Moonbats: Global Warming Will Take Away Our Popcorn

They are so cocooned within their silly ideology, they can’t hear the laughter. So they become ever more ridiculous, never losing their self-important, know-it-all mien. Now they ask us to hurriedly sacrifice our wealth and freedom to Big Government lest global warming take away our popcorn:

A new study, published Thursday in the journal Science, indicates that unless we act, and act fast, climate change could threaten everybody’s favorite meme-able snack: popcorn.

The new research, which looks at the evolution of maize in the United States over thousands of years, indicates that the corn’s adaptation to new climates was a slow process. And even with modern technology, it seems helping corn adapt to our rapidly changing world won’t be easy.

Maize was first domesticated in the tropics of southern Mexico about 10,000 years ago.

Thanks to the efforts of Michael Mann and other climate conmen to hide the decline, many people seem to believe the climate did not change for millennia until Al Gore invented global warming. Actually, the climate has fluctuated tremendously, producing for example the Roman and Medieval warming periods. However, it remains disputable whether it has fluctuated significantly recently, due to much of the data the authorities present us with being fake.

Nonetheless, we are asked to fret that because corn initially only grew in a tropical environment, there won’t be any corn if it gets a little warmer. Logic has never been a strong suit of global warming hoaxers.

No more popcorn. Add it to The List.

Make sure you have plenty to eat while watching the global warming hoax implode.

“Global Warming Will Take Away Our Popcorn”
–I’ll bet Gore will still be able to afford it !!!

  2. KirklesWorth says:

Any “global warming” would cause the crop to migrate north – as though corn hasn’t been adapted for millennia all over the planet.

  3. MAS says:

Popcorn tends to cause flatulence and bovine flatulence is blamed for blasting holes in the sacred ozone layer. So are we movie watching popcorn eaters not a problem too? It’s hard to keep up with this science stuff…

  4. Pyrran says:

So it pops in the field and I’ll go there and eat it. Problem solved.
Hey Gore, call me if you need help with any of these little problems.

This story just goes to show you how STUPID lunatic liberal moonbats are.

First, no worries – my corn is about 16 feet tall this year. It’s growing fine, PROBABLY BETTER due to “global warming” and more CO2 in the atmosphere.

Second, crops are grown based on “hardiness zones” that have to do with the length of the growing season, the maximum high and low and the average high and low temperatures experienced at a particular place. As the Earth warms, normally and naturally, hardiness zones don’t “disappear”, they migrate towards the poles. What actually happens is crops can be grown MORE PLACES, not less. So all these claims about losing this or that crop are total B.S.!

If anything the popcorn market might take a hit because it will be flooded with product and prices will face downward pressure.

What about Mexicans? All those burritos and tacos. Surely Mexicans must pass gas.

Don’t forget the frijoles and corn tortillas. Yummy, now I’m hungry…

I came to say that. The best corn growing seasons are hot and humid.

Of course they can’t seem to decide if we’re warming or cooling. Depends upon which way the wind blows.

so we pay these azzclowns tens of thousands of dollars in grants just to sit around think up really stupid stuff like this. Wow. Just wow.

Popcorn is cultural appropriation from Native American culture. All “corn” is cultural appropriation. Call maize “corn” is micro aggression! Aaaughh! (sarcasm off)

  14. adventussaxonum says:

Exactly. I was driving past some mighty fine-looking maize in England last week. Not exactly a tropical climate, although there was plenty of “humidity.”
