Joy Behar: Don’t Give Warning Before Grabbing Guns

Joy Behar has learned a lesson from the collapse of Beto O’Rourke’s farcical yet alarming presidential campaign. Fortunately, she doesn’t have the smarts to apply it on behalf of the liberal establishment she personifies.

Robert Francis O’Rourke accidently did real Americans a service when he squeaked, “Hell yes, we are going to take your AR-15” and openly advocated a mandatory “buyback,” which would boil down to door-to-door confiscation of firearms in stark violation of the US Constitution. Having been fool enough to announce his intentions validated the most extreme suspicions of the NRA, and proved him to be too witless to compete even in the party of Joe Biden.

Joy Behar has managed to follow this far, but it doesn’t occur to her that her own mouth is as large as Beto’s. Via Fox News:

Politicians seeking to confiscate guns from Americans shouldn’t share their plans with the public beforehand and should seek to maintain an element of surprise, Joy Behar said on “The View” Monday. …

“They should not tell everything they’re going to do. If you’re going to take people’s guns away, wait until you get elected — then take the guns away,” she said. “Don’t tell them ahead of time.”

That’s the plan, all right. As with Beto, her advance notice won’t help her party much. How are Democrat voters supposed to pretend they aren’t endorsing tyranny when you keep pulling their fingers out of their ears and shouting that they are?

Tim Pool explains what effect this will have on the dwindling appeal the Democrat Party has for moderates:
