Liberal Totalitarians Set Their Sights on Beef

The moonbats are coming for our steaks, our hamburgers, even our beef hotdogs.

You know when a blitzkrieg is on the horizon when they soften up the target with a bombing offensive. Instead of sending out the Luftwaffe, modern statists rely on studies by pointy-headed experts (usually funded by the government). This one should alarm anyone who enjoys a hearty meal:

Raising beef for the American dinner table does far more damage to the environment than producing pork, poultry, eggs or dairy, a new study says.

Compared with the other animal proteins, beef produces five times more heat-trapping gases per calorie, puts out six times as much water-polluting nitrogen, takes 11 times more water for irrigation and uses 28 times the land, according to the study, published Monday in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Cows are not efficient at converting feed to protein for human consumption, said lead author Gidon Eshel, an environmental physics professor at Bard College in New York.

Eshel used U.S. government figures to calculate air and water emissions and how much water and land were used in the lifetime production of beef, pork, poultry, dairy and eggs.

That is, the figures come from the same federal government that has pushed its hostility to Southwestern cattle ranchers to the verge of armed conflict. Cattle use a lot of land, and Big Government likes to control every inch. In addition, there are cultural issues. The lifestyle of ranchers keeps alive a masculine, freedom-loving aspect of America that the metrosexual authoritarian weenies in Washington want dead.

Cows burp major amounts of methane, a greenhouse gas that is dozens of times more potent than carbon dioxide.

A dozen times nothing is still nothing. There is no credible evidence that carbon dioxide, methane, or even the greatest greenhouse gas of them all, water vapor, is the least bit harmful.

Claiming that beef causes global warming is the same as claiming that it is homophobic or offensive to Native Americans. We are in the realm of liberal ideology, not objective reality.

The message from the study is “whenever possible try to replace beef with other sources of protein from animal sources,” said Eshel, who said he doesn’t eat meat now but used to raise cattle on a kibbutz in Israel.

First we will be nudged. Our rulers have already managed to drive beef prices up to a new record high, no doubt in part thanks to bureaucratically engineered droughts. When this does not achieve utopia, we will be coerced. Whatever the real reasons, our liberal rulers have decided they don’t want us eating red meat, so enjoy it while you can.

On a tip from Wiggins.

Damn, give me a chance. I’m eating them as fast I can.

I know, I’ll get a bigger smoker so I can cook more at a time and eat them faster. Smokers are good for the environment . . . right? It’s all natural so they must be.

Just remember, Soylent Green is people.

If Cows do so much more damage than pigs or chickens then shouldnt we be eating more beef to help do our part in stopping global warming/cooling/change/el nino/seasons?

Cows are tremendously efficient at being delicious. And I am equally efficient at turning said cows into dinner. We should factor both of these truths into the efficiency formula. Cows would win hands down.

So, does this mean that keeping snugly fitted pampers on my herd at all times isn’t really helping after all? Oh, no!!!

cows don’t eat “feed” very often. Most of their lives they eat grass, alfalfa in the winter. A bit of feed to fatten them up for sale. The cows can graze on land which is useless for agriculture.

(D)umbasses in the city think it’s unfair that ranchers have use of thousands of acres – without the ranchers making beef on that useless land, meat costs would soar – only the rich would be able to afford beef raised on “feed”.

In Pre-Colombian North America vast herds of buffalo and other cud chewers roamed the plains. They also produced much methane. This is the case at BEST of a little knowledge being a dangerous thing. At worst it is just social manipulation. These people have too much lesure, too much money, and WAY too much ego.

Isn’t it a remarkable coincidence that everything beloved of normal Americans – horsepower, electricity, steak – is tied to Global Warming? You know they must working on angles for bourbon and breasts.

First I am very fond of meat period.
The idiots who did this study have no basic understanding of how agriculture works.
Notice the sepearation of beef and dairy. Not that beef cattle are the same as dairy but do these idiots think dairy comes from some other animal?

The libtard comparison sighted is one cow equals one chicken which is ridiculous of course. I cook one chicken I get two meals. I cook one cow I eat for a year. 365 chickens MIGHT equal one cow so let Prof Braindead do the math on that.

A year or two back, we had a severe thunderstorm that knocked out power to a major chicken raising operation and killed 100,000 chickens. The same storm killed ZERO cows in the area.

    Just sayin . . .

No food, people die. I have said for years that when the grocery stores are empty, like in every Communist country on Earth, and people cannot feed their children, the fight is on. That is where we are headed and soon.
