How to Find Workers Under the Welfare State

As the great Milton Friedman observed, “It’s just obvious you can’t have free immigration and a welfare state.” Try it and you will have an ever-expanding population of parasites who refuse to work while ever more foreigners must be imported to get menial work done. Consider meatpacking:

For politicians in Washington and New York City, an unprecedented stream of asylum seekers presents an intractable problem with no easy answers. For companies like Tyson Foods Inc., struggling to fill unpleasant jobs with a US unemployment rate of 3.9%, this new population presents an alluring opportunity.

“Asylum seeker” is Liberalese for illegal alien. The unemployment rate refers to people who are looking for work; it does not include people who are paid not to work.

“We would like to employ another 42,000 if we could find them,” said Garrett Dolan, who leads Tyson’s efforts to eliminate employment barriers such as immigration status or the need for childcare.

Another 42,000 should be easy to find with Biden’s handlers in power and the border wide open.

When the current workforce figures out they can make a comparable living voting instead of working for a living complements of lavishly generous welfare programs, we can just import still more coolies from the Third World.

Liberals love the word “sustainable.” Yet they never apply it to economics or demographics.

On a tip from Wiggins.
