New York Times Allegedly Has Audio of Trump Admitting He Plans to Shaft Supporters on Immigration

Anyone who thinks that Trump is more firm on illegal immigration than Ted Cruz is in for a big surprise if the Donald gets the nomination:

The New York Times is sitting on an audio recording that some of its staff believes could deal a serious blow to Donald Trump, who, in an off-the-record meeting with the newspaper, called into question whether he would stand by his own immigration views.

Trump visited the paper’s Manhattan headquarters on Tuesday, Jan. 5, as part of a round of editorial board meetings that — as is traditional — the Democratic candidates for president and some of the Republicans attended. The meetings, conducted partly on the record and partly off the record in a 13th-floor conference room, give candidates a chance to make their pitch for the paper’s endorsement.

It now comes to light that the off-the-record part evidently included a strong indication that Trump has no intention of attempting to deport millions of illegal aliens, even under the touchback amnesty scheme he has touted. It is an initial bargaining position at best, a straightforward lie to win the GOP nomination at worse.

The NY Times says it cannot release the full audio without permission from Trump, which obviously will not be forthcoming — although when questioned about the report, Trump confirmed that “Everything is negotiable.”

It makes you wonder what else the MSM may be sitting on. Much of it will come to light after he has secured the nomination, but in plenty of time to ensure that he loses the general election in a massive blowout.

No one, including Trump himself, knows what he will really do regarding immigration, since his positions have been to every corner of the map even recently. Using government power to silence his critics remains the only promise Trump has made that he is likely to keep.

The MSM would sure have fun with a Trump nomination.

Even Ronnie made deals. At least Trump won’t need them to line his pockets or live up to his end of the deal to the Saudis, CAIR, ACORN, The Black Panthers….

Cruz simply sounds like a politician, a Republican politician- you know like the ones who since they retook Congress in 2010 have let the enemy infiltrator Obama walk all over them, violate every tenet of the Constitution, violate Federal and State Laws and they simply smile along like emasculated cuckolds watching their wives be sodomized by the LA Lakers…

Establishment Republicans had SIX YEARS already to show us what they could do. What have they done? And you guys expect that to suddenly change?

What did the last Republican President do for us anyway? The establishment ran a party insider with a party name who was an alcoholic, failed at every business he was involved in, used eminent domain laws to steal land for his sweetheart deal with the Texas Rangers and came from a political dynasty where his brother Neil was involved in the Savings and Loan collapse in the early 1990’s.

Good God, the Republican establishment gave us W for Christ’s sake. Granted, Obama makes W look like George Washington at this point but lest anyone forget the 8 years of W that even left me voting for a third party in ’04 after having voted for the moron in 2000.

The ship is sinking. We hit the iceberg a long time ago and the bow is under water. Staying the course with the same captain leaves us all treading icy water.

So…the New York Times is leaking info to Buzzfeed alleging that Trump is insufficiently dedicated to deporting millions of mexicans in order to harm Trump on Tuesday.

I’m sorry my ideological conservative friends, you’re just not seeing the forest for the trees. 7 months ago, it was conventional wisdom that anyone espousing the crazy idea that we should deport illegals was anathema, completely out of step with the electorate and incapable of winning in the general election. Here we are on Super Tuesday and the mouthpiece of the liberal establishment, owned by Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim, is trying to hurt Trump’s chances by undermining his credibility on the matter of his commitment to deporting Mexicans. That’s a massive shift in the Overton Window.

There is a selfish vanity to Trump that makes me think he won’t back down on his end on this. His ego will not be able to bear being labeled a traitor and sell-out if he doesn’t get some form of border security.

Trump is from NY, namely the boroughs. There is a pragmatism that comes from that experience. We can simultaneously play the system and complain about it. We learn to use the corruption and hypocrisy out of necessity and understanding of it. In order simply to survive, let alone thrive.

Really NY is ahead of the curve over the rest of the country in terms of corruption that is now endemic throughout the nation now.

5 Reasons Trump Must Be Stopped
    Here are five reasons why.
    Trumpism Perverts Conservatism Itself.
Everything I wrote about Romney then applies exponentially more to Trump now. Trump, as I’ve detailed, is not conservative on virtually any issue. He will grow government, not shrink it. He believes in the unchecked power of the executive branch. He does not believe in traditional Constitutional rights. And yet he pitches himself as a conservative, as an heir to Reagan, even though Trump’s heaviest base of support comes from primary voters who have “liberal positions on economic issues,” according to the RAND Corporation.
    Destroying The Perception of Conservatism.
Trump says he’s fighting political correctness, but he’s not: he’s just gross. Playing footsie with David Duke and the KKK isn’t politically incorrect; it’s tacitly endorsing racism, and it undermines decades of hard work fighting the left’s lies about conservative racism.
Fracturing The Republican Party Beyond Repair.
Ushering In An Era Of European Politics. Trump is a European-style response to the European-style leftism of Barack Obama. He’s a soft European-style populist, from his interventionist economics to his closed-borders foreign policy.
Trump Will Lose. Trump’s supporters say that Trump is a last-gasp attempt to beat Hillary Clinton – nobody else can beat her. She’s unstoppable. The polls don’t show that. In fact, polls consistently show Trump losing to Hillary.

The old, enemy of my enemy is my friend routine which has been consistently untrue throughout human history.

It is true Trump is at odds with the GOP establishment, but not because he is on the side of the people. He is at odds with them because they know he will want a bigger piece of their pie. That can mean only one of two things, either they will have to take less or they will have to make the pie bigger.

Guess where the ingredients for that bigger pie come from . . .

Let’s use the standard behavior by “The Donald” as our guide. When somebody says something he doesn’t like, he threatens to sue them, he hasn’t done that so far. If there was no such thing as this alleged tape, he would have done so already.

If I published an article claiming to have video of Trump with a porn star which showed that he only had a 2″ penis, he would sue me. Since I have no such tape, I would lose. The difference being the NYT has deep pockets, I don’t.

The Overton Window has nothing to do with that.

Umm, the Sulzberger family still owns the Times. Slim’s stake is only 16.8%, a long way from a majority.
