Google Search Results Now Feature Propaganda Undermining Conservative News Sources

It isn’t just white male employees Google discriminates against. The all-powerful Internet giant also has it in for conservative websites:

When searching for a media outlet that leans right, like The Daily Caller (TheDC), Google gives users details on the sidebar, including what topics the site typically writes about, as well as a section titled “Reviewed Claims.” …

[A] review of mainstream outlets, as well as other outlets associated with liberal and conservative audiences, shows that only conservative sites feature the highly misleading, subjective analysis. Several conservative-leaning outlets like TheDC are “vetted,” while equally partisan sites like Vox, ThinkProgress, Slate, The Huffington Post, Daily Kos, Salon, Vice and Mother Jones are spared.

Occupy Democrats is apparently the only popular content provider from that end of the political spectrum with a fact-checking section.

Instead of a “Reviewed Claims” section, liberal establishment sites well known for imparting a heavy spin on the news like the New York Times and the Washington Post get a special column showcasing awards they have been bestowed, presumably by their fellow progressives.

The supposed fact checking is a form of propaganda, sometimes disputing claims that had not even been made. It is carried out by partisan entities like WaPo, PolitiFact, Snopes, and Climate Feedback.

Google has an alarming degree of control over the flow of information on the Internet. A line from the movie Videodrome applies perfectly: “It has a philosophy, and that is what makes it dangerous.”

I just did a Google search on ‘The Daily Caller.’ I got the sidebar with the thumbnail description, but no Reviewed Claims.

It may well be that Google omits such reviews based upon your viewing histories. What is also interesting is to review the order of different sites that come up after In my case, site 2 is Moonbattery – RationalWiki where the second sentence reads ” The site is owned by Dave Blount, who is so insane that his extreme right screeds occasionally pop up on FSTDT.”

Same thing when I searched for AmericanThinker. American Thinker – Media Bias/Fact Check is the third search result, followed by Media Matters in position five.

The liberal bias of Google seems obvious.

  3. Brian Brandt says:

I copied your example and Google advanced search for I also got Rational Wiki as the second result, but when I clicked on it I got different verbage: is a blog that alleges that it’s keeping an eye on the American far-left. In reality, it’s up there as one of the most despicable and horrifying sites in the wingnutsphere:

Blatant homophobia (gays are commonly referred to as “perverts”) and rants about the “gay agenda” trying to destroy Christianity.

    Many more examples follow.

  4. Mr. Freemarket says:

So the sentence that Dave was insane was omitted???

Not surprising. Being derided by Rational Wiki should probably be viewed as a badge of honor.

  5. Brian Brandt says:

    Yes, it was omitted at

However, I recall that sentence from a several months back visit to Rational Wiki.

  6. Eddie_Valiant says:

There is absolutely a liberal bias in Google, but when I searched on those examples, I get somewhat different results.

The Rational Wiki shows up right under Moonbattery mostly because the FSTDT site has many links to article on Moonbattery. I’m not in any way defending Google’s bias, but one of the best ways to get ranked in Google’s search results is to have a lot of “backlinks” from other sites. FSTDT morons often post links to MB articles, and in doing so, actually give MB a higher ranking. The Google algorithm assumes that a lot of backlinks must mean the site is authoritative in some manner.

In many ways, that’s good for Dave as it increases his traffic, and as long as the ads aren’t blocked by ad blockers, he derives revenue from the ads when they’re clicked on. Based on the amount of traffic MB must receive, Dave has to pay a lot to sustain the bandwidth at his hosting provider.

Help Dave out by viewing the ads and clicking on them occasionally. Pretty painless way to support

    DUMP GovernmentOOGLE search!
Replace this leftist criminal spying with DuckDuckGo search – available for all browsers. DDG does NOT store your search data, does NOT provide it to the DEEP STATE or sell it to other leftist groups to exploit you and it does NOT help help leftist extremist BILLIONAIRES at GovernmentOOGLE get even richer. It just provides search data comparable to all other search engines. I’ve been using it for many years and have never been disappointed by the speed and thoroughness of the searches.

I’ve used Bing for years. Microsoft is not to be trusted but I find the results pretty good on Bing searches.

  12. ICEvictim says:

Bing returns a decent and straight forward sidebar about DC but at the bottom it refers to “People also search for” and it’s all leftard stuff, not one conservative site listed.
