Inmate Requests Ramadan Meal Schedule, Then Sues Because His Lunch Was Withheld

Failing to cater obsequiously to Ramadan is Islamophobic oppression and probably grounds for a lawsuit. So is catering obsequiously to Ramadan. A tale from North Carolina:

Travaile Speller has sued, claiming that his jailers and the Mecklenburg Sheriff’s Office discriminated against his religious practice by forcing him to eat only two meals each day during Ramadan.

Sniveled Speller in a hand-written complaint,

“They are intentionally eliminating one whole meal (lunch) which is cruel and unusual punishment directed towards all Muslims.”

Muslims are not supposed to eat during daylight hours during Ramadan. Speller had signed a form so as to be served meals on the Ramadan schedule, i.e., before sunrise and after sunset only.

Two weeks after the Ramadan fast ended, however, Speller filed his complaint. He says the loss of a month of midday meals violated the equal protection clause of the Constitution.

Lowlifes don’t get into prison by being smart. But the system is dumber still. Having been arrested at least 10 times in the past 2 years, Speller knows the system well.

His lawsuit calls for a jury trial, and $250,000 in damages.

Wouldn’t it be easier to drop the servile Islamopandering and feed all the criminals on the same schedule? If they don’t want to eat, they don’t have to.

On a tip from Jester.
