Food-Free School Zones

What could be more insane than inviting mass murderers to target schools by creating gun-free school zones? Actually, nothing. But libs are trying to push the envelope anyway by imposing food-free school zones:

The California legislature introduced a bill last Tuesday that would ban mobile food and beverage trucks within 1,500 feet of elementary and secondary schools. California has the nation’s largest and most diverse school system, so banning mobile food trucks from operating within 1,500 feet of schools would put food trucks out of business by severely limiting where they could operate. The bill was introduced by Bill Monning (D-Carmel).

The ever-encroaching lunacy of liberal authoritarianism won’t stop until we stop it.

On a tip from Shawn.

Now if they would only make school zones pervert free, then we could all be happy.

  2. James McEnanly says:

They are taking no chances with competition. The kids will eat what is given them, and they will learn not to complain.

  3. Sarge says:

It’s obvious they’re concerned above the amount of school lunches that end up in the garbage pail every day. Moochele’s plan to change the urban diet, she knows best.

  4. kiplingsburdens says:

When will they legislate child free school zones?

  5. Jim says:

All this means is that school kids will walk 1,501 feet to get a taco and a coke, and then walk 1,501 feet back to their indoctrination centers.

  6. Dr. Theo says:

Look at it this way, the kids get a little exercise walking to the food trucks, as well as precious moments out from under the watchful eyes of their government handlers.

  7. Joe says:

Now if they would only make school zones pervert free….

Can’t do that!!! It would be anti-gay. Not acceptable in Kalifornia.

  8. Unonymous says:

Only moonbattery could kill the ice cream truck.

I think one day I’ll be crazy grandpa telling kids about how men drove around in trucks and sold us ice cream for only ONE dollar! And the kids only know about “Michelle approved synth-milk ice cream flavored substance” for 10,000 Obamabucks at the local GUM store.

Well, as the unions have already made virtually education free school zones, no children as well would create teachers union nirvana.

Why would anyone be surprised to see something like this coming out of Mexifornia. If we had any brains, we’d build a massive wall along the Navada’s western border and give Mexifornia to the street gangs of illegals who control most of it anyway.

  11. Jimbo says:

Bill Monning (D-Carmel) will instantly put hundreds – or even thousands – of poor undocumented Mexican immigrants out of work by shutting down the taco wagons.

Bill Monning is RACIST!! How HATEFUL can you get, huh?

I wonder how many of the undocumented Mexican immigrant taco wagon workers are gay? Come on – in California, going by California stats – at LEAST 75% are homos. Bill Monning is HOMOphobe!!

Silly liberals – such hypocrites they are… such stupid little social engineers, wallowing in the filth they create.

  12. Jay B. says:

Once government encroaches into something and underqualified bureaucrats decide to decree things like that, there are no limits. The next step is obviously a “Truth only zone” where there are no talk radio in range, no conservative newspaper and no republican locals. Why not? it’s not even a stretch from a self parody like “food free zones”

  13. Jay B. says:

And the sad thing Ted, you know this isn’t far. The next logical step is fining parents who put non-government approved lunches in their kids’ boxes. Kids going home with a 100$ fine because of cookies or a slice of pie. If you’re going with a “lunch inspector”, fines are the next obvious step.

Next up: Legislation banning children from traveling more than 1000 feet from their school without a teacher union escort.

  15. Ummah Gummah says:

What if kids come to class carrying CONCEALED TWINKIES?

I can’t wait for fast food detectors for them to go through.
