Next We Must Ban Matches

There are at least 300 million guns in the USA, possibly 600 million. Many Americans have or can acquire the know-how to make their own guns to sell on the black market. There are an estimated 100 billion rounds of ammunition and components to load more. Dianne Feinstein and friends can fantasize, but no one can disarm America.

But for argument’s sake, let’s say Democrats attain the political leverage to disarm law-abiding citizens without setting off a civil war. Let’s venture even further into the realm of the unreal and say they manage to disarm criminals too. At that point, they would have to ban matches.

Mexico has some of the most repressive gun laws on earth. Hardly anyone has guns except criminals and the government. But they still haven’t banned matches:

At least 25 people were killed in an arson attack by suspected gang members on a bar in the southeastern Mexican port of Coatzacoalcos late on Tuesday, President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said, in a fresh blow to his efforts to curb violence.

They ran up the high body count at the Caballo Blanco bar by closing off the emergency exits before setting fire to the bar with Molotov cocktails. The killers were armed, but they did the killing with matches.

Utopia is always one more ban away.
