When progressives bleat self-righteously about how compassionate they are, you almost have to admire their chutzpah. The alleged liberal motive for killing the unwanted is to save them from suffering. Yet those who aren’t torn to shreds in the womb may be subjected to death by drowning.

Sheren cited the testimony of Canadian Dr. Joel Zivot, Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Surgery [at the Emory] University School of Medicine [in] Atlanta, Georgia.

In February 2021, Zivot refuted the Canadian government’s claim that Midazolam, a drug used in MAiD, provided “relief from anxiety” and “comfort to the patient.”

Instead, he testified to the Canadian Senate that “muscle relaxants when used in MAID will produce death by suffocation.”

Whether you call it suffocation or chemical drowning, it can’t be pleasant. Yet we are told the victims look very peaceful while being killed. Here’s why:

Zivot explained that the muscle relaxant drugs given during MAiD “will produce an outwardly observed stillness as a consequence of muscle paralysis than has wrongly and repeatedly been described as a state of peacefulness.”

It is said to take from 30 minutes to 24 hours for death to occur. A bullet to the head would be more humane, but optics would be a problem.

The most recent reports show that MAiD is the sixth highest cause of death in Canada.

This isn’t trending downward.

On the positive side, Canada’s moonbat rulers can apply Medical Assistance in Dying to save money on pensions and socialized healthcare. It has been presented as a permanent solution for poverty, mental illness, and needing a wheelchair lift. However, it has been denied as a solution to regretting “gender-affirming care.”
