaucrats cannot create things by pushing a few buttons on a keyboard and topping up an EBT card.

  40. AC says:

Here’s what you are misrepresenting, the idea that there has first to be demand for anything to get in the first phases of development, which would be an insane thing to say.

This is blatantly false. Many revolutionary inventions are capable of things the general public never thought possible or are designed to address problems the public never knew they had.

Some of our best inventions resulted from bold entrepreneurs who entered into production without existing demand, armed only with the hope that their idea would stimulate demand once supply was available.

So supply and demand lose their recoprocity. AND NEITHER ARE THEIR PRIVATE OWNERS IN A COMMAND ECONOMY. Command economies don’t work because 5-year plans aren’t flexible enough to follow trends, not because the publicly owned companies can’t produce enough.
    ________

Command economies don’t work because they ignore the relationship between price and demand. Those that work hard don’t get paid any more than those who work at a minimal level, therefore everyone eventually works at a minimum of effort.

Prices are what signal to the economy the demand for a product. If the price of toilet paper goes up, manufacturers will crank out more toilet paper. People will stay late if necessary to meet demand. In a command economy, the government dictates quotas. If a quota is not met, who cares; there is always tomorrow.
    _________
Subsidies are there to steer economic development into a direcion the government works, they are like medication: to much and you get an overdose (economic bubble), not enough and the illness kills the pacient anyway, it has to be the right amount to work well.
    _________

Subsidies are government interfering with market demand. If the government wants more homes built, they keep long term interest rates low (how’d that work out for us). Government subsidies are also used to keep Amtrak running when it is clear to almost anyone that the day of the passenger train in the US has pretty well run its course.
Central planners love subsidies, just as they like to manipulate tax policy and regulation to bring about their version of where the country should go. Subsidies, variable tax rates, and most regulation have no place in a country of free people. Why is it a concern of the federal government how many gallons I use per flush? Why do they concern themselves with what light bulbs I use?

Of course, this entire situation would have been avoided if the Embassy guards had been equipped with rifles, live ammo, and authorization to use them in an emergency. A watchtower or two equipped with an M2HB wouldn’t hurt either.

If you don’t like getting shot, don’t commit acts of war and call them “protests”.

    Also:
““Hollywood makes all kinds of films and statements that offend me.”

Whaaahhhh poor you. Life is tough. Get a helmet.”

Sinister, you completely missed the point of Ummah’s statement. If he went out, stormed an embassy, and killed a bunch of people because that hypothetical movie offended him, would you say the same thing? Would you blame him, or the movie?

I blame the Muslims for the tragedy in Libya, and weak security policy that allowed them to reach the Embassy with a pulse. In your earlier statements, you have blamed the movie. So if you place the blame on Ummah in his hypothetical scenario, why? Is it because he’s black? Is it because you don’t consider Muslims to be sentient, so like a rabid dog “provoking” them makes you responsible for their actions? Either way you look pretty racist to me.

Actually the farmer came to the machine shop looking for a solution to a problem
Turkey farmers did not know they needed a skid steer loader. They specialize in raising turkeys.
But they suddenly knew they needed one AFTER it was built.

In the fall of 1947 a small business, Keller Manufacturing, was opened in Rothsay MN. The photo is of the first of three locations in Rothsay. Louis Keller was the sole owner/operator until 1953 when his brother Cyril Keller joined him as an equal partner. At that time Keller Manufacturing was a general repair and fabrication business.
Shortly after Cyril joined the business one of Keller Manufacturing’s frequent customers, Eddie Velo, came to Louis and Cyril with a problem in the summer of 1956. Eddie was one of the pioneers in the turkey industry as it was going from small flocks to large producers utilizing large two story barns. Eddie was finding it more difficult to get the manure cleaned out of his turkey barns. Standard loader tractors couldn’t be used because of their limited maneuverability, plus they were too heavy to operate on the second story.

Some time went by but the Kellers didn’t forget Eddie’s problem. After a drive system was designed that had the possibility of providing the maneuverability required (see photo), Eddie agreed to pay a fair manufacturing cost for the loader if it worked. If it didn’t work the Kellers would forfeit their time and Eddie would pay for the materials since many of them could be used for general repair jobs.

Subsidies are there to steer economic development into a direcion the government works

How well are subsidies working in the solar industry ?
How about the Chevy Volt ?
Are people flocking to it ?
How about the Ethanol industry ?
How on earth can we justify a peanut subsidy ?
    A subsidy on wool ? Cotton ?
Just where are all these subsidies going ?

1.6 million farm subsidy checks for $1.3 billion, mailed to urban zip codes during the past decade. New York City “farmers” pocketed $7 million during the past decade, Washington, D.C., “farmers” $10 million, Los Angeles “farmers” $10.7 million, Minneapolis “farmers” $48 million, Miami “farmers” $54.5 million, and Phoenix “farmers” $71.5 million. Among those on the take, to the tune of $1.3 million: 47 “farmers” in Beverly Hills, California—one of America’s wealthiest cities.
The truth is that subsidies are nothing but a miss allocation of resources.
Governments invest other peoples money for a POLITICAL return

I remember very clearly, even though I was five-years-old, the terror caused by an inept administration. I remember the hopelessness and powerless of America as we listened to the nightly threats by the Iranian “students” to chop up the heads of the Americans. Ah, if things only looked so good now. He finally has done what I said he’d do four years ago, Obama has made Carter look like a great president.

Command economies also dictate what is to be produced and how it is to be produced, in addition to the price. In fact, many command economies maintain a semblance of variable pricing, with bureaucrats setting subsidies and ration limits instead of dictating a fixed retail price.

One thing to note about command economies is the frequent situation where goods are unavailable at any price because the institutions of bureaucracy have yet to notice or grant clearance to those who would produce.

Your focus on demand is oversimplistic.

I’m so sick of Libs on this sight defending, without merit, Obama and the Leftist agenda. Nothing, I mean nothing good has come about in his presidency the last 4 years. Name it, go ahead. More debt, more regulations, more taxes, more unemployment, jobs lost, more bureaucracy, punishing the producers & glorifying the takers, pandering to people that hate us & are jealous of our freedom which allows us to be successful with hard work. You rabidly defend the wacked out Socialist & Communist agendas, but history proves you wrong EVERY time. The jealousy of success by the Left is mindboggling.

Enough already. Leave. You hate everything that truly makes this Country great. It’s still a free Country (at the moment), leave, take your families with you. I’ll pay your one way tickets there….seriously I will.

Trying to debate a Liberal is like pushing a rope. It’s pointless. They’re blind to facts, statistics and history. Emotion rules their world.

Man up, you pussies. Either take some responsibility and ownership for the Liberal decisions that rule your life and all the chaos those decisions have created for everyone, or leave.

All of societies current problems lie directly at the Hippy generation, and their offspring’s feet. You can’t go through life being irresponsible and expect the responsible ones to clean up your mess, time after time after time.

    I’ve had it.

That is because he is trying to exclude government subsidy from his version of a command economy
Subsidy is just a more expensive and convoluted way to price fix
And sometimes it even causes prices to rise.
Take a four year college education as an example
Money pours into these liberal institutions from both Federal and State governments
Yet tuition rates continue to rise.
    Why ?
Because they become so awash in cash they no longer are beholden to market forces.
Filling empty seats becomes less and less of a concern.
Is that four year degree placing you deep in debt ?
Be sure to thank the very government that claims to be “doing something about it”
