Ebola Could Have Spiced Up 1970s Entertainment

Obama’s refusal to restrict the inflow of potential vectors from the Ebola Zone has made travel more exciting than ever.

A potential outbreak will add zest to any luxury cruise:

Obama administration officials said a Dallas health care worker who handled a lab specimen from a Liberian man who died from Ebola is self-quarantined on a Caribbean cruise ship and is being monitored for infection. … The government is working to return the woman and her husband to the U.S. before the ship, the Carnival Magic, completes its cruise.

An update via The Last Refuge:

Belizean authorities are stating the Dallas Healthcare worker is exhibiting Ebola symptoms (also below) and refusing port entry for emergency airlift evacuation. Armed Coast Guard vessels are forcing the Carnival Magic Cruise Ship to remain at sea. This is quickly becoming an international incident. There are 3,652 passengers on board and a total population of 4,633 souls at risk.

Too bad The Love Boat isn’t still on the air. This would make a great episode. Gopher falls for a passenger, but it turns out she has Ebola! Can love triumph over a highly contagious, lethal flesh-eating virus?

Or how about this story for an Airport sequel:

A passenger died on a Nigeria-to-JFK flight after a vomiting fit Thursday — and a top lawmaker said officials gave the corpse only a “cursory” exam before declaring that the victim did not have Ebola.

Rep. Peter King said in a letter to Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection that the handling of the remains exposed serious flaws in airport preparedness for an Ebola outbreak.

Between 70 and 100 passengers a day arrive at JFK from the Ebola epicenter countries of Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, King noted, and they have access to public restrooms and mingle with other travelers before their first screening.

Much scarier than snow storms and suicidal bombers!

It’s a shame the 1970s didn’t know about Ebola; today’s news stories would have made for great entertainment.

We need an person with a low grade fever…..

that has treated an ebola diagnosed patient…..

to get all up close and personal with 0B0Z0 or any of his family…..

I’ll bet the US’s handling of this ebola outbreak would change when it’s up close and

    personal with Pressy 0b0la.

At what point will we physically remove this malevolent government? I mean at some point you would think people’s inhibitions will evaporate, that at some point the threat of a new Black Death will overwhelm their fear of disobeying government overlords.

Or maybe the necessary defiance has literally been bred and medicated out of us, a la Brave New World?
