Liberal Elite Fashion: X-Rated Crucifix

Liberal elitists are fond of making sanctimonious demands that we respect the cultures and beliefs of others. It doesn’t occur to them that this respect must start at home:

The “Penis Pendant Necklace” is now available for purchase from designer Tom Ford.

According to Elle, Ford surprised the fashion world in June with his design, which features a penis and two testicles in the shape of a crucifix. Fashion editors and aficionados were quick to embrace the design, calling it “smarter than it looks” and an homage to ancient Roman phallic art.

We little people are only disgusted because we can’t grasp the sophisticated nuance.

If you really need to see it, here is what our opponents in the Culture War have to offer.

On tips from Artfldgr and Stormfax.

  1. “A crucifix (from Latin cruci fixus meaning “(one) fixed to a cross”) is an image of Jesus on the cross, as distinct from a bare cross. The representation of Jesus himself attached to the cross is referred to in English as the corpus (Latin for “body”).”

Given that, the phallus is not a crucifix. It’s a bare cross, or, in this case, a bare naked cross. That said, calling it a crucifix only helps spread the message of hate, no matter how inadvertently. Notice the manufacturer called it a “pendant” not a “crucifix.” As Elle said, “And lest there be any lingering confusion, it is simply called, ‘the Penis Necklace’—crucifix not mentioned.”

So if the media is calling it a “crucifix,” then it’s the media spreading the hate.

And there is absolutely no way the media would ever call that anything relating to Islam, you know, like where they literally crucify Christians on bare crosses. So Christianity is definitely the target of the media’s hate.

Derivative and oh so boring. Liberals had better start developing other targets of hate because, honestly, the shock value of insulting Christianity has long since worn off.

Now, as said, start defiling and defaming muslim symbols and icons and people might just take notice. Good luck.

OK. So where are the feminists to condemn this as part of “rape culture” and being misogynistic and condemning Tom Ford for being a “rape denier” and being “part of the war on women”
Seriously. Getting past the lame attempt to attack Christianity. The truth is it’s only a “penis crucifix” if the wearer want’s it to be.
Otherwise it’s just golden male genitalia. So then who would wear it? Homosexuals maybe. But beyond that. If a hetero man wears it he’s clearly being hostile to women. (mark my words. Just wait until a rabid feminist see’s a man wearing it). And if a woman wears it. She’s clearly bowing to “paternalistic rape culture” and promoting “sexual male dominance”. Just like the paper mache klansman statue this won’t end well.

Plus it’s going to land the first guy stupid enough to wear it on a college campus (or to work) in big trouble.

Okay, now let me think about this. It’s something that I worked out when I was a kid, but there’s no harm in going over it again. In the same way that working out how to tie my own shoelaces again (as a refresher course) can do no harm.
The reason that the cross is shaped like it is, is because it’s the shape of a man with outstretched arms tied to two perpendicular pieces of wood. If you still don’t get it, try standing up straight, legs together and stretch your arms out sideways. Think about the statue of Jesus in Rio de Janeiro and you might get the picture.
Of course, I’m not saying that there aren’t a few people with crazy warped imaginations who may think that a cross looks a bit like a penis, but all I can say to such people is to tell them to stop reading so many Freudian psychology books.
Not everything in the World is about cocks. Get it?

As a crucifixion stand an X works better. More stable, possibly a more tortuous body position. Plus your bits dangle in the breeze for people to throw things at.

At some point, there will be a reckoning and those who mock the Lord will suffer the consequences. I’m no Bible scholar, just a guy that believes what he reads in the Good Book. I’m sorry progs don’t get that, but they have the opportunity to change their ways.

The distinction between the light and darkness is becoming more clear now. We should not, as Christians, be shocked when the world (read: unredeemed sinners) acts like…well, the world. The Holy Spirit of truth is not transforming them and so they are without the ability to resist or even identify their sin nature. Pray for and witness to them but don’t expect them to be something they are not, Christians.

  34. Good point about the media. However, I don’t think they are completely innocent. There is no question that it is in the shape of a cross. In fact, the barren cross is probably even more representative of Christianity, because it testifies to Jesus’ resurrection, so to have a penis in the shape of a (barren) cross is still offensive, and typical of the homosexual mentality.
