Moonbats Force City to Remove Praying Soldier Memorial

Muslim colonists in France aren’t the only ones waging war to repress our culture. Some use AK-47s; others hire lawyers:

A North Carolina town has finally thrown in the towel on a years-long court battle by agreeing to remove a veterans’ memorial statue from its central park that featured a praying soldier kneeling before a cross and a Christian flag.

After spending approximately $50,000 in legal fees to help preserve the memorial at King Central Park, and willing to spend no more, the King City Council voted 3-2 on Tuesday to agree on a settlement with the plaintiff, a former U.S. Army soldier, that would force the city to remove the statue and take down the Christian flag.

The city council vote took place in front of a room of about 60 of the town’s residents and many of them shook their heads in disapproval as the board announced the settlement. The Winston-Salem Journal reports that a few residents interjected with notions such as: “What else are you going to give up next?”

It doesn’t matter what is given up next, because in the end it will all be given up. The enemy will not stop taking until our culture is gone.

Adding to the tragedy is that the soldiers being memorialized died as martyrs to the freedom we are relinquishing to deep-pocketed liberal activists and their lawyers without a shot being fired.

  3. Mr. Freemarket says:

I wonder why someone would object to this statue. Is it historically incorrect; have US Soldiers never bowed and prayed before a cross? Is it offensive to see someone call upon the Divine Creator at a time of need or when a man seeks assistance and protection?

  5. Mr. Freemarket says:

Yes, I know, the argument is that the statue promotes religion. The question is “what religion?” There are well over 1000 different Christian churches/denominations. If someone sees this statue, which church will they become converted to? The Baptists? The Amish? The Catholics? The Community Church of Christ?

According to another story I saw about this Hewett said “The City of King should be honoring everyone who served our country, not using their service as an excuse to promote a single religion.” OK, fine. Considering the statue and flag were paid for with private funds then, as part of the settlement, Hewett should use what money he receives to fund the placement of a flag for each religion. After all, if he was truly sincere about his reasons for the lawsuit then this should be no problem for him to do.

This POS and the nitwits backing him were just out for the money. What these communities need to do is what my small town did in a situation involving the Nativity Scene at the courthouse. They made the courthouse lawn open to any display by anyone as long as it meets local, state and federal laws. Atheists tried once to threaten the city into removing the Nativity. The mayor answered with a letter telling them that, if they wanted, they could erect their own display on the lawn. They did for just that one Christmas and they haven’t been heard from since. That was 5 years ago.

The solution is quite simple. The city should just take a page from the enviro Nazis play book. They set up “conservancies that purchase small tract of only a few square inches scattered in larger undeveloped ones and use them to prevent any development or use of the land they don’t approve of. The city should then just sell a small corner of a public park in a very visit me location to a private nonprofit entity. They can then erect the statue and maintain it with private donations. We can all then sit back and enjoy both the memorial and the exploding leftist skulls!

This is so much crap. First off all that’s not a depiction of religion. The soldier’s not praying. He’s mourning at the grave of a dead comrade. You can see that clearly by the height of the cross which is clearly a gravestone. And by the way the cross isn’t just a symbol of Christianity it’s also a symbol of mortality (like the red cross, the green cross for safety, and blue cross (health insurance)). And it’s not the cross or the kneeling the moonbat leftist finds offensive it’s the rifle. It’s a very moving well done work of REAL ART by a real artist and the people of the town should tar and feather whoever brought that lawsuit. In the meantime if I was pastor in that town I would move that statue right onto the front lawn of my church.

So what’s next? No grave stones in the shape of a cross at Arlington National Cemetery? I mean, that’s public land after all. And no, you know as well as I that’s not just an exaggeration. There’s bound to be some obnoxious liberals scheming for just that.

That’s probably the smartest approach. Because these people have no taste or class they end up putting something really stupid that just makes them look like idiots and turns the town against them. And it’s just too much trouble to come back and do it year after year and since they can’t find anybody else that cares they give up and go away.

This is not just about the vile hate filled leftists and atheists that bring these suits. It’s just as much if not more about the sleezy greedy lawyers who file them simply as a means of lining their own pockets. There just aren’t enough lampposts for them.

I think the point David was trying to make is that if you leave this to your children and do nothing to stop it you are, in fact, part of the problem. I would rather die today fighting the forces of evil that are ruling this country than live another 20 or 30 years knowing that my children will be slaves to a totalitarian dictatorship. If you live to be 90 and have to look into their eyes on your deathbed and explain that they must suffer because you were too lazy or cowardly or stupid to stop what was happening when you could, you will regret it. I’m 60ish and don’t really WANT to have to fight again but my duty to my family outweighs my desire to slack off.
Calling you out on that responsibility is not rude, it is a courtesy wake up call. I suggest you checkout a site called unbeatablemind.com. The mental toughness principles taught there may help you out.

Maybe it is just that humility isn’t popular with liberals.
