Moving to a More Constructive High School Curriculum Won’t Be Easy

You can’t make an aircraft carrier spin on a dime. The same goes for public education, a potential tool for great good that has been used consciously for decades by leftwing radicals in the mold of former communist terrorist and current prominent education professor Bill Ayers to undermine America’s belief in itself. Kudos to patriots in Colorado for taking some early steps toward getting this massive ship turned around. Unsurprisingly, they have encountered pushback:

Hundreds of students walked out of classrooms around suburban Denver on Tuesday in protest over a conservative-led school board proposal to focus history education on topics that promote citizenship, patriotism and respect for authority, in a show of civil disobedience that the new standards would aim to downplay.

Where did kids get the idea to do this? From their teachers:

The youth protest in the state’s second-largest school district follows a sick-out from teachers that shut down two high schools in the politically and economically diverse area that has become a key political battleground.

Students have been trained to screech that focusing on positive aspects of our history and heritage instead of the Howard Zinn type anti-American propaganda that has been the standard fare for a generation would consist of censorship.

“I don’t think my education should be censored. We should be able to know what happened in our past,” said Tori Leu, a 17-year-old student who protested at Ralston Valley High School in Arvada.

Here’s what the teachers and their students find so unacceptable:

The school board proposal that triggered the walkouts in Jefferson County calls of instructional materials that present positive aspects of the nation and its heritage. It would establish a committee to regularly review texts and course plans, starting with Advanced Placement history, to make sure materials “promote citizenship, patriotism, essentials and benefits of the free-market system, respect for authority and respect for individual rights” and don’t “encourage or condone civil disorder, social strike or disregard of the law.”

The proposal was by Julie Williams of the board’s conservative majority.

“There are things we may not be proud of as Americans,” she said. “But we shouldn’t be encouraging our kids to think that America is a bad place.”

Wrong. America is a very bad place that must be fundamentally transformed until it doesn’t exist anymore. That is the official establishment stance, and anyone who disputes it is going to encounter resistance, including the community organizer type tactics being employed in suburban Denver now.

The larger struggle is nationwide:

Tension over high school education has cropped up recently in Texas, where conservative school board officials are facing criticism over new textbooks. Meanwhile, in South Carolina, conservatives have called on an education oversight committee to ask the College Board, which oversees Advanced Placement courses, to rewrite their framework to make sure there is no ideological bias.

America’s restoration will not come about unless we put an end to the deliberately corrosive propaganda that is passed off as education, which in turn will not happen unless patriots fight tooth and nail to make it happen. Backing down from this fight is not an option.

On a tip from Mr. Mentalo.

Since when is blindly following orders “civil disobedience”? They are showing an adherence to the party line that would make any Young Pioneer or Hitler Youth proud.

We will have to start in Nursery school or Kindergarten if we want cut off the leftest cultural rot. By high school its too late to start reprogramming the lefty wunderkind. Not unless the wunderkind is left out of college and is forced to get a job and start pulling his or her weight. That’s what worked for me got away from my lefty parents influence, started to figure things out for myself saw how my money was being chewed up in taxes and such. By the time I went to college no lefty Prof had anything on me had many a spirited discussions in class.

The commie scum have spent decades “progressing” to this point. If you think they are going to give up any ground without a fight you are an imbecile.

The kids have been brainwashed to believe that the version of history they are being taught now is “uncensored” when the opposite is true. This i sa lost generation and the spawn that they create will not be American.

To defeat the left you must exterminate the left. Just as you must exterminate Muslims in order to defeat Islam. Same shit, different assholes.
