Emmanuel Macron Denounces Nationalism on Armistice Day

They fought and died for nothing, proclaimed French President Emmanuel Macron at a gathering of world leaders in Paris in honor of Veterans/Armistice Day. More specifically,

“Patriotism is the exact opposite of nationalism. Nationalism is a betrayal of patriotism by saying ‘our interests first, who cares about the others.’ We erase what a nation holds dearest, what gives it life, what makes it grace, and what is essential – its moral values.”

Looks like progs are trying to do to “patriotism” what they did to “liberalism”: bleach the substance out of it so they can appropriate the word for their own use.

Any dictionary will confirm that patriotism is hardly the opposite of nationalism. Without nationalism, patriotism is unmoored from any real meaning.

Is it patriotic to sacrifice your own nation on behalf of the globalist moonbattery that Macron is probably referring to when he bleats about “moral values”? No. Is it patriotic to let your country be overrun by Third World colonists? No again, though he would probably ask you to think so.

What is patriotic is the nationalism that motivates soldiers to risk their lives and endure great hardship on behalf of their country. The point of Veterans/Armistice Day is to honor them for what they do out of patriotic nationalism.

If French people really think like Macron, it is no wonder Americans and Britons have to fight their wars for them — which has been done not out of idiotic altruism but because it has served American and British nationalist interests.
