Little House on the Prairie Now Shunned as Racist

No aspect of American culture is so anodyne as to escape the thought police as they retroactively purge anything not in compliance with up to the minute standards of political correctness — not even Little House on the Prairie:

Laura Ingalls Wilder’s name will be removed from a major award because of how the “Little House on the Prairie” author portrayed minorities in her novels, the children’s division of the American Library Association voted Saturday.

“This decision was made in consideration of the fact that Wilder’s legacy, as represented by her body of work, includes expressions of stereotypical attitudes inconsistent with ALSC’s core values of inclusiveness, integrity and respect, and responsiveness,” the Association for Library Service to Children said in a statement after the unanimous vote.

Consequently, the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award, which honors those who make significant contributions to children’s literature, has been renamed the Children’s Literature Legacy Award, Mrs. Wilder having been consigned to the memory hole.

Laura Ingalls Wilder was born in 1867. To expect her to hold attitudes fashionable among progressives in the year 2018 would be absurd. But liberal social engineers have never shied away from absurdity before.

Compounding her thought crime is the nature of her work, which is too wholesome for progressive sensibilities, and which reflects the self-reliant pioneer spirit that built America and horrifies moonbats.

Fans of Laura Ingalls Wilder are encouraged to buy up her books before they become unavailable. Within a generation, she will have been erased.

I hope you enjoy the programming on BET, MTV, and CNN, because that is all that will be left of our culture before the thought police are finished with their purges.
