Feds Demand Gun Scope Data From Apple and Google

Apple and Google have mountains of data on those who use smart phones, including where we are at any given time, what we look at online, what we buy, et cetera. That means the feds have mountains of data — at least potentially. Anything Big Tech has, its BFF Big Government can acquire. Forbes has an example pertaining to the imperiled right to bear arms:

According to an application for a court order filed by the Department of Justice (DOJ) on September 5, investigators want information on users of Obsidian 4, a tool used to control rifle scopes made by night-vision specialist American Technologies Network Corp. The app allows gun owners to get a live stream, take video and calibrate their gun scope from an Android or iPhone device. …

If the court approves the demand, and Apple and Google decide to hand over the information, it could include data on thousands of people who have nothing to do with the crimes being investigated, privacy activists warned. … Apple and Google will be told to hand over not just the names of anyone who downloaded the scope app from August 1, 2017 to the current date, but their telephone numbers and IP addresses too, which could be used to determine the location of the user.

If this is happening under a Republican administration, imagine the data bureaucrats will acquire with power-mad Democrats in control.

Anti-American tyrants like Dianne Feinstein, Robert Francis O’Rourke, and Joe Biden have made it crystal clear that as soon as they have the leverage, they will begin confiscating firearms from law-abiding Americans. The progressive agenda can’t be inflicted on a populace able to defend itself.

People will ignore the mandatory “buybacks.” Then will come the knock at the door, because when Silicon Valley knows everything, the federal government will know everything.
