Lawyer Demands Catholic University Stop Offending Moslems With Its Christian Symbols

Moslems and their dhimmi allies have established that it is an unacceptable provocation to draw pictures of Mohammad or to use his name in a grammar test. Time for the camel to push further into the tent. We are at the point in the parable where the camel is most of the way in, and the tent’s owner is most of the way out into the cold. Now we learn that crucifixes are a provocation — even at a Catholic university:

“Complaint says crosses at Catholic school offensive, prevent Muslim prayers,” reads the headline at BeliefNet.

Fortunately no one has been shot, maimed, or bombed yet, because it is not Moslems taking offense, but rather a lawyer on their behalf:

The sixty-page complaint was filed with the Washington, D.C. Office of Human Rights by a one-man nuisance-lawsuit factory, George Washington University Law School Professor John Banzhaf. Muslim students are but pawns in Banzhaf’s game against Catholics. Taken to its logical conclusion, his lawfare would wipe out mosques and Islamic learning centers as well. The rules of engagement in the Establishment’s War on Religion have a funny way of changing to accommodate Islam, however, so perhaps those hypothetical logical conclusions will never be reached.

Banzhaf’s complaint alleges that the large amount of Catholic imagery draping the halls of Catholic University creates an “offensive” environment in which Muslims are intimidated out of proper reverence for their own religion.

He further alleges the university “does not provide space – as other universities do – for the many daily prayers Muslim students must make, forcing them instead to find temporarily empty classrooms where they are often surrounded by Catholic symbols which are incongruous to their religion.”

Not only that, but Muslim students forced to make do with Catholic University’s chapels find their souls crushed by the oppressive spectacle of “the cathedral that looms over the entire campus – the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.” Banzhaf insists the Muslim students must be provided with facilities where they can conduct their five-times-daily prayers without having to look at anything Catholic, especially that immaculate-conception Death Star of Catholic piety. …

He explained that since Muslims must pray five times a day, it’s a tremendous burden for them to “look around for empty classrooms and to be sitting there trying to do Muslim prayers with a big cross looking down or a picture of Jesus or a picture of the Pope is not very conductive to their religion.”

To suggest that if Moslems find Christianity so offensive they should choose some school other than Catholic University would of course be Islamophobic and probably racist too.

John Banzhaf
Banzhaf finds a suitable forum for his coercive moonbattery.

When talking to “infidels”, Muslims will claim that they believe in Jesus, but what they believe is that Jesus was only a prophet – not the son of God. They do not believe that he was resurrected – thus their hatred of the cross, and they do not believe that he was born of a virgin. What they really want to do it to marginalize the concept of Jesus, by pretending that they honor him, but in reality, this is what they are after:

“There is a subtle, dangerous and perilous movement roaming about,
raising voices for a false unity between Islam and Christianity. It is
called Chrislam, claiming to share the same God, the prophets and the
Truth. The idea behind it is to relativize all differences for the
common good to create a utopian society. Interestingly, here are some
Muslims also propagating it and yet after a glance, one finds that they
are only involved so to take advantage of preaching and propagating
their faith. Pick up any program organized by interfaith or by Muslims
in the USA, in the name of interfaith, and you will find them teaching
Islamics at the expense of others. The agenda is to bring Jesus to the
level of Muhammad and then convince participants, that like Jesus,
Muhammad should be accepted by Christians as the prophet of God.”

  6. Saxon Warrior says:

Correct. Muslims do not believe that Jesus was the Christ (Messiah) nor do they believe he was the son of God. In fact they declare that Allah has no son. They do not believe he was crucified and resurrected. The Bible warned us about this five hundred years before the scumbag Mohammed even walked upon this Earth:

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son

    1st John 2:22

Also Mohammed twisted the words of the Bible and brought in a new revelation delivered to him by an angel. Mohammed assumed this angel to be Gabriel but it was more likely a fallen angel. Again the Bible gives us warning:

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

    Galatians 1:8-9

  7. Musicmaven says:

Wow, how could you solve this problem ? How about if you are Moslem DO NOT attend a Catholic University. If you are smart enough to get into this University, you also should be smart enough to figure that they just might have cruxifixes about.

To a large extent lawfare is our own fault. By our system of each party pays their expenses it is possible for a gadfly or richer party with an agenda to intimidate another by the threat of a frivolous law suite. I believe that we would be better off using the English System (which almost every other country uses) where the loser pays both parties expenses. It would at least crimp the tort bar.

Banzhaf is one of the leading legal “activists” pushing the progressive idea that you use law to change the culture rather than allowing the law to follow the culture. It’s not all bad if you believe the SOME of the smoking laws have benefited non-smokers, like to not have to sit next to a smoker on a plane.

But most of his work is on the fringe like this. I wonder how he is funded to do this work. Some of his other “activism” has well publicized funding. Didn’t see any reference to it here or in the links.

The interfaith nonsense is phase one, to get the camel’s nose under the tent. To the atheist, both faiths are wrong, but in any case, they can’t both be right, and people need to know that. I’m for the faith that prescribes peace, love, and service, versus the faith that prescribes beheading and pedophilia.

Banzhaf is carrying out phase two, where Christianity is found to be incompatible with Islam. With references like “Catholic symbols which are incongruous to their religion”, it’s obvious which faith must now yield to the other.

Still, it’s good to hear someone publicly state the incompatibility. I just hope it’s not too late.
