Ed Murray Learns That for Now There Are Still Some Limits

It used to be that public figures were held to high moral standards. But at some point during the Clinton Administration, “Everybody Does It” was embraced by many as our national moral creed. Even now, politicians still resign in disgrace. But before they do, things go much further than they ever would have in the past. Presenting Seattle Mayor Ed Murray, case in point:

A younger cousin of Seattle Mayor Ed Murray on Tuesday became the fifth man to publicly accuse the mayor of sexual abuse, saying Murray repeatedly molested him as a teenager in the 1970s.

Murray announced his resignation hours after the new allegation surfaced.

Joseph Dyer, 54, a dialysis technician and Air Force veteran, says he was 13 when Murray forced him into sex for about a year while the two shared a bedroom in Dyer’s mother’s home in the Long Island town of Medford, New York. …

According to Dyer, the molestation stopped only after a boy in a Catholic group home where Murray worked accused Murray of abuse. His uncle, Dyer said, negotiated to get group-home officials not to pursue charges as long as Murray left. After that, Murray left town…

Dyer’s mother — Murray’s first cousin — said her son came to her several months after Murray moved out to say he had been abused.

“It’s a painful thing for a parent to go through because I wanted to protect all my children,” said Maryellen Sottile, 76. “And here this man came into my home, and he did these terrible things to my son.”

Terrible things? This woman is a homophobe!

Murray, 62, a former Democratic state legislator, has repeatedly denied that he sexually abused anyone, contending the accusations are part of a political takedown targeting him for his progressive politics and record as a gay-rights champion.

But he still had to resign, because the evidence is piling up.

Murray’s other accusers — four men with criminal pasts and drug histories — all claim Murray abused them decades ago, when each was a troubled teenager.

Murray is getting a raw deal. A little further down the Left Coast, another noisily gay politician shared Murray’s M.O. of preying on troubled teenaged boys. Harvey Milk is now regarded as a demigod among liberals. The U.S. Navy is even naming a ship after him. The only difference between disgrace and beatification is that Murray failed to get shot by a guy who ate too many Twinkies.

This pervert was able to stay on as mayor as long as he did ONLY because he is a hard leftist. Had he been a moderate or even slightly conservative, there would have widespread calls for his resignation and demands that the statute of limitations be change to allow his victims to sue and for him to be criminally prosecuted.

The left tolerates, nay demands, all manner of perversions. When someone does not go along with their sick practice of calling evil good and good evil, then they are purged.

Murray is not alone. The Daily Caller reports at least 11 mayors have been arrestd for child sex abuse in the last 18 months.

At Least 11 Mayors Accused Of Child Sex-Related Crimes Since 2016

Murray isn’t alone. At least 11 then-current and former mayors have been accused of child sex abuse-related crimes since 2016. The allegations range from child porn to physical abuse. The alleged victims were as young as four years old.

Stillwater, New York Mayor Rick Nelson resigned earlier this month after being arrested on child porn charges. Nelson has a decades-long history of alleged sexual misconduct involving teenagers and children.

78-year-old Dale Kenyon, former mayor of Clayton, New York was indicted on charges of sexually abusing a teenager over the course of three years.

Dwayne Schutt, 61-year old mayor of Randolph, Nebraska, was arrested in July on multiple child sexual assault charges, KTIV reported. Police say Schutt repeatedly sexually abused a minor over a period of four years, beginning when the victim was 13-years-old.

Former Ohio mayor Richard Keenan, a Democrat, was handed a life sentence in April 2017 after he pled guilty to repeatedly raping a four-year-old girl, WFMJ reported.

Keenan, who was first indicted in August 2016, will be eligible for parole after serving 10 years. He claimed during the trial that the four-year-old was a “willing participant.”

Anthony Silva, then-mayor of Stockton, California, was arrested last August on charges that he provided teens with alcohol at a camp for underprivileged youth that he ran before recording them playing strip poker – and was sentenced to 40 hours of community service. He was later accused of embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from the camp in a case that is ongoing.

Kenneth Lewis Barrett, then-mayor of Winston, Oregon, was one of four men arrested on March 19 as part of a sex sting, KPIC reported. Authorities say the four men believed they were meeting a 14-year-old girl for sex.

The trial of a Georgia man last year convicted of molesting and raping an 11-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl took a dark twist when the girl said that Christopher Wright, then a Georgia mayor, had also raped her and forced her to perform oral sex on him. Wright, who was first elected mayor as a Democrat in 2012 at the age of 22, was indicted in June 2016, WALB reported. Wright pled no contest to child sex abuse and rape in January 2017 but was let off without a prison sentence. He was sentenced to 20 years probation — during which time he can’t seek public office — and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine.

Former Rockdale, Texas mayor Darral Gene Walker was indicted in June 2016 on charges of sexual misconduct. “A copy of the indictment said Walker engaged in sexual contact with a child younger than 17 years of age by touching the boy’s genitals,” TDTNews reported. “Walker admitted that the events happened at his home in Rockdale, but said it was for purely educational reasons, not for sexual gratification.”

Former Millbrook, New York mayor Donald H. Briggs was indicted on felony charges in December 2016, in relation to “alleged inappropriate sexual contact with a person younger than 17,” according to local news reports.

And if all that wasn’t enough, a DeBlasio staffer was caught with child porn.

And the sad thing is some of these were Republicans also.

i’m no fan of perverts of any stripe. but are we now saying that liberals/dims CREATED this perversion or they’re the only ones doing it? the difference to me is that 100 yrs ago this worm would have been beaten to death with an axe by the kids dad. or, in the absence of a dad then mom could have poisoned him and the cops would have said “heart gave out; case closed”. but we’re too “civilized” now to do what’s necessary to protect our kids from monsters like this trash
